I removed the picture. It's disgusting. Don't put it back.
Any predictions for tonight? What a perfect end to the season. I think the Brothers will show last year's form and get a win, but it will only be enough if the other teams split aye?
woof. Someone start the cameras.
"Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away;
Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.
You better watch out,
There may be wolves
about"
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo
^ ROTFLMAO ! :P
Hey guys! I hope the temp replacement I hired to play for me tonight did alright.
How'd the game go?
Post Season Play:
Locos vs. Society at the Home of the Locos (Fornix Field) next Wed at 7 pm. Locos host because even tough the teams are tied, when the played each other during the season, the Locos have the better record (Society 2 pts vs. Locos 7 pts).
The winner of that match will play the Killer Fleas the following week at the Home of the Killer Fleas (Corpus Callosum Cove).
Woot, nice job x. If I have time, ill divide goals scored / goals allowed for some kind of efficiency metric.
Congrats to all on a nice smooth season, hope fun was had.
GL CRB and SS
Those stats mean nothing. There were undermanned games, etc
B
^ Good point!
Most goals allowed: Team Killemall (259 goals) ;)
Actually I did note which games were played with a man down. Those scores are blue in the chart above - in case anyone wants to correct for that.

You can always take out the best and worst, but that means nothing too. The only thing that means anything is that if bolo wants to get in on the finals, he's going to have to buy the dvd. Again.

^ Hahahahahaha
How about this stat. Napalm has had mucho fun 95% of the time. :)
Well at least Killemall tried to win last night ! :o
@ Bolo
None of our games were played a man down so WP stats are right ! B)
Thanks to killemall for waiting for us! We were a man down and they waited at least 15 minutes for us to get it together. If they had insisted we play on time, as was their right to do, we would have been in a very bad way.
SHORN!
The picture below shows a patient Poison Shear (Freedom) being shorn by an all-too-willing WOLFPACK member. All 4 sheeps duly lined up to have their excess wool removed. The evening was without incident, except for the first game where the sheeps tied. Said Hugobrain after the game: 'I knew it was a bad idea to send a herd of sheep into a wolf pack'.
On another note, Baba the Sheeps Captain couldn't be interviewed. Shortly before the game ended and the stadium was burned down by rabid fans, Baba was last seen exiting the service door. A satellite was able to send this picture from the canadian toundra, where it is believe the Sheeps' Captain is hiding in an undisclosed location. The SEC also asked for an independant audit on the Sheeps team Financial Statements for 2004.

We seriously tried to win. After a rough few early minutes, flea dropped his heavy for a light, but it seemed as though we were 4 heavies last night, clunking around with no pies to eat. They kept say "are you guys taking a dive?"
I was like.....gnashing teeth.
...and fleas don't have teeth... :'(
Grate season all the way through to the last match.
Thanks to: (in no particular order)
Reagent X for the graphics and hosting files
Tally Ho for administering
MonkeeMan for the maps and observer script
Pokemalo and the rest of Bravetree
All the players (esp my team) for the fun games
Howdy Y'all!! Great season by all.... Man, I dont know where to start... This was the best season by a long shot!!
@Wolf : You transformed us into one mighty machine...
@WolfPack: We were the most improved team hands down, too bad there isn't another week left!!
@Reg and Tally: Beautiful job... Couldnt say it any better!!
@Monkee: Beautiful maps!!
@Rest of the league: thanks for the competetiveness and the sportsmanship!!
Aroooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh!!!!! ;)
Dar hugs Baba as he pleads with him to allow kj to play and keep the locos from playing short.
All jesting aside it was a very difficult decision for me to step out of my final PSL8 game to let the locos run a full team.
(second week in a row, GrrrrrBaaaa!)
I really wanted to play that one.
Champs shouldn't have to be coddled.
Well, now that I let that off my wooly chest.
It has been a great season and cheers to the co-commish's, all the captains, hosts and players.
On to a great playoffs!!!!!!
Baaaaaaa!
^hmmmm...... :P
Isn't it how Odysseus and his companions got out of the Cyclops's cave? A clever trick... :P
Is there going to be a Toliet Bowl match this season ? We have not had one since season 6 :[
Yes it's that (Odysseus) after he poked the cyclops eye out... Make em blind then camouflage,,, total plan to escape.
Wow it seems you guys had lots of fun. Also you are very well organized. I'm impressed. Congrats to all.
For next season if someone is missing a player please contact me I would love to play. If not I will try to muster all ST'S to make a serious team and contend with you all.
Ps if some of you want to practice against us now tell us I'd love to do that. (bear in mind I'm not sure how good we are)
Delta ,agent of Change
Well, I'd also like to say thanks to everyone. Both my team members and you other players pushed me to my limits and beyond this season. While I still don't think I play as well as many of you, at least I feel I'm competitive now and know I'm no slouch and can add something to a team! :D
I'll be taking a break from PsychoScrum 9, but don't count me out for Psychoscrum 10 if and when it happens!
Hey! This season isn't over till the great flush...
{WalMart free for over 24 months!}
The only thing that means anything is that if bolo wants to get in on the finals, he's going to have to buy the dvd. Again
Lol
Its a matter of people showing up.....I had a star lineup designed to destroy the fleas...however when we were there tally neglected to show up and we won a man up.....2nd time we meet we split...and without the top guns on our side....
Say what you want ho...
@all
It's clear after SEVERAL seasons that the night players who consistently show up are always on the same teams....is that really fair to those captains who have to piece together teams with what is left??
B
First of all, I think this season was fantastic! The entire season was played on Mods for the first time. We implemented Home Fields, which was a fun thing. We had very good attendance (38 out of 42 matches had full attendance). We had excellent sportsmanship all the way around, with a minimum of any problems that flared up. We had a nice mix of noobs and vets. Thanks to all who participated!
Some ideas for next season that we talked about at the end of last season. We talked about the Champion team would have the option to stay together, but that the rest of the teams would dissolve and start a fresh draft.
One scoring change I would suggest for next season: I would keep the same game scoring (2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss). But as far as adding the bonus point for winning both games (i.e. 5 points for a sweep), I would only add this point if the games were played with full attendance. Seems like this point should really need to be "earned".
Any other ideas for next season?
20 Minute games?
30 Minute playoff games? Also, best 3 out of 5?
Require the expansion pack so we have no map limitations.
I think a new draft would spice things up!
Never shoot at napalm :)
I feel for you Bolo, its tough to start out fresh every season.
I would hate to see the established teams dissolve, as this kills any rivalry b/w teams. But I agree a little shake up of the lineups is needed to give the dedicated noobs a chance to play and develop their skills with the expert vets. Ultimately this helps sustain (or even grow) the League at a fun yet competitive level. How about a protected/expansion draft? Each team can keep up to 4 or 5 players and the rest are up for grabs.

I think it is best to break up all the teams with the Champions having the option to stay to defend their title.
I like the idea of,
20 Minute games?
30 Minute playoff games? Also, best 3 out of 5?
Require the expansion pack so we have no map limitations.
@ RX
Why should the team that showed up with all its members be penalized for the other teams poor turn out ? I don't think that is fair at all ! B)
I think it was a really excellent season. Attendance is always a team killer. In tbml I captained a couple of seasons and had pretty good success. As a captain I was a whiny, nagging prick and bombarded my team with a steady stream of email to keep them showing for practices and games. I think that is the most important thing a captain does.
Yeah us Sheeps have been grazing together for now 4 seasons! We're cut of the same wool, yet we always thought a general shuffle could be fun, creating new team dynamics.
Shuuuuuuffffle!
Something else too. Several seasons ago we could have 'subs' (substitutes) that would play in any team in case of a missing player. (I remember recruiting people on the spot in the league so that we could fill the teams!) It would be useful to reinstate a list of subs thus ensuring 4x4 games. However we noticed subs can disrupt a game balance when he's especially a good one, but then it's better than 4x3.

How about 3 on 3??
Less lag, less spawns...more team play....
Mb have an A team and a B team....2 different matches going on. Say A's at 9 and B's at 9:30...
Could be less sitting out for those who want to play...if people need to sit then the same 3 players can play both games if needed....less undermanned games....could have as few as 3 to field a team and as many as 6 to all join in the fun
SHUFFLE!!
B
Shuffle,shuffle, shuffle
I sometimes think it would be interesting having two goals and two scrum balls at the same time. (oops doublemint girls flashback)
Or maybe one goal and two scrumballs. It would mean the teams would have to be observant to cover both goals at the same time. I probably wouldn't do every game that way, rather just throw those in there for fun.
Just a thought.
CONGRATS TO THE PSL8 CHAMPS!!

LEAGUE BUSINESS FEB 3
a. If the answer to your question is stated in the recurring post at top and you ask it anyway, the odds that your next three questions will be answered enter the asymptotical approach to zero.
b. No more than 5 people per team should be on a server at once, one of which must be an observer, marked as such, or not be there at all.
c. Games begin when the clock ticks down to zero and the server flips. No more diving. This is why it is essential that teams show up on time, it not EARLY (Early meaning *not late,* maybe even a few minutes before the minute the game is scheduled to start.")
POST-SEASON NEWS:

Team Statistics
Observer Script for PSL
League Rules for Observer
1. A maximum of 2 observers is allowed per game.
2. Servers must not be set to more than 10 players.
3. The participation of any observers MUST be mutually agreed upon by both Team Captains prior to the start of the game.
4. Observers should be changed to RED color by the admin if possible, or the observer should modify their name to indicate they are observing (e.g. Tally Ho (Obs)).
5. Observers should not participate in any way during the game. This means no chatting!
Home Fields <----- Click for screenies of the maps.
Home games are to be played on your Home Field. In addition, each team playing on their Home Field should also host that game if possible. That way any 'advantage' to hosting one's own game will even out over the season.
