Sounds interesting Tally. I wonder how the bottom 2 teams feel about that though.

Looks like Sheep and Corset were the only teams to play a full compliment. What's happening? Are we falling apart here?

ACA- I think you're standings chart is wrong. We should have 13, just like Horde. Thx

Correction: Horde and Clonus played a 3 on 3 too.

A thought I sent to Tally:

- Rank the teams by points, from highest to lowest

- Merge the highest team with the lowest, the second highest with the second lowest, etc

- the merged teams absorb everything about their progenitors, wins, losses, etc

- Move the games to 4-4 to accomodate larger team sizes. (optional)

Friday, March 19, 2004 at 10:35:38 AM

Another idea would be to merge the teams as above, but make them "superteams". The schedule remains unchanged, except when the two halves would play against each other - this is a Bye. But if a team is going to be short, they can borrow a player from the other team.

The only change this might cause is having the shuffle play times around so that the two halves don't play at the same time.

Yes, I am interested. When do we play, Tuesdays?

Racer, games are on Monday's and Thursdays. Start times vary from 7:00 PM PST to 7:30 PM PST. This has all been posted here elsewhere.

Bolo could've used you last night. Too bad you couldn't show up.

@ OM - I must have entered a loss to you by accident from last night's game. Could you confirm what you believe your total # of losses to be? In the meantime I'll change your stats for 4 wins and 3 losses. Tell me if this is not the case.

I think the ideal would be to relax the schedule and spread it over a longer period of time. One match per week would be ideal. I think we could avoid a lot of no-shows that way and those who play in other leagues wouldn't be so hard pressed to make match times as well.

As far as team mergers etc, that may get too complicated. I don't mind the 4 man team set up. I think we'll just need a bigger pool or alternates next time. Maybe we could have a 2nd draft as part of the Psychoscrum 6.0. The 2nd draft could take place after the 4th game or so. This would give captains the oportunity to drop dead-beat players and pick up new/dependable ones. If we stick to this system I think we will eventually weed out dead-beats and get a more lean/dependable bunch in the league.

ACA -we have 4 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie.

That puts us at 13 pts. 4 x 3 = 12 + 1 (tie) = 13

Thanks- OM

I agree with spreading it out to one match a week.

Although on paper 2 matches per week seems to work, in practice, it appears it's hard for all players to show up. It's stressing my schedule too. Now that I'm in the BM league, I have on avg. 3 serious games a week. Doesn't sound like much, but we all have other priorities outside of this (too bad :P )

So, maybe loosening it up should be considered. I'm for it.

Like a bowling league. If we find a player short. Take the team average points per game and divide by 3. This will be the handicape we would allow to have a game of 3 vs 2.

I personally don't care about the score. I got into the league to get a good game. I also can't tell which comes first. If you are a team with a bad record. Do players stop coming as a result? Or is it, they have a bad record because they don't come out and play?

Also, I find it very interesting. There are Vet. Players who can take it to another level, say Level 11. I've seen it. Tally Ho, Hugo, prey, MP... It doesn't happen often. I think it is because it doesn't make a fair competitive game? Outside the league DJ and I have a smilely contest. Trying to out do each other. Very selfish fun. In a team game, you should promote the team.

.... :(....

I can't wait until I finally get to go home and use my own friggin network. I'm really sorry about this BS, guys. I'll be there for both Mon and Thur game next week. I MIGHT be on the Monday game of 29th, but I'll be gone to FT Lewis on the 30th. I guess I should have re-considered being in the tourney with it overlapping my de-mobilization period. It's really getting hard for me to clear the time slots. You'll have a better team next time, Bolo! You deserve it.

I think team mergers would be complicated at this point... U live n u learn... We might as well jus let this play out. Hate to be fightin for last, but I dont feel it is a reflection of our teams skill as much as it is a reflection of no shows n bad breaks with 3 shorthanded games to date. I say keep it at 2 games a week for the rest of the season, as I wanna end the agony asap, go back to training camp, n get a fresh start.

Jus my 2 cents

I'm with Rook $ - Yea, let's finish this season with 2 games a week. Next season should go on a one game a week schedule.

1- It's the captains job to recruit new players for the league. When I was managing PSL3.0 I was going OUT OF MY WAY to have extra players. Hell, we had 7-8-9 players in the team. Always a few players missing, a few others AWOL, a few last mnute 'OMG can't play' type. My priority was to have the teams field full teams (5x5 at times). I would go out in the field and ask good players I knew to join, even right before a game (but DON"T DO THAT)

2- Bolo, ACA, & others missing manpower, there is a good force pool out there of talented and good-mannered Team Scrum players. Go get'em for the league! (Bolo I know you been trying hard,) Zimp, Tankor, Racer, all old timers. They should ALREADY be in PSL5.0. Every night is recruiting night! WE NEED FRESH BLOOD TO FEED THE PSL5.0 SCRUM MACHINE.

Even Tanky would do.

wooooot

Captains got my email about getting players. Nothing changes with regard to that. Look for as many players as u want.

Friday, March 19, 2004 at 6:27:38 PM

@ all

Lets play it out this season. We live and learn

@ hugo

I was under the impression that we had to recruit for the league and get it approved by tally, not get somone right b4 a game and say they are on the team...

@aca

Kkb has at least two mvp votes. One from myself and om for thurs game

Is that how it works, they get one for each vote? I was under the impression that counted as one total, but if it's two that's cool with me.

Monday, March 22, 2004 at 11:00:17 PM

Think since I have 3 on my roster I should be the first to get a new recruit. I dont care who it is. Zimp, merv, hum |bot|, whatever. If people have to play shorthanded too bad. We have done that 3 times already cause I couldnt get any dedicated members. Let the hammer decide. Also when jb leaves we will have 2 for all frantic games. We need a third. If we dont get a third I wont play. Fyi

What happened with TankOr tonight

Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 1:51:06 AM

The Horde 20 - Glamdring 16 ...8-8 and 12-8

WOW! What fantastic games! Absolutely dead even, with even freebies and extremely hard fought goals until the last, say, two minutes of game 2 when Horde got an edge. And once again Mystery Man gets the unanimous votes for MVP with some hellacious D in Game 1 and turning on the scoring in Game 2.

Those were great games all around on both sides of the scrum!

Glamdring vs Horde

Final: 20 - 16

Game 1: 8 -8 Tie

Game 2: 12 -8 Horde

I didn't think it was possible to have a more intense battle than the one we had against Host a few weeks back, but we managed to do just that tonight against The Horde.

Both games were very close intense fights. Game one ended in an 8 - 8 tie. Neck and neck the whole way and it ended like that.

Game 2 saw Horde jump out to an early lead, only to see Glamdring fight back to tie it up. From then on it was a neck and neck battle nearly the whole time. Went back and forth. They would score, we would score. They would score, we would score. They would score well you get the picture. It was only in the last 3 or so minutes that Horde managed to pull away to take a good lead that was difficult for us to come back from.

Overall excellent playing on the part of both teams, but Horde really managed to control the goal and had some excellent blocks that led to excellent scoring. A few of their scores nearly made me cry. Some definite respect goes out to Ge0rge, Sherm and MM for some great hard fought games.

I vote for Mystery Man as MVP. His scoring in game 2 really put the Horde on top.

GG's ALL!

3/22/04 Shell Shockers vs. Clonus Horror

Shell Shockers over Clonus Horror 25 - 13

Baklava sits out

MVP = Rooks (I got the kills he got the goals)

Fun games. Fb's balanced. Shockers had bigger guns, more luck, and good moves...

Game 2: We won, 6-5 in a brutal slugging match in Cranium Crater.

Game 1: 8 Freebies later, we lose 15-4. And lest you think I'm giving the freebies as an excuse, even if you take them out of the score, we still lost 7-4, enough to lose the series to them.

Tonight was a game of 4 on 4, as Host had 100% turnout for the first time ever. Even -z- showed up! (hoping his computer problems are a thing of the past) Besides the freebies, we had some additional problems jelling in game 1, with 2 brand-new players in the mix (Leopard and -z-), not to mention never having played a 4-on-4 game before. We worked together better in game 2, but there was still some conflicts going on, as -z- was blocked from the goal 3 times in a row by his own team (by me at least one of those times).

The Black Sheep not only had excellent luck on the spawns (clearing out the goal becomes MUCH harder when everyone you kill keeps respawning in the goal >:( ), but better teamwork. I saw lots of scrum-passing amongst them - they didn't necessarily wait until they were smoking to pass the scrum.

*sigh* I would much rather have won out...
