Eh, forgot to post last night about Black Sheep vs Glamdring game.

Well, I can sum it by saying we got beat good by the Sheep.

In detail, the game started a bit late because of trying to figure out if we were to do a 3 on 3 or 4 on 4. We decided on a 4 on 4, even though Dar was somewhat hobbled on a slower comp.

Once we got going, the first game conked out several minutes into the game when Reagent X's server died. We reconvened in JJ's 4.0 server to start anew.

So, the REAL first game saw the Black Sheep start off with the lead. Glamdring tried valiantly to fight back, but in the end, the Sheep prevailed with a 7 - 5 win. A good game, with lots of intense "at the goal" battles.

Game 2, Glamdring fell apart a little under the pressure of the Sheep, and let them take the game 11 - 7. Many factors contributed here, including Glamdring not being in our best form, Dar having some difficulty playing his best on the slower comp, some mistakes on my part where I practically handed the ball to the Sheep. But, the major factor was that we were simply outmatched by the Sheep, who really had their team game on last night.

I request that the Black Sheep officially change their name to Killer Rabbits , because they seemed to multiply like them throughout both games. No matter how many times we killed them to try to clear the goal, they were back Baaaa'ing in our faces at the goal, being general nuisances. Made it rather difficult to score. Someday, after all this is over, I want to learn how they can seemingly teleport across the map like they did last night %)

The individual scores in the screenshot from game 2 is not accurate because JJ got bumped off during the game when his virus software kicked in when it wasn't supposed to. Hugo was good enough to sit and observe until JJ could re-enter. He really scored most of the goals in game 2 for our team. Played his little heart out he did.

Thanks for the good games Sheep! We look forward to our rematch!

At the half way point in the season, Tally Ho has made the bold prediction....

"The Guarantee... We will win out "...He's coming out the second half with white shoes....

He's pushing the pump and is now two inches taller than the rest of us tanks..This could be it...?

Tally Ho has joined the Rubes.... ?

Hmmm. Could Tally join the Rubes?

Maybe we can have some free agent trading before mid season then, please...

Fast, contract talks immediately.

Either that or Hugo needs to explain to us noobies what the "HYPER PASS" is.

*What the heck is a "hyper pass"?*

Don't think Glamring would have lost if we knew what the hyper pass was.

*Hyper Pass something developed in Hugo's lab for team game play? Blah*

Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 1:39:11 PM

@ Flea

Is that "a good thing?" :)

Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 1:51:21 PM

S'okay, Flea. We can just serve up a big helping of Whoopa$$. XD

Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 1:52:05 PM

First, we need to find our warehouse full of Whoopa$$ cans...

Now, where did I put that secret treasure map? It's gotta be around here somewhere...

LOL Sherm!

And what's all this Tally trading talk? Did Martho have a verbal agreement to sell when his stock fell below...

Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 3:13:02 PM

@ OM: I like the Killer Rabbits ! Sweet name for a team XD

@ All: re. Hyper-Pass. The HyperPass is an experimental and evolutionary concept developed by the Black Sheep Institute for Higher Technology and Applied Lame Ass Ideas. It consist in passing more then what normal decency and reasonable game play would allow. Early test showed that this concept looked really good on paper but is somehow difficult to apply against moving and shooting target. Our testing Bots (Woola Wanka, Sheared Sheeplet, Little BoPeep & others) were wayyy more friendly than the PsychoScrum foes.

Nice game by the shell shockers, upset of the week. Congrats on getting off the shnide.

Font issues, the table may be slightly jacked up for a bit.

Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 4:39:03 PM

@Tally: Shell Shockers and the Horde are only showing 6 games in the stats. SS should be 1,5,1.

I think I refreshed this page about 30 times waiting for the moment that we wouldn't be last. XD No offense to the new guys, but we've been there for a while, and it feels good to get off the ground!

From the depths of the Fellowship Addicts about Glamdring: "Actually, the literal translation of glam is 'noise', not 'foe'. 'Foe-hammer' comes from glamhoth dring, 'noise-host hammer' - glamhoth is an Elvish term for Orcs."

So, we're up against a noisy sword next, eh? We'll silence your yappin! No more foreplay!

Yes, but the "glamhoth" reference was an Elvish term for Orcs, not that the sword itself was noisy. More as in "Orcs like to make a lot of noise", and Glamhoth-dring or Glamdring for short was the Hammer/sword that silenced them.

The "noisy" bit reminds me of a certain team, making lots of noise about how they'll beat us. We took you down the first timewe can do it again. X/

Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 6:03:25 PM

@ Tally: The Horde should have 10 points: 3 wins, 3 losses, 1 tie.

@ OM: JB was the only one from our team who made noise so far, but I shall add to the noise... Fact is, I take offence to ur foolish confidence, no matter how noisy your sword is... Dont be fooled by the record... We could easily be tied with u had it not been for 2 shorthanded games at the start of the season... Game is thursday... STRAP UP! PREPARE TO GET SHELL SHOCKED!

Meh. Honestly, this was not what I consider fun. The fact is that winning a 3 on 2 in this league is a near impossibility. Under different circumstances, it's possible, but not here.

No need to go into details of the game. I will say that I'm impressed with the effort Shell Shockers put in in this match. They actually had me slightly nervous in game 1. In game 2, the wind seemed to be taken out of their sails a bit, but they still fought valiantly, making some excellent moves to capture some points.

This match may have turned out differently if Shockers had a full team tonight.

I'm sorry it had to turn out this way.

Bolo and I are in agreement. MVP to KKB

The Horde 20 - The Clonus Horror 10 (9-6/11-4)

Clonus was down 3-2 for the first minute or so in Game 1 but we were only ahead by one goal at that point (and I was worried when their full complement kicked in). But Mystery Man tore up the opposition once again and Vash had his goal magnet cranked up tonight, keeping ACA, gerb and Az in check. Good games, all!

18 March Thursday Game Rubes vs Host Totals: 22 to 18 ?

The 7:30 rolled around and the game restarted. We had DJ, 44 & PREY vs Tally Ho and Leopard. We waited for the next restart to see if Master TMO would show. Nothing. We decided rather than wait for the next re-start I would bounce the Server. Once we got on, it would be a 2 on 3. Problem was only Tally showed for HOST. It was 3 on 1. Fo fo (44) decided that he had waited long enough an left. He had 5 hours time to sleep before catching a flight (East Coast). Sorry fo fo. So then it was 2 on 1. Well, actually PREY was just watching as DJ and Tally went at it for game 1. Near the end Master TMO shows.

Game 1: 12 to 6 Rubes

2nd Game So we now have a 2 on 2. We attempt to play the game, while PREY just shadow follows players in discust and gets shot a lot. DJ continues to play hard. Tally Ho and Master TMO give a killer effort.

Game 2: 13 to 10 Host.

Perhaps the league is too long. Maybe leagues should only be 7 games? The no shows are getting worse. I can say that we will not have 44 on Monday. I didn't hear from WeenTank. If he doesn't show on Monday, we will end up playing 3 on 2 against Steel Corset.

3-2, eh? We got ya beat. At the start of our match it was 2-1. Tally was the only person from our team to show. Flea was out tonight, we knew that in advance. I couldn't see the server. GAH! We recruited our 4th teammate to fill for Flea tonight, I never saw him. The Rubes only fielded Prey and DJ_Breaka.

Fortunately I did finally manage to see the server and join before the end of the first game. We tried our hardest, but the Rubes still won by 6 in the first game. The second game we kept pounding away. At one point we were ahead by 6, but couldn't maintain that lead. DJ's magic started kicking in toward the end, giving them a couple scores that let them win the series by 3 points.

By the way, if anybody who reads this was in either of the two servers I jumped in asking for help, I have a few words for you... Damn, this forum is moderated, isn't it? Well, crud, I can't say to you what I want to say. Suffice it to say that those of you whose names I remember are on my permanent s**tlist. Supra, Demo (attack2), Hum IBotI... I'll remember the others as I see them in games.

Prey/DJ - good games. We tried hard. I'd like to think that I managed to keep DJ's magic touch under control for most of the game, but there was a limit to how much I could do. You guys played well.

Friday, March 19, 2004 at 2:08:48 AM

Friday, March 19, 2004 at 2:27:53 AM

@ Rook$ - Regarding adding average points allowed to stats - Hmmm, since I didn't collect data specific to scores allowed up to this point, it would be hard to get this into the stats without having all the screenies to go back to. We can get that going fresh for next season tho.

I'm thinking we can fold the bottom two teams into the rest, a proposal.

Friday, March 19, 2004 at 4:17:25 AM

That would, buy the way, leave us in last place.
