Regarding our "switch". I thought I was pretty clear explaining it before the game started.

I asked the shell shockers for a response and received a "cool" from Rook$ and "whatever" from bolo, no response from jb though he was in server so I figured our intentions were clear.

Incoming player "freezes" until outgoing person leaves the game.

Sorry for the confusion.

It's just HugoBaaaarain needs his 2 hour full body massage before every game and......

Btw - mucho luck (not that you need luck) bolo on the job prospect.

If you need letters of reference I'm sure some from:

Ass Clone Army, Tally Ho , Prey, James Bomb, Prey and the cast of thousands of Think Tanks denizens would greatly help your chances!

X guys.....just gotta cash flow problem now...the tech market sucks...hope to start somewhere soon. Im sick of contracting..time for something permanent...either way I still will enjoy a early late game of FOS and some weekend hangover games...LOL

Ahhh, the Clones secured a their second win of the season!!! For AZ and I, Frantic is one of our native hunting grounds. Gerbil picked up the vibe pretty quick too with at least 2 unassisted goals while outnumbered. Seems the Horror is finally clicking in the final leg of the leauge games now.

As for Host, they played very well and were reorganizing with a new draftee (goes under the name of Scooby Doo?). Dispite his newbie status, Scoob managed to lay a significant amount of lead on and score a few to boot. I have to say, Master TMO was the grand pain in my arse being lead scorer and seemingly most aggressive defender for the opposition. Great games.

On Monday the Rubes can expect to experience the revived Horror for themselves.

Till then (hands mic to AZ),

FYI to all Caps-

As of now, JJ from my team will need to sit out of the remainder of the league games. He is swamped with work and other issues, so he isn't able to properly spare the time anymore. He offered to stay on as a sub in an emergency, and I'm taking him up on that. But going forward, I'll be relying on Dar and KKB to fill out the roster. There's only 2 weeks left to this, and I'm hoping we'll all be able to make these last few games.

At this point, I don't think I'll need an extra player, but I'll have to see how it goes. I just wanted to inform you all of the situation. So it's 3 on 3 games for us for the last leg of this.

Frankly, I'll be happy when this is all over. I'm starting to get weary :'(

We have a suprise for the Black Sheep... We've captured one of their teleporters..

We first experimented with WeenTank and ran into some problems. He ended up gone for a couple of weeks..... Ack! DJ_Breaka was very flustrated in getting him back....

"Can't change the laws of physics!" ... The problem was solved by a area effect carfully placed by 44. Woot! Here is a picture of Weentank re-materializing....

The Black Sheep Experimental Research Station would like to independently confirm PREY's reports of Weentank's recent Teleporter experiments. We were recenty alerted to a breech in security in one of our remote testing grounds. As the Black Sheep were grazing in our special formula grass fields at the time, BABA immediately ordered us to rush back to the Baaarnyard Surveillance Center and examine our remote monitors. We were able to see PREY at the control panel using the Transporter to beam Weentank back to the Rubes Headquarters. When we tried to shut the system down, Weentank was in fact lost.

It was only several days later when HugoBaarain noticed this transmission from his tricorder:

It shows Weentank beaming into one of our Top Secret nutrient growing areas and sampling the goods! This was just days before we were about to implement our diabolical master plan to send the Black Sheep out and implant the entire crop in each of the four Lush maps. Makes for good Sheep grazing, but can confuse opposing teams.

BELLEVILLE CITY RECOGNIZING ITS HERO

Belleville , Alabaaama. From a Wooly Wanka story. (Reuteurs )

Today the city of Belleville inaugurated an official monument erected to celebrate the national exploits of one of her son. Raised in the local suburban lush fields, it is with great pride that Belleville celebrates Hugobrain lifetime achievements. An effusive Belleville mayor gave an inspiring speech: "Baaaaa (...) bleeee-eet (...) and squeeeeeeaaal!"

One of the star player from the Black Sheep Team of the PsychoScrum League, Hugobraarain never ceased to amaze his numerous female fans with his combination of hyper-passes, herd-action, fleece-relays and back-flip shearing.

Attending the ceremony were also BS's Captain BaaBaa, forward player MJ, and wingman Reagent X.

3/29/04 Shell Shockers vs. Steel Corset

Ben and Paisano sit out

MVP = Bolo

Total score shockers over corset 18 - 16

Whew another REALLY close game...Heart pounding the whole time...Lots of fun...bolo got a few more spawns than the rest and racked up a lot of points. I also played really well...Totally was a team effort. FYI zimp, our newest member played great defense and had some key kills and goals...too bad he might resign from the league...i felt a loss with no JB but zimp made it to the game to complete the lineup...rooks had a key last second goal...TG had the best steal...had me worried more than a few times...Best part is when an arrow sent MP waaay off a cliff. LMAO!! Great fun peoples

I really hope TG didnt sacrifice another mouse on this occasion...and I think she just made me an enemy for life lol

Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 7:01:52 AM

Greetings, my fellow scrummers! I found the computer lab, here. Yes, it really is 1:50AM here. It's been a long day. Don't ask

Anyhow, thought I'd check in to see how my team is doing. First off: XD XD XD XD Out-friggin-standing, Shell Shockers!!! Corsets get loosened and dropped again! Got your email about Zimp. Is there a prize for the team with the highest turn-over rate? It seems Bolo is running a team of office temps! He spends more time recruiting than practicing. :P

In the next Psychoscrum League, we need to find a way to make it a bit less competitive. Seems the game is getting a tad too serious. In the old Psychoscrum games, there was still chatting going on, and there wasn't as much ferocity. Perhaps we need to go back to bigger teams (4on4, 5on5), so that there isn't as much emphasis on each player? I admit I think 3on3 is the most strategic game, but I almost got burned out in this league, and it sounds like others are taking it too seriously as well. This way there would be fewer games to schedule as well. This is just my opinion, and I should save this for when I return and we start a new thread anyhow.

Once again, congratulations, Bolo! Sorry, I couldn't be a part of it. BlechI need to get some sleep.

JB, different teams have different vibes I guess. My favorite games were the original 5x5 Psycho Scrum 1-3 games probably. I missed out on 4. Sure not as much pressure on each player but very competitive nonetheless.

3x3 is great but you have to really click as a team. More suited to tournaments maybe for some who appreciate the strategic aspect of it. I can go either way. Also, in the instances of being short handed 5x4 is much more of a match than 3x2 which turns into a cake walk. I'd put my vote in for going to 4 or 5 player teams next season.

Guess we'll all sort it out after the season is through. Hurry back!

GG's Rubes. They're all yours Hugo. Stop them!

...dont know about 5 on 5...sooo many players especially in lush maps...comes down to luck and BMing more than anything...i played a couple games of last psycho and it was nothing compared to this....maybe 4 on 4....dont know but 3 on 3 has less lag and more reliance as a team...i have one HELL of a time keeping 3 players at a time...dont know about keeping 5....

Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 9:56:56 AM

I have to admit that 4 on 4 or 5 on 5 would balance out the playing field in that any weak spots on a team would be less noticeable and absorbed by the other players. In 3 on 3, the weak spots really stand out more. That said, I do prefer 3 on 3 more for the strategic element and oportunity to get more play. As the league stands, I think it works great for 3 on 3 since all the players in league are, in my opinion, some of the best players in the TT world. My feeling is that if we bump up to 4 or 5 players per team with the level of expertise we have, it will turn into a BM fest rather than a scrum match.

My vote is to keep the leage lean and mean with good players and 3 on 3 format.

The Clonus Horror vs the Rubes results:

21 to 20 Rubes.

I was getting ready to write a greek tradgedy dedicated to the Rubes as at game time, they only had 2 players showing while the Horror was in full effect. Well, as soon as I had one line of prose down, DJ showed up, thus changing the course of history forever.

It was a well fought game from both sides. Rubes took the first game 12 to 9 and the Clones the second game 11 to 9. AZ was the definitive power for the Clones while 44 was the Horror's bane, earning him the MVP vote from both teams.

Very close games overall. Bittersweet for the Clones in that it was a loss, but was a game that showed a last place team had a shot at toppling one top 2 teams in the league (woot woot for the Shell Shockers BTW!!! The Steel Corset is looking to be a bit more like a teddy!!).

Til Thursday then, when Glamdring will suffer their worst nightmare. OHHHHH THE HORROR!!!!!!

Host over The Horde: 460 to 18. Thanks for posting the screenies, -Z-! Hmm, what's this?

"Upon further review, it is ruled that the player -Z- code-sliced a power up from his opponent. The penalty is 450 points and a system downgrade to a TRS80." We're taking the point penalty, but are in agreement that the second part is too harsh. Send Vash an eight-pack of Guinness and we'll call it good.

Hey guys maybe do a clean up on some of the pics to make the thread more snappy. We only have 1 week left.

Bolo, luck & BM' ing more than anything in 5x5 ??. NO WAY. More like good scrumming wins games in 5x5. Just like any other format really. Unless of course you want more freebies maybe I suppose. 3x3 is good for that. Are all the nightly 5x5 games just won on luck & BM'ing? Hey why do use the term BM'ing anyway? Being more offensive with your gun isn't BM'ing. Not playing the game and going for kills is BM'ing.

The way to 5x5 is fewer teams with more reserves.

5x5 of course still involves skill, but you have to admit that there are more goal melee's in that format. At least in 3 on 3, there's more flow to the game. Not so much 'run to goal to join the crowd killing each other and hope you score' If the next league goes 5x5 I will likely not join. Too much craziness. 4x4 is the most I can deal with before it starts to get frustrating, but then that's me. I'm sure everyone will have a different opinion on it.

What I'd like to see is maybe 5 members on a team, but still have 3x3 games, or 4x4 if agreed to by the team caps. That would make it easier to have full teams of at least 3 on each, so we don't have the unfair wins that occurred this season. Thoughts on that?

Om, The melee's at the goal are just where the game got it's name. I prefer intense games. Any format I'll show up.

In fairness to all I think 4x4 at least would add a competitiveness perhaps.

Yeah I sort of agree OM about having 2 reserves. Compared to previous league seasons however attendance seems to be pretty good this season. I guess it improves each go round really.

Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 8:09:50 PM

In the spirit of empirical TS calibration, it seems the next logical step is a 4x4 league or tourney. Perhaps 6-player rosters would keep the no-show blues at bay, but based on some of the thinness observed in the 4-team 5x5 PS league at the beginning of the year the roster may need to be bigger per team.
