CONGRATS TO THE PSL8 CHAMPS!!
THE CEREBROS LOCOS!!

Check out the Highlight Reel of the Championship Match!

LEAGUE BUSINESS FEB 3
a. If the answer to your question is stated in the recurring post at top and you ask it anyway, the odds that your next three questions will be answered enter the asymptotical approach to zero.
b. No more than 5 people per team should be on a server at once, one of which must be an observer, marked as such, or not be there at all.
c. Games begin when the clock ticks down to zero and the server flips. No more diving. This is why it is essential that teams show up on time, it not EARLY (Early meaning *not late,* maybe even a few minutes before the minute the game is scheduled to start.")

POST-SEASON NEWS:
Teams that finish in second (2) and third (3) place will vie on the 2nd place team's home court.

{{{{{ In the event of a tie at season's end, the team with the better head-to-head record will host the match. In the even the record is tied, the team with the better goals scored/allowed ratio will host the match }}}}}

Winner will play first place team in their house. Bring a bottle of wine for the chef.

Let the games begin!!!

Team Rosters

Score Board

Game Schedule

Each match consists of 2 games. Match scoring will be used like last season (W = 2 pts, L = 0 pts, T = 1 pt, W both games = 1 extra point).

Team Statistics

Observer Script for PSL

League Rules for Observer
1. A maximum of 2 observers is allowed per game.
2. Servers must not be set to more than 10 players.
3. The participation of any observers MUST be mutually agreed upon by both Team Captains prior to the start of the game.
4. Observers should be changed to RED color by the admin if possible, or the observer should modify their name to indicate they are observing (e.g. Tally Ho (Obs)).
5. Observers should not participate in any way during the game. This means no chatting!

Home Fields <----- Click for screenies of the maps.

Home games are to be played on your Home Field. In addition, each team playing on their Home Field should also host that game if possible. That way any 'advantage' to hosting one's own game will even out over the season.

^TAKE A MIDOL

I know nothing about server connectivity and I'm not going to pretend I do.
From my knowing, it is almost impossible to single out a single user and LABEL them as the source of the problem, espiecally with my given specs and connection. Altough my connection was running 1600+ packets which is...laggy? Good? No idea.
Also the server connection could be completely dependant on the location of the user in coresspondece to the hoster.I don't know. In that case. Seems logical, BC is located down south and in the LBz.

So listen here buster,

TT STATISTICS:
HOSS'S PING AVERAGE-
RX'S:-100
SLUGGYS:-100 -approximately

MM'S:5456346445
BC'S:6546457654756745

Its impossible for a server to lag once someone laggy comes in. Completely impossible. Even before hossil came in I was freezing for 5 secs every time I hit someone with a bullet, or I hit another player. I dont know why but even though my ping was 145(and im on T1) it seemed I couldnt move or shoot the entire game, whether hossil was there or not.

I dont mean to brag but me and my team say my server is nearly ping free. Im sure everyone wouldnt care if I hosted a few times, would they?

It's not at all impossible. I've seen it happen many times. I've been in several situations where everyone runs fine till someone new joins in and everyone gets laggy. It was then tested by asking the person to leave for a couple minutes and come back. When they did, so did the lag. When they came back, so did the lag.

It happens.

Ya those were some were some interesting games. I did a speed check before the game to speakeasy.net out in CA. I was getting 4000 Kbps down and 380 kpbs up, right inline with other Roadrunner users in the area. Yet Hossil was still pinging over 200 on my server. I wouldn't want to play with that either, so we went to BC's. I have played alot of games on BC server and have never lagged like that. I normally get in the high 60's there and last night I was over 100. I don't mind high ping so much, I play that way on a lot of west cost servers. It's when you can't see most of your bullets or put a few clips in a guy and he doesn't pop his top that gets me.

I disagree, I think one persons lag can affect others. I have seen it a few times when I go into a server that is lagging and one person is pinging high and almost as soon as they leave I stop bumping into rocks.

Well, I hate to disagree Gee Joe and Hoss... But I got BOOTED TWICE DURING THE THREE ON THREE TOURNAMENT AGAINST MP, HOSSIL AND WALRUS. I never have been booted b4 nor have I experienced SEVERE lag. I dont have the best system in the world (HP pavilion mx75 w high speed), but my puter actually froze during game two of the 3 on 3. I had to turn it off at the flippin surge protector!!! I think it is in leau of something on Hossil/appleyard's end. ;)

Maybe we should ask some other non-technical players how networks operate, how machine connectivity and network latency work?

If you don't know how it works, you should state you opinion as just that, an opinion.

There are other factors to a game (or servers) performance than just network connectivity. Network is the most forefront and key for all players but it is not the whole story.

As I have stated many times in the past I get one of the best pings in many of the most common servers, but am unable to play a decent game in Leopards Lair. Even when getting a ping under 40ms.

Napalm is absolutely right.

I do think something weird was going on last night. One minute my list of servers would be all green, the next it would be all red. I shutdown my home network and pluged my computer directly into the modem and experienced the same thing.

I would be curious to hear from someone who knows how the relationship between the master server and child servers works. For instance, when I join a game I connect to that child server, but what happens to my connection to the master server? Does it hang around? If the master server starts having issues then what happens to my experience while playing?

Sil

Connection to master server does not persist. Your computer just asks it for
a list of servers and then closes the connection to the master server. Its a very light weight connection last time I looked into it the amount of data passed from
master to your computer during said connection was less than 1KB, aka miniscule

I hosted a game for TWM v DVG and it was fine, so.....?

Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 10:16:22 AM

O damn.
My apologies to the Fleas and o Cerebros.
I had forgotten about my airport express, which I usually unplug before hosting and such.
I think it eats a bit of free bandwidth and was probably to blame for everyone's nausea.
I am very sorry.
gak.

The New and Improved Killer Flea Tank is about 50% complete. Once it rolls off the assemblylines, I don't think we'll have any more troubles. ;)

Opened the paper this morning and saw the Sheep have an undercover agent in Wisconsin! Either that, or they really did spawn in Cleveland and he's just making his way back home.

Bighorn ram on the lam is Walworth County mystery
Dubbed Big Al, the sheep has been seen numerous times since November roaming an area in Walworth County. It may be a wild bighorn or it may be another species of sheep, but this is how people have described it: brown, shaggy, curled horns and white butt.

"It saw me and I saw it and it was gone. I never realized those things could run that quick."

Operation Desert Wool a Success!

The Black Sheep casually meander home after successfully completing Operation Desert Wool. "I'm exhausted, but am so proud of my Sheep!" said Captain Baba. "Some say that holding on to that missle with only 3 hooves was foolish, but you must be fearless in the face of battle! Baaaaaa!"
