Eds sweep ctb via lag on babas wimpy mac and comcast? Come the f on

Anyway, we kept it tight but it took 2 tank lengths to avoid hitting something and about 4 clips to kill a runner.

Its sad that the majority of tt players are from CA and none of them offer a connection greater than cable or dsl. That simply isnt acceptable for league games.

Definately not much fun

Edit: somebody explain to me why pickup games are nearly all lag free but most of the league games are SHIT?

I was wondering the same thing^. Maybe the time? Wasn't as bad as PREY's server. LC was really lurchy. At least they were close games.

Wednesday, April 05, 2006 at 7:50:40 PM

Just a thought. Do all of these servers go through one place? That master server dilly?

Well anyway here's my pathetic attempt at an explanation. I counted 25 dedicated servers up tonight. Usually isn't there only about 10-15 servers? If so, maybe all those practice servers and what not should come down.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

Wednesday, April 05, 2006 at 7:55:56 PM

Quick score: deeks over bros, 9-4 and 8-7. Ggs, lag-free west coast gaming.

Wednesday, April 05, 2006 at 7:56:17 PM

@Rogue

I think the worst thing that can happen due to the master server is having to wait longer for refreshes of the server list.

Wednesday, April 05, 2006 at 8:27:31 PM

Another quickie Tally; BUG over HBM, 5-4 and 11-6. Don't recall anyone sniveling about lag interfering in game play. Thanks HBM.

@ROGUE
From TNL (Torque Network Library)

The default Master Server tracks a list of public servers and allows clients to query for them based on different filter criteria, including maximum number of players, region codes, game or mission type, and others.

When a client wants to initiate a connection with a server listed by the master, it can ask the Master Server to arranage a connection. The masterclient example that ships with TNL demonstrates a client/server console application that uses the Master Server to arrange connections between a client and a server instance.

Info from here -----> http://opentnl.sourceforge.net/doxytree/

Not excatly sure if TT usses all of TNL or a part of it.

Chart check. Mut v bugs for possible home field throughout the playoffs. Eds need another locos stumble v. Ham. Ctb needs a win to go from champs to chumps in only a season.
that last part sounds familiar...

Can y'all set the maximum number of players to 14 so that all the players can evaluate and communicate prior to starting time please?

Ctb needs a win to go from champs to chumps in only a season.
that last part sounds familiar...

The total domination of PSL 9 still stings doesn't it? Pick on a team that didn't lose their top draft pick why don't you?

Thursday, April 06, 2006 at 4:31:25 AM

@Tally: Eds vs. Seeds, Eds sweep 7-6, 9-7

Go Billies!

Appologies in advance from the BUGS in anticipation of all the bruised egos and smashed in turrets that the BUGs will generate by tournament's end.

And now an ode to the mighty BUGs (ala Paul Robeson):

OHHHHHHH, you are Mighty, Mighty BUGS
Oh so mighty, mighty BUGS!!

So simple, six leg-ged and TRUEEEEEE!!!

You are mighty, mighty BUGS!!
Can't be swept under RUGS!

You'll win the tourney through and THROUUUUUUUGH!!

Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 9:25:35 AM

Well....things are getting interesting

Final 2 weeks are going to provide plenty of drama I think. Both the BUGS and the MUTS have secured their playoff berths with the LOCS pretty assured of a spot too.

EDS remain on the bubble as we watch tomorrows action. Be sure we will be watching the HAM vs LOC match this week and both the CTB vs BUGS and HAM vs MUTS mathces next week closely. None of which may prove important if we dont put some points up in our game vs LOC in the final week.

CTB and HAM have their fate in their own hands....either one could be in or out with the HAM having a tougher road with matchups against the 2nd and 3rd leading teams.
CTB does have a match against league leader BUGS to close out the season, but we will see if the BUGS bring their A-game having nothing but playoff position to play for.

HBM gets 1 week to play spoiler (GO BILLIES!!!) and then will watch how things unfold in the final week. The EDS will be leading the cheering section for their game against CTB tomorrow night!

Too much can happen still for any 1st round matchup predictions......i will leave that for the magic 8 ball.

Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 10:16:31 AM

(Paul Robeson on the refrain):

La la la laaaaaaa, la la laaaaaa, LA LAAAAAAAA!!!!

Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 10:22:34 AM

ACA lay off the bottle.
LC50 how much you need to have the 8-Ball go my way?

Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 10:50:23 PM

LC50 s Pregame Preview, brought to you by Magic 8 Ball

Week 13

LCs picks (40 for 72: 56% accuracy):

Hams @ Locos : The Locos seem to be looking to tie the Billies record for most consecutive losses (7). Scientists and theologians alike are puzzled at the fall from grace of this team that so dominated the first half of the league. Repeated attempts to contact MEMPHIS were met with no comment. Meanwhile, the Hams, rested and ready, are needing big wins tonight to keep their playoff hopes alive. Game 1: Locos by 5. Game 2: Hams by 3.

Muts @ Bugs : This could very well be a preview of the championship game, assuming the Locos dont break out of their tailspin and none of the cinderella teams rise to surprise. The Bugs never loose at home (well, almost). Muts are rolling strong on a 6-game winning streak, but dont do well away from home. Expect some major action in this game, with close scores. Bugs by 1 and 1.

Seeds @ Billies : This is the swan song for the Billies, and the chance for them to play the spoiler and drag the Seeds down with them. Will the Seeds, last seasons championship team, give up another loss when they can least afford it? I side with the 8-ball. Billies end on a low note, and Seeds stay in the running. Seeds by 7 and 2.

Guest prognosticator of the week: Mr. McGill, Your Nextdoor Neighbor

Hams @ Locos : What the... You god-damn kids get the hell off my lawn! And take that metal ball with the flag on it with you! I dont care if its called a scrum-diddly-do-dah. It looks rusted, youre probably gonna cut your damn fingers on it and get lockjaw. God-damn it. Why dont you go play baseball in the park like the rest of the normal children? Half you kids look Canadian; I dont know how the hell you got all the way down here, but I bet your mothers are worried sick. No god-damn respect! These kids. Nowadays. And turn that damn music down. All day long its power up this and power up that . I just cant take it any god-damn more! Holy hell. And you with the dress, you sick little monkey, youre not foolin anyone, you nancy boy! I didnt kill 5 men in the damn war so you kids could throw that damn rusted thing around on my lawn all day, playing that music or whatever you want to.... Inviting foreigners over to stomp my bermuda grass... Damn purple balls flying everywhere. That thing lands over here one more time! God-damn it. Little punks. Nowadays.... Mother, wheres my medicine?

Muts @ Bugs :

Seeds @ Billies :

LC50 s Pregame Preview, brought to you by Magic 8 Ball

Week 14

LCs picks (43 for 78: 55% accuracy):

Locos @ Eds : The Eds need to make a strong showing against the Locos. A sweep here coupled with at least one Seeds loss will sneak them into 4th place. The Locos, still riding on the coattails of an unstoppable first half of the season performance are looking good after comfortable wins over the Hamsters last week. The worst they could do now is a 3rd place spot in the playoffs. A Locos sweep of the Eds, and they may have a shot at 1st if the Muts run into trouble against the Hams. Underdog Eds leave the Locos dumbfounded. Eds by 3 and 1.

Muts @ Hams : The Hams are the least likely of the wildcard teams to reach the Final Four. They need to sweep the Muts, convince the Locos to sweep the Eds, and get the Seeds to throw their games against the Bugs. Strangely enough, if the Hams were to sweep the Muts and the right combination of events occur, wed have a 3-way tie for 4th place. Wouldnt that be fun? Enough dreaming already. Currently on a 8-game winning streak, the Muts seemed to pick up where the Locos left off this season. Muts are looking good for pole position. Expect them to handle the on-again-off-again Hamsters by 2 and 6.

Bugs @ Seeds : The Seeds are in a tight spot. If they sweep the Bugs, they make the playoffs. One Seeds win wont guarantee a playoff spot; the Eds are close behind. Bugs, guaranteed playoff contenders, are gunning for first or second place spots if the Muts or Locos lose. Seeds have never been swept at home, however. Game 1: Seeds by 2. Game 2: Bugs by 5.

Playoff positions:
1. Muts
2. Bugs
3. Locos
4. Eds

Guest prognosticator of the week: The Weather Channel

Locos @ Eds : Game-time weather at Receptor Ridge on Wednesday night calls for a 90% chance of lava, so be sure to bundle the kiddies in aluminum foil before leaving the house. Low: 1200 Kelvin, High: 1400 Kelvin.

Muts @ Hams : Expect a Laggerstorm to roll into Need a Name midway through the first game, with ping gusts up to 160 ms. Complaining is expected to amount to at least 10 lines in some areas of the field, with localized message flooding. Should you see a lagnado approaching, take cover in the northeast corner of you tank and stay away from all doors and windows, and, whatever you do, do not approach the mobile home/trailer park section of Need a Name.

Bugs @ Seeds : Balmy, mostly sunny weather expected in Sweetwater Bay Wednesday, with UV levels peaking just before game time and highs in the 80s. Wear plenty of sunscreen and drink lots of fluids. ACA, for god-sakes, cover yourself man, its not that kind of beach.

Magic 8 Ball Question of the Week
Will we have a three-way tie for 4th?

Magic 8 Balls Answer: Very doubtful.

ACA you bad boy, can we ban him for playing naked ? %) Or just remove his stars!

Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 8:44:14 AM

The Weather Channel got your home map name wrong LC, or is switching maps your tactic?

Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 8:57:07 AM

The Bugs are horrible. They couldn't possibly win one game versus CTB.

The Locos will bring their A game and wipe the field with us.

My attempt at reverse...

LC, MVP of PSL.

Oddie? Is the Weather Channel ever right aboot anything? Weather prognosticators have about as much value as palm readers. I should know. I've got the hairiest palms east of the Mississippi and they couldn't do squat for me. "You spend a lot of time alone in the head," she says. Mularkey, I'm usually in my den.

It's been again a real fun season thanks to all. Honestly all the participants here are elite scrummers and every match up had its special thing. Thanks to all organizing and hosters and modders! If I add thanks to god and my mother who gave me the lightning quick reflexes this sounds like a victory speech......!
