I just got an email from SteAlth. It seems he is leaving TT and stepping down as Comissioner of this Tourney, and as a participant. :(

I will double-check this information! But the way it stands right now is that SteAlth has asked me to take over as Comissioner for this Tourney.

First of all, we will miss you SteAlth! We all are confident that you will come to your senses soon! ;)

Here's the bottom line on this Tourney. I will be swinging THE HAMMER! WE NEED TO GET THESE GAMES PLAYED FAST!! We need to be putiing more of an effort to get these games played AT ALL COSTS!

2 on 2 Team Scrum is one of the most intense gaming experiences ever -- because every second matters, every individual bullet you take or deliver matters, every smooth driving maneuver you nail makes the difference in winning or losing each goal. Given the intensity of these games, when we look at the intensity with which we are scheduling the matches, the difference is SHOCKING!

I'm headed to Canada for a week. I would be able to play starting next weekend or Monday evening (May 9th). Jangles and I may hook up in Toronto again if it works out.

These kinda easy wins don't say much for the sport.

Easy win? Jangs you weren't there...butt munch. We actually tied first game 8-8 and actually led with seconds left before yet another fb for bolo and hanky. I was sick as a dog too and had to go barf in second game so missed most of it....as demo had to play alone... But I made it back for game three and we gave them all they could handle in a 14-9 battle. So it wasn't an easy match, just ask them. Matter of fact, they said it would probably be tougher than the finals!

They are the best, no doubt. I am proud of the way me and Demolition held our own, despite my illness and the fact that we've not played that long together as a team where as bolo and hanky have been teammates forever. We learned a lot in this match and it will only make us better.
Look out for us in the next tournament.

It was a lot of fun to hold your own against the legends of the game and actually beat them (ok, tied....)

Funny Paisano did not metion the game where we lead 14 to 2

that game score was off cause it was 2 on 1 after I left to hurl, pal! It was close while I was in there.
Consider yourselves fortunate to make the finals. We could've won very easily with some of the many breaks you guys had.
You have to admit you had way more fbs and great spawns in goal!

Well I have make the argument, Many people are going to want ringside seats for this upcoming match.

The question is, will observers be allowed?

Personally I would like to observe and record the game so it can be posted for others to view at a later time.

I would also suggest having 3 servers to choose from for the match. Unfortunatley it appears that Bolo is decentralized from the other three players being located out west.

I can provide a server again, and I promise not to copy data to my idisk during the game this time. Hehe

Well, we gave the chumps a run for their money. If they had not spawned in the goal EVERY FREAKING TIME and gotten all the fb's it might have gone differently. Where can I get these scripts?

Just wondering by chance was Bolo & Hanky Green ? If so LC also had the same goal spawns, in goal 95 % of the time. While WN spawned 98% far away. I think we (Nuts & I) each spawned 1 time in goal per game ! I did find that very odd but oh well !

I'm not too familiar with the techincal aspects of this game and what can be done to cheat, but it sure felt like something was going on last night. Fire rates, lag at exactly the right time, spawning in the goal, and scrum position all looked fishy to me. I will give Bolo and Hanky their due...they played very well, but to have all those things happening at once makes me wonder. If you want to sound in and say it was all pings and random chance save your breath because I don't buy it.

I took Nappy's jsave file with me and was able to watch the replay of the Left Coast vs. WolfNuts game on my laptop on the plane! I have recorded many a game, but I have never been able to watch myself play before. What a trip! Thanks Nappy! Also I see Blind Cide has converted the file to Quicktime format. Perhaps he will post a link.

Hey Nappy, I noticed your observer is kind of jerky. When I observe with MM observer in my server or a few other servers (not Ho's) it is smooth as silk. Any ideas?

Can't wait to see how Apple's new Quicktime codec (H264) will work for compressing TT movies. It is supposed to be amazing! It will be part of Tiger which comes out today!

Anyway, I arrived in Toronto last night. I won't be back home until Friday the 6th. Can we schedule our finals match for Monday evening the 9th?

I think the jerky thing is just part of my DNA!

It's probably just a result of not observing enough.

I will be tossing Tiger on my machine sometime tonight after I get home. I anticipate that it will be there when I get home as I had already received confirmation it has shipped.

Let's talk observer while trying to schedule.

That's funny because Georgie was talking about Ho's just the other day:

This just proves what a (not very nice word) hanksta is. Trust me folks, we held our own against the so-called legends of the game.
We weren't impressed (not with hanky anyway). Bolo is bolo.... But his partner is overrated...period. I told my partner hours before the match that I doubted I could even play cause I was that sick...but I didn't want us to be DQ'd....so I gave it a shot and we damn near pulled off the upset. We led 8-7 with seconds left before they got a clear fb to tie. I was then so dizzy at the start of the second game that I had to go yack my brains out (it was only 4-1 when I left, not 10-1 as the dirtbag stated). By the way, we were losing 7-1 in game one before scoring 7 straight to just about win the game. I wish we recorded the games cause everyone could see how hard they played. I personally outplayed hanky for several goals in game one alone, so I understand his bitterness and juvenile comments. I know you guys played your best.

Enjoy your tainted victory, washed up has-been hanky. Ah, I feel so much better now. :)

By the way, don't bother replying hanky or bolo. Since the only reason I even bothered to still come to ptt's leagues and tournament forum was because of this 2 on 2 tourny, I can now retire completely from ptt. I've quit posting and reading all other forums on here and only came to this one for my team's matches.

I will only communicate via email, chat or in games from now on. PTT has become a breading ground for malcontents and misfits, young and old (like hanksta). I will not waste my precious time anymore with people like him. Nobody likes sore losers but even worse than that is an ungracious winner. It's a sure sign of an insecure and weak mind when someone has to constantly pound their chest and brag and boast of their conquests (however tainted it might be). Even sadder is how they hold on to the past glories (2004 champs are dead).

So I bid farewell from all parts of ptt... Even if I ever play in another tournament. I am placing all fools on permanent ignore list.
I will keep in touch with the truly great players who are also wonderfully good sports in victory or defeat. They are:

Actually this all brings up an idea I had proposed to Ho a long time ago. That was to require each game to have at least one observer present (from a preselected panel of approved 'citizens') in each game to serve as kind of a referee and/or an outside presence to keep the BS down to a minimum.

Anyway, after this Tourney is over, we all need to put our heads together and come up with some improvements on how these Tourney's should be run.

Personally, I think it is great that people really get into the game and that should be encouraged. Where else can you get this kind of heart-pumping action and intensity?

I do think the maturity level could use a little increasing in a few places %). But maybe there are some basic things we can do to make these tourney's more satisfying for all involved.

As someone who inherited the Commish job less than halfway through the tourney, here are the areas that I feel need improvement:

1. Scheduling. OMG! We really need to re-work this entirely! How about pre-set times like we have in PSL and TBM Leagues?
2. Communication. People (*cough* Hanky *cough*) need to check in more frequently. But if we went to a system like #1 things wouldn't drag on so long so there would be less need for communication in e-mail or the forums.
3. Lag. Not much we can do here, except that if we do #1 above, we could have many people put up many servers so there would be many choices.
4. Bragging rights. We need to look at these Tourney's as regularly scheduled events. The winners one Tourney may not be winners the next (OK Hanky you need to chime in here! ;) ). We all know the game is not perfect (with regard to all players not having equal lag, freebies, etc.). So we need to ease up on the dissapointment, the gloating and the rhetoric. We need to make these Tourney's more fun and more frequent so that if and when one loses, you know you can just jump in the next tourney and be guaranteed another shot.

I would love for people to chime in and post your real feelings on this. As long as I am running this this thing, I want to have a place where people can express themselves. All of us have gone overboard from time to time, or have some personality "defect" and that is OK -- we are all human. We all need to just get over it, be accepting of each other and move on.
