I just got an email from SteAlth. It seems he is leaving TT and stepping down as Comissioner of this Tourney, and as a participant. :(

I will double-check this information! But the way it stands right now is that SteAlth has asked me to take over as Comissioner for this Tourney.

First of all, we will miss you SteAlth! We all are confident that you will come to your senses soon! ;)

Here's the bottom line on this Tourney. I will be swinging THE HAMMER! WE NEED TO GET THESE GAMES PLAYED FAST!! We need to be putiing more of an effort to get these games played AT ALL COSTS!

2 on 2 Team Scrum is one of the most intense gaming experiences ever -- because every second matters, every individual bullet you take or deliver matters, every smooth driving maneuver you nail makes the difference in winning or losing each goal. Given the intensity of these games, when we look at the intensity with which we are scheduling the matches, the difference is SHOCKING!

I don't remember much discussion on it, I don't even think there was any sort of consensus on either. I know that time was a factor, and conflicts were apparent, but...

After the game one switch, the ping was better for me, much worse for my teammate, I didn't have much issue with it because anything 100 -150 pretty much plays the same for me. However, Vash initated a discussion or tried to, in which he stated his desire to move to a different server. Again no discussion, merely heavy handed statements, that this is the way it must be.

Now for me, if we are truly going to resolve the matter, then there should have been discussion, a consensus builder if you will, but no attempt was made by the other team to reach a consensus. I believe the arguments were, "our ping is better there anyway", or "it won't matter" with the intimated result that we would lose anyway. That is derogatory and offensive and seems to be a statement of fear.

I ain't the greatest loser in the world, nor am I the biggest whiner. But if you want to be fair and just, then where's the consensus, and where's the discussion? Granted this was supposed to be pregame, but how can we evaluate performance if we switch servers mid-match?

No offense to LW and Nuts, they are great players, but like I said last night, Vash and I are not exactly noobs. There are sometimes unseen circumstances which dictate outcomes and I understand that. Napalm did a great job of trying to suit our needs, and we have taken that for granted. But don't tell me things wouldn't have been different somewhere else, because from the first game's results, you BOTH know that isn't true.

Ok wait a freakin second here. You guys were complaing that LW and I had an advantage and that we were much faster than you guys because of our pings. (still don't get that since I thought speed was in the game. Only difference was I was not getting lagged out and wasnt bouncing off trees.). I did ask what you guys wanted to do and you stated go to bc or dashes. Yes I did say that my ping is better there(isnt that what you were complaining about?). Yes I did state that should we go to another server and should LW and I "happen" to win again why wouldn't we hear the same bs again.......But as for making derogatory and offensive statements that is my MO, thanks.

Yes the first games results were something like 12 to 10 and we had the lead at first and then obviously lost that at the end. I made so many freakin mistakes that game that I was telling LW how sorry I was and that he should have picked a better partner than crappy old me. Then the second game of 15 to 6 also speaks for itself, no?

Hey you know what bring it on this is BS, name the server lets do it again. I don't freakin care anymore.

Has anyone advanced by playing a full 2 on 2 match , undisputed , with no subsitutes?

My $.02 worth as an impartial observer.

A fair contest of skill and performance between WN & DS would have been most satisfying to all, even me as an observer. Unfortunately the internet was, and is, an uncooperative mistress. And then there is the issue of expediency.

This tournament will not be the absolute arbiter of which team is the best, just one flawed measurment of it.

Chicago's LAN will show you numbskulls who is the top dog! Woof. -BC

...and then there were FOUR (teams)! After all the smoke has cleared and brains popped, we have these elite eight players remaining:
Bolo
Hanksta
TallyHo
Reagent X
LoneWolf
Nuts
Demolition
Paisano

It is an honor to make the final four and be among these elite 8 players. Demo and I have not played together as long as the others but we've done well (in and out of tournaments). If not for a technical snafu in the 3 on 3 tournament, we might have gone even further. Oh well...

Speaking of the 3 on 3 tournament, it isn't a coincidence that the core members of the last two 3 on 3 championship teams are in the final four (Bolo & Hanky from 2004 and Tally Ho & Reagent X from 2005)! It shouldn't surprise anyone either if they clash in the finals! Yeah, I know I am kind of conceding our match already against Bolo and Hanky, but I'm no fool.
I know they are hall of famers and we are green horns... But it doesn't mean we will go down without a fight! They will have to earn their way into the finals to face Ho and X or Wolf & Nuts (by the way, it's also interesting to note that Lonewolf was on the 2005 championship 3 on 3 team...thus silencing those idiotic criticisms some of you made about wolf riding the coat-tails of Ho and X!).

Yes, it's been a very messy tournament (sorta like an indie scrum match with 10 elite players)!!!
Still, it's all we got. There's always the next one, which we hope only learns from the pains of the past.
We will improve the fairness of matches, servers and schedules.

I just wanted to say thank you for this comment.

I have worked very hard to be better then your normal players of this game. I have gone as far as studing every piece of PSL video I could get my hands just to see how each player plays, thinks, reacts & how they work with other people. Just in the first week before PSL8 kicked off, I spent at least 12 hours studing the finals film match from PSL7. Now I am not saying I am the best by no means but it does feel good to finally get some credit for my skills & for that I thank you Paisano ! B)

Somehow, you are always involved in every goal. It's a great knack you got.

Enjoy your 3 on 3 championship and perhaps a 2 on 2 if you can beat your own teammates! It's not going to be pretty!

Whats the deal with BH vs DP ? No date set and its now Sat at 10:21pm CST :(

I've tried wolf. We are ready any night. So is Bolo, it's Hanky as always. Mr. I've got too much going on in my life to even talk about scheduling a match. Reagent X has set a deadline for Tuesday night at 10:30 PM EST. I've accepted for my team. We will see if they show up. I am sure they will. Shoot, I bet Bolo would even play us 2 on 1 and even give us a tough time!!!

Well just incase you have any more problems with servers I will keep a 4 player server open for you to go in if you have any other problems

Still no word from hanskta about playing monday or tuesday night.

DP vs. BH scheduling has been proceeding in another thread. However, HankstaTanksta has not responded. In that thread I set a game time of tomorrow night. 3 out of 4 players have said they can play the game by then. GAME ON! If Hanky doesn't check in or show up by late tomorrow night, then it will have to be a 1 on 2* or a forfeit.

*I'll let bolo have a single gold bot as a partner if he wants.

Great match between WolfNuts and the Left Coast!

Left Coast moves on! Tough well played matches. Almost went to 3 games with Wolfie and Nuts making a strong late comeback in game 2. Great games WolfNuts! Games were played on Nappy's server and I think he said he recorded the game.

God knows what exactly happened, but it seems the BH v. DP game was not played. It seems the server was struck with major lag that affected everyone. Everyone came back to discuss what to do except for Pai. Both teams (minus Pai) agreed to replay all games from scratch. We waited for over half an hour but Pai never showed up. Given that Hanky was late, I am willing to make tomorrow night the ABSOLUTE DROP-DEAD deadline provided Pai has a reasonable excuse for disappearing.

PLEASE PREARRANGE EVERYTHING BEFOREHAND including backup servers and passwords.

Be around ho...for after we waste demo and pai AGAIN you will be next. We will do it one right after the other?
