This will be a 4 on 4 tournamnet
This will be a set day and time Wednesday nights at 09:30 Eastern Time)

Games will start Wednesday JUNE 1^st 9:30 EST, Finals will be played on August 3^rd 2005

We will utilize the home team concept as in Psycho Scrum. Home teams will be required to host their games.
Each match consists of 2 games. Match scoring will be used like last season (W = 2 pts, L = 0 pts, T = 1 pt, W both games = 1 extra point).

I think this is a great oppertunity to introduce some new maps that are a bit on the extreme side. We can include some great maps by Rooster, Dash, Monkee Man, Crapblaster, Triv, Wiz, KBC, MAX CR, Wiz, and myself.
This should add a lot of variety and keep things interesting.

Best 4 on 4 scrum game I've played in a long time.

First game: Tie 10-10
Second game: Terminators win 11-10

Ha! We fooled you all! The whole time we were going for last place, I got scared awhile back there that we might miss our goal but all is well in the end. See you suckas on the flip flop.

CTBs rocked real well tonight we take both games. GG all, see yah next week.

PS we had some super games after on PSL 9, people get the maps we will need em for the finals... B:)

How do the finals work out? 1 place plays 4 place, 2 and 3 duke it out; winners of these matches go for 1 and 2.But their is no homefield advantage....

Is this correct?

In the past, 1^st place would get a bye to the playoff, but I think it would be nice for 4 teams to play 2 playoff games.

I think having 1^st place team play the 3^rd place team, and the 2^nd place team play the 4^th place team would work well. Then the two winners would play for the championship game.

I am still looking at the maps to choose for the semi and final games.

The maps will be available 1 week prior to game time to let people get used to them, or they could be a complete suprise. What do you think?

And @Nap if 1st place played a better team, by standings atleast, than the 2nd place team, then wouldn't that defeat the purpose of winning 1st place... Although one could argue the champion team should be able to beat anyone, so in that case it wouldn't matter... Ah well whichever.

I don't understand that logic. Shouldn't it more likely to be 1st get to play against 4th and 2nd against 3rd?

I'm looking at it trying to make it as even as possible. Basically 1 and 2 are the best teams through the season. They would play 3 and 4.

Wouldn't it be kind of a waste for number 1 to play number 4? I suppose if number 1 and 2 are fairly even it would make no difference who number 4 played. Just looking for opinions.

1 should play 4. Otherwise, 2 gets a gift in playing 4, the weaker team than 3, while 1 is penalized for success during the season.

Well actually... It would seem we both still have very slim chances of making the playoffs. If MS beats SS 2 games to none, we move into a tie for 4th place with them. However, if the not so Fun Guys also win their match 2 games to none along with an MS shutout, you all would snatch up the final spot, no tiebreaker needed. However the odds are very strongly against us....

Current Vegas Line For PSL 8.5 Championship:

X-Terminators: 3-1
Special Eds: 4-1
Cuddly Teddy Bears: 8-1
Summer Scorchers: 15-1
Snowballs: 50-1
Fun Guys: 70-1 (Would require both a Fun Guy and Snowball shutout victory over XT and SS, respectively, just to make playoffs)

It's been that way for several of the captains. I know Rouge barely hears from his players and most of my players just show up for game time.

I think it's just a Summer thing. It was intended to be a casual league introducing new maps but kind morphed into a semi-legit Summer league.

Oh well, have fun it is after all a game. :)

Yah, my guys don't let me know if they're gonna be at the match or not very often, but they show up. They all have busy lives and I'd dare not harass them.
