I have set up a 7 minute rotation server with the possible maps for Summer Scrum. Please drop in and chose the maps you would like to see in the league games.

There are 17 maps from Dash, Triv/Wiz, Napalm, Rooster, Monkee Man, Crapblaster, and Killing Brain Cells.
here are some pics, I'll add more as I get them.

DOWNLOAD THE SUMMER SCRUM MAPS!!!!!
Spychoscrum 8.5 Maps!

Camelback (Napalm) This map is on the smaller size ("-104 -400 352 384") Quick rise in elevation with a couple of mounds in the center. Tricky goals and fast paced. Lots of fun. Very enjoyable.

Grape Country (Napalm) This is a bit bigger map ("-280 -312 576 576") Grape country has a few nice obstacles and slower elevation changes. There is a summit on one end decending into a valley without too many rocks or other objects. Slight purple haze to play in. Less seperated play than other maps.

RibKicker1 (Napalm) This maps has some room, ("-272 -200 592 656") but you not really running, your jumping. While playing this map I remembered riding a dirt bike as a teen and how my mid section felt after I returned home. All the jumps and woopdy doo's. It was like being kicked in the ribs. That's how this is. I suggest you tighten your computer chair setbelt. A hundred peaks to jump from :)

RibKicker2

Larchmont1 (Crapblaster)
This is a good sized map as well. ("-280 -312 576 576")
Speedpads, about 10 or so. Lots of open area. Great for gunners. Has a nice feel to the map.

Lonewolf Mountain Scrum1
I would have to say this is the largest map in the bunch. ("-512 -512 1024 1024") Oh MY thats soooo big!
This has a great deal of elevational changes. Speed pads and bounce pads are abundent. They are everywhere, but that's what make this huge map playable. Classic Luch colors as well.

Lonewolf Mountain Scrum2

Mental Lapse1
This is one of KBC's best maps to date. This map is beautiful! I fell like taking a trip there sometime. This is also a BIG map. Many elevational changes. Just enough speedpads. Very nice maps.

Mental Lapse2

MM_Lush21
A very wide ("-512 -512 1024 1024") open, primarily flat map, with standard lush colors. Another great, "shooters" scrum map.

Siberia
This map is a medium sized ("-80 -168 528 448") map. A winter wonderland. Snow falling, ice chards, 3 arctic pits. There's quite a bit going on in this map. Tons of fun!

MM_Lush09 Occipital Oasis
An all time favorite of Monkee Mans maps. A great active fun map. Medium in size. 3 well-placed speed pads and and bouncepadds. A great classic, lush, MM Scrum map.

MM_Frantic04
Again another great Frantic Monkee Man map. This is a freaquent Psychoscrum map. Very enjoyable

MM_Frantic 03r1
Again another great Frantic Monkee Man map. This is a freaquent Psychoscrum map. Very enjoyable

Will people be allowed to pick their team's home field? Or will there be no home fields...

Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 9:09:22 AM

I need to be unbanned first nap :S

Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 10:40:37 AM

@ (MF) NYPbxD (PF)

Well, if your banned you won't be able to play in this league. If you're banned, you're banned. Sorry, apparently you did behaved in some undesirable way on someone's server. Considering I don't really know you, I can not vouch for your behavior in the league. I won't jeopardize the league for a player I'm not familiar with. I have no option but to drop you from the league. Again, my apologies.

@ The Walrus
I kind of liked the home feild idea, mybe we should let the teams pick their home fields.

Here are two screenshots from the map called 'wiztriv02', titled 'Encounterrainia'.

It's a rather small, very fast paced and fun map. In the center, there is a crater with a 4-way arrow. One of the goals (the one on the pictures) is deliberately made to be a little more tricky than the rest.

Isn't this a lovely place for summer camping?

Any of the Dash and MM maps are fine with me. I don't know the maps all that well so I'm also impartial. One map that I really liked and haven't seen used recently is that MM Secret Map used in TBML. I thought it was the best map made to date for both TS and TBM.

I like the Expanded Packs that Napalm and others have done but my fear is getting people to download them correctly.

My half cent.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

Sunday, May 22, 2005 at 9:33:02 AM

Captains will be responsible for to ensure their players check out the maps. A server will have been up for 4-6 weeks prior to the tourney.

Plenty of time to check them out or even download them. Not that I would download them. LOL

Sunday, May 22, 2005 at 10:04:40 AM

Once we pick home fields, there will only be 6 maps to learn (for those who don't have a lot of time).

I started adding some comments about the maps for those who have not yet had the chance to take a look at them.

Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 7:59:00 AM

Nap, I sent the Athletic amber mod, please respond if you got it.

Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 12:56:56 PM

Racer, I did get your map and was able to open it. When I entered the mod I was dropped with the scrum at the goal but it was not there. Ir appears there's something with the spawns in the mod. I have never seen that before. I did change ythe mission name to match the terrain name. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

^ I sent it to you in a ZIP file, did you get that one? That is the correct one.

Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 1:40:11 PM

Yes that's the one I used. I experienced the above situation. Prior to the zip I received errors on launch.

^^, maybe you inserted the goals from within TGE? In that case it won't work since the goals are actual spawn points. Just a thought.

Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 10:01:49 PM

^ no, I didn't. I'll get a different map.

Thursday, May 26, 2005 at 5:24:21 AM

I have seen this in my maps once. It was the default spawn point that was under the terrain. I had to remove it. An additional weird thing I noticed with Racers map, is that if I took it into TGE, the terrain appeared to be flat and all of the objects (trees, rocks were all floating.) I'm not sure if this has something to do with the naming convention. I have not seen this in any of my maps so I'm not exactly sure in what manner to approach this. Been a little busy.

Thursday, May 26, 2005 at 6:02:21 AM

^ I'll get another map to submit, if I don't get it in time, put my vote in for Cranium Crater please.

Here's what's next, it's big, so beware dialup users:

Hi Napalm , great pics and maps. :) Is there any way to show them in top view. 8o
Thanks t-34. :)

The MonkeeMods screenies are available here.

Friday, May 27, 2005 at 9:59:23 AM

Yes, If I did observer mode and took screenies but I just have not had time. I know there are already existing arial shots of Dash (DB) and Monkee Man mods. Ah, as I edit this I see Reagent has beaten me to it. Lol

I'll eventually get the arials if the maps are adopted as the others have been.

You really have to play them to get a feel for them. The pics can be decieving. I have a 5 minute rotation server running so you can burn through them quickly.

I have also changed the special.cs file so the health gate are gone. It should be all normal tank, and projectile properties. The only exception being the snow in siberia.

Enjoy

Wiztriv01, two screenies from it. It's open-landed, fast paced, a map where you will get blasted up if you don't play as a team, classical lush look: green and brown terrain. You can also find a funny crater from the map.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Friday, May 27, 2005 at 10:25:42 AM

Thanks Napalm and Rx , I did check some of them already , just wanted to see from the top.

I'll try to get some of mine on tonight. It does give you a better perspective.

Friday, May 27, 2005 at 11:14:57 AM

I have added some arial picks. Some look foggy due to the max visual distance. But you can see by the other intimate screenies it's not so foggy.

Can we get warpig into the mix?

Friday, May 27, 2005 at 12:55:58 PM

Ya Warping is awesome. There is two versions, I bet your talking about V2 which was converted for psychoscrum,no?

Friday, May 27, 2005 at 2:13:03 PM

Ya I think so
Wiztriv01 looks pretty hot too. I'll have to get on and check that out.

Friday, May 27, 2005 at 2:58:24 PM

Warpig has been added to the rotation.

Friday, May 27, 2005 at 4:23:45 PM

Is there a simple text listing of maps we can choose from?

Nice Nappy, thanks.

Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 1:20:20 PM

^I guess it would go something like this(info from this thread):

There are 17 maps from where to choose from(16 after KBC's one removed?).

Camelback
Grape Country
RibKicker
Larchmont
Lonewolf Mountain Scrum
Mental Lapse(removed?)
MM_Lush21
Siberia
MM_Lush09 Occipital Oasis
MM_Frantic04
MM_Frantic 03r1
DB7
DB3 The Baloney Pony
Totem Island
wiztriv01
wiztriv02: Encounterrainia
(warpig???)

Above is 17 maps, but warpig doesn't belong to there. So, I guess I don't know what is one of them maps.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 1:20:56 PM

You asked for it, you got it!!!

Here's how I have them set up after the removal of KBC's map.

TT1_1.mis (CN012 Larchmont)
TT1_2.mis (MM_Lush21)
TT1_3.mis (MM Frantic 03r1)
TT1_4.mis (MM Frantic 04 (Downloads))
TT1_5.mis (Occipital Oasis)(Monkee Man)
TT1_6.mis (wiztriv02: Encounterrainia)
TT1_7.mis (Siberia)(napalm)
TT1_8.mis (Sisu-land)(Wiz/Triv)
TT1_9.mis (LONEWOLF MOUNTAIN SCRUM)(Rooster/Lonewolf)
TT1_10.mis (Ribkicker (Napalm))
TT1_11.mis (Grape Country)(Napalm)
TT1_12.mis (Camelback)(Napalm)
TT1_13.mis (DB7)(Dash)
TT1_14.mis (D5: WarPig)(Dash)
TT1_15.mis (DB3: The Baloney Pony)(Dash)
TT1_16.mis (DB5 Totem Island)(Mission says Rooster?) I think Dash?

Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 2:00:23 PM

^I think dash and rooster made the totem island together.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 2:12:52 PM

I will be changing the 5 min server to an 8 minute server tonight. I'm hoping people want to get in some games on the maps to check them out and pick a home field.

Hi fellas
Totem Island was a combination effort by dash and myself
He made the map for the Mystery Terrain League and asked me to
populate it. So it should read dash/rooster.
Sry for the confusion - never thought about fixing the author!
Plz do!!!

Personally I like Siberia. :P

Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 8:33:49 PM

Personally, while Siberia is an interesting map, I don't think it would be a good map to play on. Technically and artistically, WOW! But not so good for playing. :S

My reasons? There are at least 3 goals that can ONLY be reached by hitting a single jump pad JUST RIGHT. Those pads would be simplicity itself to guard, completely stalling the game. Frankly, the only thing I can see to do is either completely wipe out the opposition (a very difficult task), or simply dive with the flag and hope for a better respawn.

I also had another problem on a personal level... I'm slightly susceptible to motion sickness, and after a while the snowflakes started to bother me. Not too badly, but it limited the amount of fun I was having trying to make those jumps.

Gooooogle ads:

I will challenge my own shyness here and ask, Is there a possibility one can lay in some little nice words about ones own map? %) If it's not, please do not read this. XD Encounterrainia, despite its peculiar name, is a very cool map if you want to throw in a slightly smaller map, that still strikes a perfect balance of ups and downs, heres and theres. The nuances are vast, don't let the size betray you. Just play 2 full teams and you'll see. Playing on this map, you don't have to wait very long after spawning to get where the action is at. This is like doctor's ordination of a good treatment for the sleeping eye effect. :'(

I wanted to say, also, that I like lots of the other maps here as well. ! Great works, great creativity. I think having a good range of variation is the coolest. Like in, everything can happen. As for me, I prefer the maps with not too many jagged edges, or at least not too many 90 degrees angles, since that often tend to slow down things a bit.
