MOD takes TBD-
-10-9
-9-8
Lagg was an issue...
Lag happens. So does being outplayed by the opposition though. GG'S guys.
Well fought TBD, gave us more than a run for our money
Game 1: basically tied the whole way through, Hossil takes it to the goal with the timer ticking down
Game 2: MOD starts out 4-0, TBD comes back to within one. Ben had a drive stopped just feet short of the goal with 5 seconds remaining. Awesome games. Max had trouble some trouble with lag, wish that hadn't happened, but still an awesome game. Thanks for hosting Reagent.

Very hard fought games. Unfortunately lag is always going to be an issue, but RX's server seems to be best for most. Muchas Gracias for hosting Reagent.
Did you say, "Lag"? I find that hard to believe LOL!!! GOOD JOB MONKS OF DOOM!!! BTW.. I wish for you all to be the NEW CHAMPS!!! KKB ;)
TY KKB! We'll give it our best shot!
Yo Major Pain.. I always root for a class act like yourself!!! ;)
They were good games... Congratulation MOD
I blew it in the first round and let them camp a score out of me that I could normally have saved with ease. Unfortunately, I had no time to warm up. Had I been a little bit more prepared mentally, I think that first round would've been at least a tie. I showed up 5 minutes before the scheduled match. It's my bad for not requesting a little warm up. I'm sure MOD would've let me have 5 minutes to get into my groove, had I asked for it.
Aside from that, MAX CR was lagging something furious. Hossle had some lag to, but it wasn't that bad. The poor guy was blinking all over the place. Despite this, I think he played very well.
I would like a rematch against MOD. Not to move on in the tourney, (I accept our defeat), just for kicks and giggles. I'd like to see how well they fend against us when we're all at out best with no lag.
Maybe I should've requested Blind Cide or Dash to set up a server for us. Nothing against Reagent's server, but it's like he said when I was offering to host our previous match against TYG...
Probably best to have a non-player host if possible.
Overall, I had a lot of fun! Thank you Tally for organizing this increadible Tournement! I'm going to talk to my team about challanging some of the other teams that didn't quite make the grade... I'd like to take on every team that signed up for this tourney at least once.

Hossil or anyone else who was in the MOD - TBM game, do you have any screenshots?
guys who played the KSJ - FUH game, if you took any screenshots might post them to here or you didn't take any? If you didn't take any tell atleast the scores like hossil did. :)
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
Scores for FUH vs KSJ
Game 1 - 16 - 5 -KSJ wins
Game 2 - 13 - 6 - KSJ wins
^ ugg couldnt get anything going...
Why did you remove your post bolo... Your droping your posts out of fourms too? Cant commit to anything can you
@Triv, no screenies. I think it went something like this:
First game;
Blue Team 9 - tbd
Green Team 10 - mod
Hossil apossil - 7
ben - 4
walrus - 3
deej - 3
max - 2
mp - goose egg
Second Game;
Blue Team 8
Green Team 9
Walrus - 4
ben - 3
Mp - 3
hossil apossil -2
deej - 4
max - 1?
I have a horrible memory. Thoes are just educated estimates.
@Deej.
Dude, I had no lagg whats so ever. My ping was the best within the group. My ping never reached 65 throughout the two games. It was you guys who suffered the most. If the deadline wasnt so close, MOD would have more then welcomed you guys to a official rematch. None of us wanted to claim a win in such an affair. In fact, I mentioned that we stop and pick another server, or reschedule half way through the first game. I'm more then down to give you guys another game.
In fact, MAX lagged out completely, numorous times; Resulting in two lost goals, which would have changed matters quite a bit.

@Hoss and anyone who asked about scores of MOD vs TBD-
I think those scores are roughly correct, mp took some shots I believe. If I remember correctly though 2nd game scores were:
Hossil: 4
Walrus:4
deej: 4
Ben: 3
Major Pain: 1
Max: 1
Those could be wrong though.
Explain to me about the little /ping lag checker; do you see the other player's pings as the ping for the on their computer? Cause hossil had fantastic ping, but he did jerk sometimes while I was chasing him. Does my ping affect his lag? I had 110 ping which is normal, still more than hossil's, throughout the whole game, but every time I got nearer to Max - or hossil occasionally - it seemed to get worse. I couldn't check but that's what seemed to happen.
Again, ggs monks.
I am no expert on this, but while ping is an important part of it, it is by no means the whole story . You can have low ping and still have terrible shot delay for example. On my server you can check anyone's ping by typing /ping name. It has occurred to me though that it might be a good idea to remove this feature, because I have seen several cases where games can degenrate into excessive ping checking matches. You can tell how good a server is for you by some driving, passing and shooting tests rather than going strictly by the ping number. That said I'm afraid there is no real good solution to this problem - other than checking out servers in advance and arranging for a backup server and coming to some kind of compromise.
Btw, just for kicks type in "Kinetic Shrapnel Jammers" into google. The first hit is this thread! Wooot! XD
I enjoy the games on rx's server about every night....i think for me it comes down to luck

Omg new names for the Champs!
Hanka Tanksta is now Hanky Talky
Jangles is now Junggles
Bolo is now Bailout
XD
PS Yeah Bolo you mauled me that night it was painful!
LOL prey.
Btw RX, what are you doing searching for kinetic shrapnel jammers? XD
Wicked.
@MP... They were great games... But in my heart I will always believe that we would've won, had Max not been lagging so badly. Sorry if I sound like a sour puss or a sore looser. That's just the way I feel about it. I hope my honesty isn't too blunt. I harbor no hard feelings or grudges.
Congratulations again on your victory. You truly earned it... Had it been you or one of your teammates with the lag, I'm sure you'd feel the same way I do, and vise versa. We'd be looking forward to competing against KSJ in the semi finals.
Deej
Woot we are in the finals baby !
Very hard games but we pulled it off ! Good game MOD ! B)
Watch the heck out everyone. MP, Wal and Hoss are beasts.
freaking beasts.
Mb if the "champs" are lucky, they'll have time to get them arses kickered.
@DEEJ They were good games & I know the frustration. It could have gone either way as our teams were very evenly matched I thought & I feel bad the MAX was having such a time. He sure gave me a hard time at the goal despite the lag. Next time we line up a backup server. Might've prevented a lot of heartache.
CONGRATS TO KSJ!!
Man those were two of the most intense games in recent memory. We gave it our best effort & came up short, but both teams played extremely well & the final scores reflect as much. I just can't remember what they were :) Congrats to the Jammers for the win & excellent gameplay. Also kudos to my teammates apple & walrus for giving it their all. It was closer than I would have expected given our opponents.
KSJ - awesome games, the adrenalines still wearing off, you deserved that win completely and I wish the three of you the best of luck in the championship
Apple and MP- couldn't have asked for a better pair of teammates, cya around in TT
Wow... Wish we could see the video replay! Sounds like a classic!!!
WHat a shame we have a finalist and no one else even in the other semi finals!
Just a though- Anyway we could arrange a 3rd place game? Or are we all just goin #1 or bust?
YOU CAN SEE A REPLAY!
also, third place works for me. Talk to the non-winners of the other match to be played.
Yeah, intense games for sure!
Congrats to KSJ. You guys are true sportsmen.
I appricate your good sportsmenship and humble intentions.
-This tourney was brilliant. I also appriciate all the time and effort that was needed to make this work. Kutos to all.
Looking forward for the next one!
Bring on the highlight reel, hopefully lonewolf has already obtained his ankle cast's.
-As you can see walrus and mp are already hard at work
- "you must be the tank..."

^ Please reread my last comment ! B)
Hey Nap, how's the celluloid looking ?
@Deej
Geez...
We've all have won team tournaments. It's all about promotion.
In team scum, the 3 on 3 Team scum champs are the Black Sheep followed by the Rubes. This tournaments main goal was to
silence the BOLO.

I'm glad this will be over soon. Tourneys aren't fun at all anymore....... Too much like work.
MM, I feel you. I hate to not let in anyone outside the west or people of communal repute, but too many people have too many bad experiences.
Don't perma-bail.
In the future, if in order to ensure better competition we would need to have fewer teams. Instead of having fewer rounds, we could change the structure to a round-robbin type schedule which could be much more fun anyway.
When this is over, check back in May.

Hint taken ;) I'll shut up now... B) I was having fun... I just didn't want it to end so quickly. That's all...
Not your fault Master Ho. You and Prof are the glue that kept me in this time.
Just gonna set out next time and watch from afar. Just too much politics for me.
@Mystery Man... Yeah the fun factor seems to be missing. I think that was said by a few. When they noticed the usual fun, goofball jiving didn't happen. I see DEEJ pulled the post. I think one cool thing about the tournament. We got to pick the players we like to play & have some fun games with, for a team. In ranked drafts, you kinda loose that. I would say the sheep were the best 3 on 3 team for the 2004 time period that we all got to play. I look forward to the next 3on3 in May. I liked playing with some team members, I hadn't played with in a while. It was fun and short. Good luck to the remaining teams. Hope you don't see these games as work & let the Ribbing Begin!
I think the fun factor depends on which side of the bracket you were placed on. The side KSJ dominated ran smoothly and had some great games, I had an awesome time. The other side seems to be struggling....
Seems to be struggling...
and Pavarotti seems to be a tad bit overweight...
It has been a F'in mess IMO
Cher had some work done, and Michael Jackson likes kids.
@Deej
I deleted my reply to the post you deleted. You were classy enough to do it, so I thought I needed to do the same out of respect for you.
I can understand what you were trying to say, but let's not open that can of worms. Let's leave the ex-champs where they are now...out in the cold, like men without a country. Rebels without a clue...er...cause. If they want to prove that they are still the best, then they will need to prove it on the battlefield, not on a message board.
I think we all need some Marvin Gaye....
@Walrus
Marvin Gay(e)? You mean his song "Let's Get it on"? I think not! Homie don't play that! Not that there is anything wrong with that kind of thing... Just not my bag.
er... Or did you mean "What's going on"?

I considered adding game results/scores as well, but quite frankly I'm too lazy to dig up that info. :)

A) People will join in sets of 3. One team = 3 people. Thus, you will need to police yourselves. If someone you're considering for you team has sticky hours and you question their commitment / ability to play, you may want to consider not taking them on.
b) It will be up to the teams to host and organize their matches. Each round will proceed at one week intervals.
c) If you have a micro window of availability, consider not entering. Success of tournaments is contingent upon players' flexibility. In the event of a DNP, the team that has shown greater willingness and availability to play.
_____Rules Draft 0.1
1) 3-player teams are self-formed and then announced in the official thread. Post openings or interest in the official thread [when there is one], or form via in-game chat or email to ho.
2) Once the tourney commish has gathered a bracket-able number of announced full teams, a non-seeded single-elimination bracket will be randomly dealt. [I want a seeding process ]
3) The first round has a time-limit of 5 days. Each subsequent match round will have a time limit of one week. Set up a thread for your upcoming match so that each player on your team and your opponent's team can post available match times/days. You can do this by email, but the thread is better so that the commish can see who the delinquent team/player was in the case of a match not being played before the one-week deadline. The team that puts forth more of a flexible scheduling effort will move on to the next round.
4) Each match consists of 2 or more fifteen-minute games. Match scoring is in effect (win=2, tie=1, loss=0). As we have seen in PSL, splitting a two game match is quite common. Here, though, it would keep going until there is a winner. I would imagine this would result in a majority of matches resulting in 3 games. This can and did happen, so make sure your agreed-upon match start time leaves enough time for players to play at least three games. If you lose the first game of the match, the only way to prevent defeat is to win the second 15-minute game. *A tie will not do.*
5) If your team shows up to an agreed-upon match time with less than 3 players, you must play with the team you have at hand. Unless, for some graciously altruistic reason, your opponents decide to imitate doormats or have WAY too much time on their hands - or your no-show has an outstanding reason for no-showing - it can be rescheduled *within* the 1-week round window. If it cannot be rescheduled, the team that initially showed up at full strength will move on [see c above]
6) The two teams playing the match are responsible for setting up their own server (or talking a server God/dess into cranking one up for them). Mind the lag, folks -always opt for proven servers and keep in mind that remote or overseas players can call forth hordes of lag demons._____
the management
7) No switching sides.
