@ Ge0rge, Weīve only got three people that I can say for sure would show up. The majority of the European team are kids with not so flexable playing times. We donīt really have enough people in Europe that play ThinkTanks yet I guess.

@ -Z-, Is it posssible to get some stats as to how many registered European TT erīs there actually are?

Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 6:36:20 AM

Europe probably isn't going to get more than one shot at this. If the Euros miss two games, they'll buy the hammer.

Nobody enters this tournament attached to any body else. Also, all games will be played along the same schedule as the current psychoscrum.

Monday and Thursday, 7pm Pacific time.

Don't sign up if you can't do the time.

Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 6:57:39 AM

Remove SNOW from the list Jimmy.

Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 7:00:35 AM

Donīt worry Tally no one on my team can play those times. I was just refering to Ge0rgeīs post about a world championship. I wouldnīt sign up for anything unless I know I can make the times. During the week at 7pm Pacific, 4am CET wonīt work for us we all have to work. Maybe we will have enough people in the future to start our own League but right now we donīt have enough people.

Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 9:03:36 AM

Update. I'm just putting the time conflicts into a separate list at the bottom just to see how widespread the problem is. Only 2 people right now.

I prefer having set times to prevent the horrendous haggling for playing times that went on in the last tourney. Took up way too much time just to get a game going!

LOCK DOWN IS FRIDAY. IF YOU KNOW ANYONE THAT WANTS IN, GET THAR ARSES IN BEFORE FRIDAY MIDNIGHT WEST COAST TIME.

Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 7:11:20 PM

Lets get it on!!!!!

Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 9:37:35 PM

OK!!!

A few questions though...

How will teams be set up? 3 on 3 or 4 on 4? Do we choose are own or are they chosen randomly? When will this start?

Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 10:26:27 PM

From what I've gathered, the plan is this:

1. Individual players put their name into the pot

2. A third of the players on the list will be designated as captains (chosen to start the equal distribution of talent);

3. Then the rest of the players will be picked/drafted to complete 4-player teams.

It will be a 3on3 league, not a tournament, so each team gets lots of lovely playing time. The extra player on each team will allow for occasional absences due to busy schedules and still keep the even 3on3 matchups going on a 2-per-week basis: Mon and Thurs nights at 7 PM pst just like PS3.

At present, I think we have 7 teams. 24 hours till we're locked in and I announce [the] captains and the ball begins to roll.

Dammit, Daimbranage, I want a good excuse at least! I was looking forward to wrestling with you a bit! Can't blame Hugo for wanting a break after that last tourney. I'm curious what keeps Tally begging for more abuse!

@Tally, I just got our demobilization dates. I will be in Fort Lewis (isolated from my computer and network) from March 31 to April 16. So, I've got about 6 weeks of gaming, then I have to take a leave of absence from ThinkTanks. :[

JB be a deserter and hide in a basement suite, from where you'll be able to play TT until the end of the world! ;)

@ JB

Better yet, write "W" and ask how he managed to hide. How can you serve and not have anyone remember you?

{WalMart free for over 24 months!}

Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 4:36:05 PM

It's easy to serve without being remembered: just be shitty at your job while maintaining few friends.

Ooh....I don't think I'm supposed to say that in uniform! I'm just a little tired of him trying to bully other countries. Some of the stuff he did was good, but the next president will have his work cut out for him in repairing international relations. Not sure how Blair put up with it.

Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 6:22:19 PM

I see 25 (with Daim removed and not including -z-), which would be six 4-player teams (and an extra). Just confused over the 7-team comment, Tally...

Tally, to have more peeps email some former PS players (from the master list taken from the weekly email spams I used to send). Some folks ain't like to visit this forum.

PS Where is sluggy? Kentuky killbilly? 56k? Comboy? Kid? Sniper? I have their email if need be... All good player with good attitude, all regular scrummers.

Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 8:24:09 PM

HB all those players u listed are indeed great players but I dont often see any of them on a regular basis. U might have to put up with more newbies like me!!!

SUGGESTION TO THE PS 4.0 COMMUNITY:

16 games

2 per week = 2 months season

1 game per map:

4 Lush

4 Frantic

4 Spooky

4 Clown Alley

Friday, February 13, 2004 at 1:41:16 AM

Nice lineup, Hugo! I love the idea.

Some hesitations about Clown Alley.

As the advantage would go to those who have access to it, or have had more extensive play time on it.

It certainly wouldn't be an "even playing field" in that regard.

Friday, February 13, 2004 at 4:24:32 AM

Aye, I agree with baba on the alley of the clowns. It's a bit too video arcade for me, and the physics make me want to put on flippers.

It's too different and too random, though the "different" factor pumps me up for the reds and the blues. I think the season will break down into 3 stages...

Blue --> green --> red.

Also, no divisions. We're going premier league style.

Z, double check me, but a win is 3 points, a tie is worth 1?

[ second thoughts on maps. Perhaps each team cap will pick a home court. Perhaps... ]

Friday, February 13, 2004 at 4:41:07 AM

CAPTAIN LIST AT THE TOP!!!!!

Friday, February 13, 2004 at 4:41:48 AM

So r we going for a total of 32 players and 8 captains then....

Friday, February 13, 2004 at 4:55:33 AM

Tomorrow at midnight, we go with what we got.

Friday, February 13, 2004 at 4:57:09 AM
OM

Huh? Uhm, why is my name on the captain list? Or is that just one team list? Sorry, I'm a little confused, because it says Captains so far

Just FYI, I'm a relative noob in Scrum and organized competition stuff, so I'm not sure if that's the best idea. U might be better off with someone like Bolo who's already been doing competitions. (if he WANTS to of course) But if noone else wants to take my spot, I guess I will. *gulp*

@ Tally/Bomb: Sluggy's on the captains' list, but not on the list of players... Now I'm REALLY confused!

Friday, February 13, 2004 at 2:59:18 PM

@George, Sluggy hasn't posted here yet! Sluggy must have contacted Tally somewhere else.

Sluggy? Tally? Any comment?
