HI All,

Just a quick note on behalf of the Imperators. Thanks to all for the fun, and good times. While we didn't get a win in the end, team spirit carried us through to the end. A quick thanks to my fellow imperators:- Thanks for keeping it together right to the end. It was never going to be an easy task, however we were always competitive, and along the way we became friends, and shared emotions together.

To everyone involved in the finals, best of luck - you deserve it, so make the most of it.

It was 86-68 in the first game and 82-57 in the second, for a cumulative score of 168-125.

The Imps did a heck of a job getting 125 kills with just four players, I must say.

I think about 121 of them were me. :S

Hi all, this was my first season playing in a league and I found it challenging and most importantly fun. I hope to play again next season with good players I had this season. Supra u were the best cap I ever had, and yes the last game was really close. Au u and supra are the best tanks at designign formation. And I hope to have fun the next season as well. I wont be playing TT as much for a while[month] because I'll be working on a wireless communication project and also taking 2 night classes which are pain in a butt. Alright guys thx for a challenging games, and crow it was fun playing with ya. And yes, u wotn be getting ur laptop cuz u dditn sit, lol. Hope u understand that I was just pulling ur feathers cuz I got a kick out of it lol. Take care

Also, the map for the championship has been changed from Hypo Hills (which tends to favor the blue team) to Cranium Crater, which is arguably more equal.

Two big matchups with the winners advancing to the championship game... Everything is on the line for the last four teams. The championship could go to any of the teams... It's gonna be a close one.

The Desert Rats

TDR has been chasing the Metal Slicerz all season long, riding in second place until a suprise upset of the MS in Game 10 and a lucky dice roll put them in the lead position. Leopard has done a great job of leading this crew all season long, and this team tends to show the most coordination in battle. Key wins : 4-point game over the Metal Slicerz (Week 2), 12-point romp of Zombie Squadron (Week 6). Key losses : 7-point loss to Desperados (Week 4), 9-point loss to the Devil's Brigade (Week 5). The Rats have won all of their last 3 games.

Metal Slicerz

MS has led the league from the start, the early odds-on favorite to take the league. A late upset and unlucky dice roll put them just behind the Rats. Tank0r has kept the team tight and high on talent, however, connection and attendance problems have been a factor and could spell trouble in the playoffs. Key wins : 40-point blowout of Zombie Squadron (Week 5), 16-point slam on the Desert Rats (Week 7). Key losses : 9-point loss to Devil's Brigade (Week 8), 1-point upset at the hands of Zombie Squadron (Week 10). MS has lost 2 of their last 3 games.

Zombie Squadron

ZS is the only team that has remained intact the entire league, with no changes or additions to its roster.... The result of some lucky picks by yours truly in the draft back in early March. ZS is probably the most unpredictable team in the league; either they have a good night or a very, very bad night. They've been duking it out with Desperados and Devil's Brigade for third place for most of the season. Key wins : 7-point win over Desperados (Week 3), 1-point squeaker over the Metal Slicerz (Week 10). Key losses : 40-point debacle by the Metal Slicerz (Week 5), 12-point loss to the Desert Rats (Week 6). ZS has won the last 2 of their 3 games.

Desperados

Desperados coasted to the Final Four in the last games of the season, and they were always a solid team, being contenders for second place all season long. Stan's team has waxed and waned, but always puts up a fight. Attendance "issues" lately have put this team on the run. Key wins : 7-point upset of the Desert Rats (Week 4), 32-point slam of Devil's Brigade (Week 7). Key losses : 7-point loss to Zombie Squadron (Week 3), 11-point loss to the Desert Rats (Week 9). Desperados have won 2 of their last 3 games.

FINAL FOUR MATCHUPS

A: Favorite: The Desert Rats, Underdog: Desperados, Spread: 7

These teams have a (1-1) record against each other, but the 8-ball predicts the win for the Rats, which have outscored the Desperados 193-189. With the Desperados possibly lacking a team member, it may be their doom.

B: Favorite: Metal Slicerz, Underdog: Zombie Squadron, Spread: 11

Although neither team has the win/loss advantage (both 1-1 versus each other), the Slicerz have outscored ZS and amazing 227-188. This one won't be a blowout, though... ZS still has a rock-solid roster and attendance and lag issues may cause trouble for the Slicerz.

Zombie Squadron upsets the Metal Slicerz 71-58. Even though the MS were outnumbered and missing their captain (someone pass the hat to get Tankor some internet), they still put up a great fight.

The rest of the situation is a real mess.

Stan, you did your best to totally screw up the league. I'd just like to take this oppurtunity to thank you for bringing all the real league teams closer together. We played a friendly match in which the only losers are the ones who chose to follow you in a childish temper tantrum, and quit the league all together. Unfortunatly you took some really good players down with you, but hey, some people just can't handle leadership. You are one of those people who should just shut up and let the grown ups do the talking. I wish you luck and maturity.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the league this season. Imperators, a special appreciation to you for sticking it out against all odds. Just shows how commited you all where.

Second, I think I will speak for many people or those who just suffered lag that its one of the main issues we have to address if there are any other future TBL to be played on. Maybe there should be a change in the rules ((if any)) to where the Host of a server should place their name at the end so we know who's it is without second guessing one another. Rules on Game time start should be enforced and testing of servers should be done ahead of time by both teams to agree on a server.

And finally, I know towards the end of the season there was a few people who tried to pull tricks. The season ended in a sour note. Try to be a bit more creative when it comes to covering up your tracks. Atleast the last few games in the post season where fun.

A fund should be collected over the summer for Tank0r. So he wont have to be borrowing ISP access from others. I know if we all chip in a penny, Tank0r will get decent dial-up service. :P...... Hopefully.....

Will be lookin forward to another season. With a bit less drama, but if there is any drama, We got your cheese to go with your whine.

First of all I want to thank everyone for a great season.. To be honest, I think Slicerz were the Best of all 6 teams... Well that's my opinion..

I know there had been many unresolved-issues throughout the season, but I never stop enjoying my games in both league and normal games...

The league had brought many strangers to become friends, that was my reason for playing this game.. Friendships were more important than winning, I hope some of you have thought of it the same... :"I STILL THINK SLICERZ WERE THE BEST OF ALL 6 TEAMS"

Isn't life wonderful...what a fantastic competition is at play here, even with the fairy tale ending....all winners. And this, despite the interference of the evil desperados and their nasty captain.

Now let me go back a week ago and that shameful game for the Rats.

Rats lost in more than 1 way:

1 - by losing 1st game that was fair on a neutral server where no one complained of lag before the actual game started during the 15 minutes wait for restart, and the subsequent 5 mins of real game play.

2 - by withdrawing from the server unilaterally and, to make it worse, trying again to host the 2nd game when we didnt host the 1st.

3 - by behaving outrageously trying disingenously to host the 2 GAMES (as they did for most of the season, counting on the naiveté and easygoigness of other teams) creating conflicts and throwing insults.

The team Desperados has withdrawn from the competition due to lack of sportmanship from a number of players, unsanctionned misbehavior and tacit complacency from the league manager who even tries to sway his own games. Indeed Rats rule and that's the problem.

Let us know when rules have changed (and are enforceable) in future competitions.

Team sports and their associated rules evolve over time. No sport has ever started with the perfect set of rules, procedures and penalties. The development of a sport is iterative. We're just in an early iteration and the growing pains are a little stronger right now, things will get better.

All other sports have referees. I'm surprised things went as well as they did with out ref's in place, it speaks well of the members of the league.

Arguing and Fighting are not the same thing

You will not convince someone they are wrong with personal attacks and profanity. If you find yourself about to verbally abuse someone who disagrees with you, please reconsider. Please respond with a logically valid reason why the person who disagrees with you is wrong.

My one comment on the whole "fiasco"....it seems awfully coincidental that the only two "controversies" happened with respect to the same team. Just an observation...glean what you will.

Well I have to say that I enjoyed 99 percent of this season very much. Meeting new players measures far above losing or winning games for me.

@ Stan; you didn't hear us sniveling about lag during the game because that is who we are. When playing we play. We knew what what we were getting. I checked into that server before any of your team was there and ran around it for a time turning and shooting. Even alone the server was dropping out for seconds at a time. I then checked back into our practice server and gave Lep the heads up.

We went and played the first game pretty much at your instance. You just did not respond when Lep said that the 2nd game would be played on a different server.

Most of the Rats were experiencing lag weirdness like Bedo disappearing in front of our eyes and then be instantly behind us, and low fire rates. At times I could not see my fire or your teams fire.

During the game none of us were sniveling about things. I'm sure everyone was thinking the same thing as me; "Let's keep it close and smoke them on a different server the next game." We did that just the week before when the two games were played on different servers. In fact anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that by charging us up the hill like you kept doing you were lucky to be in the running for the second game.

Then when most of the Rats left to populate another server Blitz and I were treated to you and monkey calling us cheaters. Wow, for the fist time ever Blitz and I were pretty much speechless. Thanks a lot ol'buddy. I'll remember you. You too monkey.

Just don't expect any flowers for your birthdays.

I think this league has exposed a few things for improvement.

1) the leaguemaster should not be a captain, but a member of a team, or a non-participant. Otherwise the team whose captain is in charge of the league has too much of an advantage

2) Lag was total BS this season. Not to mention teams, but most of the time the hoster was on the winning team. In the future, I hope a neutral server will be determined ahead of time.

Dash had the only server I could play on and even that was sometimes laggy...1 way this game does SUCK is because it demands a good ping from ALL the clients and server as well as no CPU lag from the server and clients.

I would like to thank dash, leapord, and -z- for hosting this season even though the servers werent always ideal. We appreciate it

Well said Bolo. Thanks for the objective, constructive comments. Personal time permiting, I would greatly enjoy returning for another season if these 2 points are corrected.

Lag resolution:

I suggest that we stagger next seasons games. If there are six teams again, then two play at 9pm and the other at 9:30pm

No team can host their own game. For example Dash could host a Zombies vs. Rats game at 9pm. Leopard could host the Desperados vs. Slicerz game at 9:30pm. I've noticed that if the hoster is playing in the game or even on TT itself that lag rears its ugly head. Example, the Lair is much better when Leopard is not online. Staggering the games may be needed until we can come up with more hosts. Maybe we could work out a deal with the scrum league. Some of those guys have great servers and we inturn could host some of their games. Dash has a great server and so does Reagent X. Maybe if those two parties agree we could have Reagent X put up a TBM server on Tues. And Dash put a scrum server on Wed. I feel this would help out both leagues. Sound good or is that too much of a pain the ass for hosts?

For all other league issues and I'm sure the rest of you will concur, I blame Stan.

Stan you ignorent slut! (SNL) First of all Leopard wasn't involved in the decision making of the outcome of the games we almost played. Leopard handled the situation with maturity, something you can't muster. He left the decision up to LC50 and Supra. Now I can only repeat what I've heard happened after that. I heard that when LC50 and Supra tried to talk to you and your team to find a way of finishing the games in a mutually agreeable fashion, you and your entire team basically told them to F#$% off. This is why, if I'm correct, not only you, but your entire team have been banned from league play. Not because of the game, but becuase you were too immature to sit down and discuss the problem like a grown man. Even after it has been proven with screen shots that you knew Projects was Fatlips it was in fact Leopard that faught to keep you in the league for the sake of the other members on your team. Had it been up to others you would have been kicked out right then and there.

As for the events of the game in question, I did see you agree that if we were having lag issues on the server YOU wanted to play on that we would all move to Leopards server for the second game. You made the agreement after much whining. One game your server, one game our server. It is fair and has worked just fine with all the real league teams. You started your crap long before the games ever began that night. We accomidated you by letting you host the first game which is a huge advantage. Neither team lost that night becuase one team was being lead by a quitter. Unfortunatly they got dragged into becoming quitters also. You are a disapointment to your team and to your mother I'm sure.

But seriously, I think your team might have had a different outlook on the situation had it been known that Stan did in fact cheat on the Fatlips game and it had been proven. As far as I know it, none of the Desps are banned from anything and I personally want them all back. I'm quite sure that Stan will not return and will not be permitted to either. Let's get on with finding a suitable lag solution for hopefully what will be the Fall league.

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the league. Thanks to the captains, the regulars, and the hosters (-z-, Lep, Dash, Chanman (who we gotta get into the next league), and Reagent X). Big thanks to Lep for helping me crack the whip a few times. Special thanks to all the players who hung in there the whole season from the start. Hugest thanks to the Imps for taking a licking all season long, yet having the guts to ask for seconds, and thirds, and fourths.... There are a number of rule changes that will be coming down the pipes eventually, and hopefully we can get a few problem areas resolved before setting out to start another league. We need to put our heads together to keep it fun and simple, yet protect the league from unethical or crude people who obviously take this game way too seriously, need to get a life, or have other character defects. That being said there are a few of you who I won't miss in the next league. However, it's been fun playing against/alongside 95% of you 92% of the time.

I'll be MIA from ThinkTanks for some time, other than the occasional post or weird cameo appearance, as I'm moving to the west coast so that I can get a better connection to Az's Field of Screams. Also, the move will get me even more lag to the Lair.

I hope that leopard and lc comes up with a good schedule for all teams to play on neutral server without lag issues.

@apollo, I just took aa exam today for a ee field class. I think I did pretty good but the only bad news was that I scored below average on the previous exam.

Personally, I liked TBML. I thought it was cool and great fun. Sure, I liked winning, but getting with the guys was even better. Sure, lag sucked at times, but that's part of the game as well. I'd rather play than not because of lag, you just gotta adjust.

I think having neutral servers is a great idea and I hope we can get that worked out. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. Hopefully everyone who wants to play will be given the opportunity and the transgressor's will be given a second chance.

Now on to CTFL!!!

Dash I just read your post about how you say Stan didn't agree to the second game on our server. That is because Stan made that agreement while he was in our practice server. You and the rest of the team weren't there. Stan didn't tell you that becuase that he's a game playing idiot. I realize you guys got duped and I'm sorry for that but as I stated it doesn't take a genius to know what kind of person Stan is. If you guys had sat down at the table instead of thumbing your noses at those who were trying to mediate the problem things might have had a different outcome.

Rogue I said what I said about Dash becuase I know what Dash was saying in E-mails after the game was over. He was saying that I cussed Stan out. In fact the only thing I said to Stan was in Stan's modded server 45 minutes after they had walked out of the tournament. Dash tried to use that to get our team in trouble with the league by misrepresenting what I had said. I, nor anyone else on our team used any profanity during the game or during the discussions trying to work it out. It wasn't until after the discussions were completly over and every effort had been made to work things out that I did in fact say something to Stan, again on a completly different server in a regular game. I didn't have any problems with anyone else on his team, I was just as mad that he was leading them down the wrong road. I only really know one player on their team and that's Bedo and I think he's a great player and an asset to any team.

Sorry man but you know as well as I do that we were not able at the time of the game to voice our opinions because Leopard told us not to. I'm not real good at biting my tongue, in fact I suck at it.

As far as making new rules for the game, what everyone should really do is get together and sign a sort of petition that we can send to the programmers of the game and ask them to fix some of these problems.

1. We should be able to ban someones account from a server we created. Many of the animosity between league players started in someones modded or non-modded server. Some people live to create havoc and we all know them.

2. If they would make it so you can't take damage from your own teammate then that would chase away all the team killers. Many of them would become bored with the game and leave it all together.

3. They need to provide servers for us to use in league play that have high speed internet connections like T1. There is no reason a software company should not be able to provide us with a good server with a fast CPU and a T1 connection.

4. They can change the programming of the game so that if one person logs on with a bad connection it does not have to affect all the players in that game. Right now if a player logs on with a 56k it drags the rest of us down to a 56k. This is the only online game I've ever played that has that issue.

If they would make these few changes it would be a much better game.

All I can say about the bullshit going on now is you would NEVER, and I mean NEVER see this kind of crap in the Scrum league. In the scrum leagues players actually respect each other, and the trash talk is done in a light-hearted baiting manner, not the vitriol I'm seeing here.

I'm glad I won't be a part of this TBM league anymore. I don't need to see this kind of childish shit. It seems like Battlemoders really are more immature.
