The season has already started, but you can still join! Also:

Most of you are well aware of planetthinktanks.com (PTT.com) and the "PTT" servers (like CTF, Survivor, etc.) that are always running. What you may not know is that the website's creator/manager, a dedicated player only known as "-Z-" does not get paid to run the website or operate the servers. He is not employed by Think Tanks' creators (Bravetree). In fact, he and another player (Dan MacDonald) pay about $150 (US) PER MONTH out of their own pockets to provide these services to the Think Tanks community.

On top of Dan's and -Z-'s contributions, the Team Battlemode League may have access to PTT's servers for Tuesday games (we used them last week). For future games, the league will rely on a mix of these PTT servers and/or servers hosted by players/captains.

For all their help in providing the servers and the PTT.com website on which to post our Team Battlemode League messages, -Z- and Dan have asked us for nothing in return!

To show our appreciation and to keep these servers and PTT.com running, please consider making a donation to -Z- and Dan. I don't expect everyone to donate---- I realize that many of you may not have the capability or luxury to spare the cash right now. All I ask is that you donate a few bucks for the cause if you can. Even $5-10 is much appreciated. You can make donations easily by clicking "Make a donation" here .

Donations are done via PayPal. PayPal is an easy, safe, and anonymous way to send money. It is not "Big Brother" and it will not send your credit card number, checking account number, or email address to hackers, spammers, or the Bolivian government.

Some people have emailed me recently asking what is going on with the league. To update everyone, we have finished initial player pool formation and will now have a draft where all 6 team captains will systematically pick from this pool to fill their teams. This will be done with only the captains.

Once the teams are set up, rules will be emailed, and further instructions and communication will come from the league or your team. That is where we are at presently!

Draft is set tentatively for Tuesday so look for information from the league later on this week. Perhaps sooner!

Then... The battles begin..... Get ready...

Teams have been picked, respective captains will be emailing to team memebers as well as rules, players must abide/adhere to rules or ejection will occur. No exceptions!!!

I will also be contacting those who are in the draft pool due to the fact that each team can only supoport 7 players to start, however do not lose hope, we will be holding pool games where the pool players will get the opportunity to compete against the league captains, as well due to foreseeable attendance problems and people leaving the game , in all likelyhood most pool players will probably be involved in the league at one point in the season.

As you are posting your little team's names we are to busy scouting, practicing, & learning your teams moves and you dont even know it (till now). The longer we keep our team a secret the longer you have to worry & less time you have to know who it is thats gonna blow the tracks off your tank.

We too faced IMPERATORS, we fought hard.... Man..

Our blades were almost completely bent... Both games fought brilliantly...

METAL SLICERZ showed great team work and performance...

Finally victory was ours, 2 games scores totalled of 107-97, if I'm not mistaken...

Ya know, that was really fun. Playing team battlemode as an actual team really does something for the game. Its cool to work together. Adding voice chat really enhances the experience as well since you get to hear that battle "crosstalk". I can't wait till next week's game!

Last night was fun, but I have to say, the lag issue is troubling. Did you "Devil's" have bad lag? "Cause we sure did, or at least I know I did. I couldn't see about 2/3rds of the rounds I was firing. Felt like I was shooting blanks most of the time.

I'm not saying that's why we lost. You guys had better teamwork, and some great BMers. But still, if lag weren't as bad, I think we could've performed a bit better.

Team BattleMode Electronic Trading Cards:

All - LC₅₀ has requested a line of trading cards be built for the Team BattleMode League, both Team and Individual cards.

What I'll do is go team by team through your league collecting the pictures I'm going to need. I will contact each team, one at a time, and request screenies of each player in action. If you have a custom skin you like to use, make sure your screenies have it. You also need to let me know the name of the skin, and who the designer was. I want 2-3 pics of each player - no more than 3 pictures per player!

I will start with Zombie Squadron - captain LC₅₀ - please let your team know what I want. I'll be sending you an email address for folks to send the screenies to. I'd like to have your team finished by end of next weekend. If anybody has any questions, please post them in the Trading Cards thread - no need to clutter up this thread with OT discussion.

BTW - anybody who does not get me any screenies by the end of the league will NOT get their own card.

We faced "THE DESERT RATS" last night.... Man.. It was one hell of a fight...

"RATS" were very well cordinated.... Great team work too...... The best we have seen so far.......

We won by 1 point.. 101-100.. But if the game had lasted 1 second longer.. It would have been a "TIE"

Great game Desperados! Man, this was a developmental game for us, and learning to be a great team. Well done Brigade....

Score tonight was a respectable 127 / 106 in favor of the Desperados. Thanks to great team effort from Mad_Cow, FatChick, HippieHater, and Rabban!

@Bolo- concerning last nights match up between Imperators and Zombies, only 2 players from Imperators showed, namely Banshee and Deliriot. We played a 5 on 2, which was a no win situation for the Imperators. Not a good test to see how either team will perform in the "real thing" unfortunately.

We never even finished the 2nd game, just ended it early because it was a waste of time in a way. Though I will say the 2 Imperators gave us a good run for the money, considering how outnumbered they were. Thanks Banshee and Deliriot for hanging in there as long as you did.

Okay, received all of the pics for Zombie Squadron.

Next is The Desert Rats, captain Leopard. If you can arrange to gather screenies of all your team, preferably wearing any custom skins they use, I will send you an email address to send them to. If they use a custom skin, make sure to tell me the name of it, and who the artist is.

If you have any questions, post them in the Trading Cards thread. Ideally I'd like to have this team done by end of next weekend.

LC₅₀ 's Preseason Preview

After much hand-wringing, late-night chat meetings, arguments over area-effect powerups and team names, draft meetings, training sessions, emails, forum posts, teaching people how to operate servers, and the mass mailing of purple, brain-shaped toasters, THE SEASON IS ABOUT TO BEGIN . This has been a real chore to undertake, however, I think we have a pretty decent setup here that should coast through the season without the nonsense and strife that plagued the last league.

Anyway, now to the Preview:

Zombie Squadron : After looking like a bunch of demos in their first preseason game against Devil's Bridgade, Zombie Squadron (1-1) is a real mystery, even to me, their captain. We had a shallow victory against a 2-tank Imperators team; who know what we're capable of doing. The team is a good mix of crazed scrummers and ctfers, with a few battlemoders too. The maturity of the team is a bonus, with an average player age somewhere in the late 20's. Player to watch: ROGUE.

The Desert Rats : The Rats (1-1) are real contenders, loosing a heart-breaker to the Metal Slicerz by one point. Under Lep's capable hand, expect a good coordinated battle from these guys. Player to watch: Blitzkreig.

Imperators : The captains were really worried when the Imperators (0-2) didn't really show up for their second preseason game. Sizicus assured everyone that things are back under control. This team revives last season's oh-too-deadly Medulla combination of Quitter and Ben (now Sizicus). The real key, however, will be the attendance of the rest of this young team. Siz and Q can't do this by themselves. Player to watch: Quitter.

Desperados : The Desperados (1-1) are looking good. Expect a fierce, high-scoring, and straightforward game from this crew, with Stan and most of his team eschewing powerups. The Desperados don't have time to grab powerups; they'll be too busy blasting you. Player to watch: Dash.

Devil's Brigade : Supra has some real strategy going on with the Devil's Brigade (1-1)... There is some real brain power at work here. Supra definately has some raw new talent, however. How he cultivates them will make or break the Devils' season. Besides the Zombie Squadron, this is the other real mystery team. Player to watch: AU.

Metal Slicerz : The only team undefeated in preseason, the Metal Slicerz (2-0) are the preliminary favorite for the league championship. They have a good mix of pure battlemoding talent, but they have 10 weeks to prove their spark. Player to watch: Willow.

CONGRATS TO THE RATS and DEVILS BRIGADE...

Victory was ours.... Even though we won by 94-90 , Desperados had put up one HELL of a fight...

5 slicerz vs 4 Desperados.. They fought bravely in both games.... I have to give them credit for that...

I would have to say that we were lucky to win by 2 points each game..... If the 5th DESPERADOS was there..

The outcome could have turned out different....... NICE JOB DESPERADOS.. We would like to see that kind of performance in future games....

Good job.. Slicerz.. Victory sure wasn't easy at all.. In fact, we were shaking up a bit by DESPERADOS..

But you guys too were one HELL of a team... Good job slicerz...
