LOL flea.. Last night's game, I used dial up, I connected at least 20 times to see if my connection was playable...lucky for me, it was playable for like 25 mins... And then my dial up started acting up.... I was able to only play 2 games.. That was it.... Hahahahahahhaahahaha... My ping above was from Leopard Lair, if I checked other servers, I'm sure 4 Digits ping wasn't hard at all... Well.. I'm getting there with Leopard's Lair..

I knew that was you Flea...I think you even took credit for it...seemed a bit proud lol!

Anything can happen this week, it's a tough call due to the unfamiliarity of the map (Hippo Hollow).

A: Favorite: Imperators, Underdog: Metal Slicerz , Spread: 1

The Imps are trying getting their act together, and with Tank0r having a bad lag this could leave the Slicerz ripe for a big upset. If Banshee and Quitter both make it to this game, I predict a close one. I took the 8 Ball's advice on this one and am predicting the Imps by a razor-thin margin.

B: Favorite: The Desert Rats, Underdog: Desperados, Spread: 10

The Desert Rats are on a roll, and will remain undefeated. The Desperados need Stan for this one, and since I don't know what's up with him, I have to favor the Rats by a healthy spread. However, if Stan does show up, Lep will need to break out the antacids--- this one will be close.

Another close one. The ZS is out to revenge a dismal performance against the DB in the preseason, and DB is desperate to break a 2-game loosing streak.

Well Ben , with the way you left the league, it is kinda not fair to yours and other teams to parachute in from time to time when you feel like it, also it is not fair to the existing players, ( newly recruited ) who are trying to show up for every game - hhmmmm - in other words they are and have been committed and making the effort,however , with that said, yes quitters team could use you , however if you intend to be in this league we need a little bit more of an attendance committment,. I will talk to league captains , Your team co-captains( quitter and Banshee )and get back to you.

Actually LC, the 8-Ball and your pt spread prediction was almost dead on concerning our Zombies-DB match. So it didn't do all THAT bad.

BTW, what were the results of the rest of the games? It'd be nice if we had a thread for posting screenies or just results from each game after the matches. Kinda like what we did in the 3 on 3 Scrum League. Anyone feel like doing that?

@MOE- yes, thanks, I know it's there, but I guess I meant right after the matches are complete if we could see results. I just like to know who won/lost and such without waiting a few days for LC to update the chart. Sorry, maybe I'm just a little impatient. Heh.

LC needs to get those SCORES UPDATED CONSTANTLY, right after the game, or he will be forced to RESIGN... LOL HAHHAHAHAHAHA

Leopard paid him $50 + a bread toaster, so he needs to do his job right or else someone will take over.. OK? LC..

IN EVERY GAME, either team needs to take screenies of the score.... And post them in here....

OM & everyone: I post the score updates Wednesday morning for two reasons. One, I usually can't wring the scores out of the other captains until then. Two, right after game I am too busy with my team (as are the other captains are with theirs) chatting it up about who shot who, plans that went to pot, strategies for next week, and how professional Tank0r looks in a well-pressed, 100% cotton oxford from Old Navy.

So, until we get ESPN to start covering TBML, it would be nice for one person out of every game (that's 3 people out of the 30 or so playing) to post the score TEMPORARILY until I can get to it Wednesday morning. This would help me a lot because I won't have to go chasing Leopard and Supra or whoever all around the wide world of Yahoo Messenger and Yahoo Email to get the score info. This would also help those people who "want the scores and want them now". The TEMPORARY posts can then be deleted to save space on this thread after the scoreboard is updated. Don't think I've updated the scoreboard, eh? Try hitting REFRESH on your browser... The scoreboards are jpgs and tend to get old and crusty while they sit in your caches.

Bolo: As far as individual players' stats, that idea had to be aborted. There was not only outright opposition to the idea, but a rash of ambivalence coupled with apathy. Thanks for getting things ready for us Bolo, and I apologize that the idea did not develop further.

Agreed LC50. That's kinda what I was getting at! It was no rib against you fer sure. I don't doubt you have to chase everyone down and interrogate the results out of them.

Come on teams, help out poor ol' LC-fiddy by posting scores, or a quick screenie (preferably just the scores to keep the thread loading fast) after each game. It would help a whole lot. Right now, I often feel like I'm in the dark about results until the middle of the week. I won't die from it, but it would be nice to know.

HEY YO, I have a suggestion, sounds silly, but I think it's not a bad idea, By the end of TEAM BATTLE LEAGUE SEASON, the 1rst & 2nd teams that go to playoffs for the championship, will get T-SHIRTS FROM THINKTANKS, or customize as " ThinkTanks TEAM BATTLE LEAGUE CHAMPION season II" how does that sound?

This will certainly bring out some battling SPIRITS from both captains and players....

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK???? Because I want a T-shirt, cuz I'm covering with Hays, I need a T-shirt..LOL

All though I prefer the notion of toasters , t-shirts are a viable alternative. First however I will have to get the sizes of my teammates and then wait for the other team-probably the "Imps" to give me their sizes before I can put the order in.

TBML once again returns to Lush for the last game of the first half of the season. This week's big matchup is between Zombie Squadon and Metal Slicerz... Clash of the Titans!

This game is as close as it comes, as these two titans are possibly the most evenly matched teams in the league. ZS and MS have never met in battle; expect a fierce game. The 8 Ball likes Tank0r and his team, but not by much.

Look fot the Desert Rats to bounce back from a stinging loss to the Desperados. It won't be easy, however, as the Devil's Brigade has been keeping games close all season. The DB always puts up a great fight, but just can't seem to close the deal.

The Desperados may have their act together after ending the Desert Rats' hopes for an undefeated season. The Imps are trying to pull it together, but they still have a way to go. Still, I predict this game will be decided by less than a 10-point margin.

For a 2nd time the Rat's fall, we shall rise up again. Hats off to the DEvil's , a well played game.

However for the 2nd consecutive week , the rats were plagued by the lag issue, our first game was alright to a certain degree, 2nd game however between conferring an incredible fire rate on the opposing team and myself trying to kill tanks that weren't there , well it tooks its toll..

We definitely need to find reliable servers that will accomodate.

Anywho, well done to the winners this week, and excellent to the imps, well defeated , it was nice to see a decent score and showing.

Good luck to all for the upcoming battles, and beware the rats.

You are wrong about that and you're wrong about the score, Tankor. The score was 136-96: a tie for the most lopsided game of the season. I'm not blaming lag, invincible tanks, magic bullets, or any of my 13 kids (who were busy joining SA and UF at the time)... The Zombie Squadron lost to a superior team last night.

What upsets me the most is the server situation... SNAFU. Took us an amazing 30 minutes to get the game started and by the time the game was over, it was too late for me to do anything (chat, gripe about lag, or post scores) the rest of the night. I know we're working with a network of volunteers here, and that I can't bitch too much. I think we need more volunteers, however, preferably those from outside the TBML. I will try to petition the more reliable scrum regulars with decent connections to start setting servers up for us... If we have like 6-7 servers up each night, we might actually get games started on time and silence the lag-monster. If any of the scrum-battlemode crossover players (Bolo, OM, Flea, etc.) has any experience with the scrummers' hosting abilities, send me some names and emails of reliable people with good connections (yeah, yeah, and I want world peace too while you're at it).

One more thing. Hypo Hills.... I'm noticing that Blue team won in all 3 games. Is this a coincidence?

If there is an inherent tilt of this map against Green team (as Medulla Mesa is tilted against Blue), the captains may need to discuss the championship game, which is currently scheduled for Hypo Hills.

Dorko--- It would be fun to organize bets against the spread, but I currently lack 2 things:

1. The money to back it up

2. The big guy named "Pauly" to go break legs when people don't pay up

Could run a virtual betting system with play money (like each person gets $100 to start with or something) and we could run it on another thread. Person with the most winnings at the end of the season wins. Maybe we could get Leopard to send the winner a toaster or something. Or, if everyone really trusted me ;) , people could PayPal me $5 or something and the winner would win the pooled money (or the pooled money minus a small administrative fee for yours truly).

Well, Like I said, the hosting gave us a huge advantage, especially air force, I was lag like hell, I know some of you got lagged too..

But, you decided to use AIR FORCE's server, not me right?.... I know I was lagging really bad, my ping was 200+ when I first got into his server, but later it got worst the minute everybody joined.... I was tired of running around looking for a freaking decent server... And PTT server screwed up too.. Somebody needs to donate some money to PTT.... That way we can have better servers for our future games... I"ll tell my guys to make some donations to PTT ok?

Hmm, LC, you make a good point about the Hypo Hills map and what Green teams goes through on it. All in all, Slicerz are a superior team, no doubt, but as we had feared, our spawn locations left a bit to be desired. Too spread out for green I think. Puts them at a small disadvantage. Oh well, live and learn as they say.

And as for the server situation. OY! That's all I can say. What a stinkin' mess! This league needs some help, in regards to hosting. I USED to be able to host games, but my TT installation is giving my heartaches lately, and for some reason, noone can see my hosted games anymore. 8o I'll work on figuring that out so hopefully I can serve as a backup for next Tuesday's game. Oh, as for scrummers hosting, try to petition Reagent X to host. He has a fast new comp and good connection. He had some "issues' in the beginning, but has worked them out since then.

LC₅₀ 's Midseason Review-Preview

The season is rolling right along. Can you believe that half the season is over? Have I been sleeping? The good news is that the teams are keeping it close, and this season has a lot of excitement left. Three teams are tied for second place, with only one win away from the top contender.

Anyway, now to the story:

Zombie Squadron : Before last nights debacle, Zombie Squadron (3-2) looked like serious challengers for the top spot in the league. Alas, ZS may be fading into mediocrity, or they may be saving their strength. Although they have a good mix of strategy and talent, the key for this team is attendance. This rock-solid roster of 7 has been the only roster that has stood unchanged since the February draft meeting.

The Desert Rats : The Rats (3-2) were going strong until they met with 2 surprising losses in their last 2 games. Expect Leopard to pick this team back up. Attendance and dedication is high for this team, and theres no lack of talent and strategy either. This team will go the distance if they can get out of their slump.

Imperators : Oh the Imps! The Imperators (0-5) represent the effects of Murphys Law on TBML. Attendance, lack of interest, email problems, work, biting insects, and other maladies have plagued this team. We tried, and will continue to try, to get this team healthy. Everyone owes them a big thanks for sticking with it. With attendance improving and Banshee doing a great job of organizing the team, this team may make trouble for a few of the teams.

Desperados : The Desperados (3-2) are the most unpredictable team in the league. Their on-again-off-again record says it all. You never know what to expect when playing this team, although it seems they lack map-specific strategy. What they seem to lack in that category, however, is made up by raw talent. Attendance is good, even without their captain at the helm. Dash is doing a great job of keeping the team running.

Devil's Brigade : Before they toppled The Rats, I would have told you that the Devils Brigade (2-3) was in serious trouble. A few of their players are loose cannons and do not communicate well, which does not well-suit the rest of the teams defensive style of play. If Supra can get some participation and a few emails now and then from his team, their recent win could give them the necessary boost to make a run at the top.

Metal Slicerz : The Metal Slicerz (4-1) have risen to the undisputed top of the heap, their only loss being a 4-point slip-up. A great mix of talent with a good dose of strategy, MS are the odds-on favorite to sweep the rest of the season. The only problem I foresee is attendance. If any of their core players miss games in the coming weeks, it may spell disaster for this team. The three teams tied for second place are going to keep right on their heels.

WTF is this about Devil's loose cannons and non-communication? I'd like to know how you came to that conclusion. As far as I can tell, Im the only player on the team that likes to run solo and was given the green light to do so in a few games. Every other player stays within 6 inches of one another. Please, please tell me more. Im certain that the Devils show far less separation than the couple of freelancers I've seen on your squad.

As for the discussion about advantages: Yes certain terrain makes a difference. Servers make a difference. Actual location of where in the world you are playing the game makes a difference. I've played enough games to see that. I've always complained about certain players that have advantages for different reasons. I know there are days that I'm getting that advantage. Lag me all you want, I dont mind the shield. I can't wait to play against the teams who have beaten us once. I'll continue to prove my abilities during the season. Since I don't play 7 days a week and have a high profile name, I shall remain as a surprize. And, I shall continue to own your tank like I did when we played you. :P
