Each team will be responsible for hosting their own HOME games.

I am looking for hosters to host games for those who do not have hosting capabilities.
I don't beleive this league has the luxury of looking for the perfect server. We need to just get the games played.

Captains, Please let me know you plans to get the missed games rescheduled and played.
Contact me if you need a server.

Important Information

IF you are playing Team Euro, the gametime that is preferred is Thursday 7:00 PM EST. If Teams can play 4 on 4, they should do so to make it simpler. If games cannot be accomodated on Thursday night at 7:00 EST, then each team, has from Thursday night (current game week) until the following Wednesday night to play to complete their games, if the schdeuled game time cannot be met by either team. If the game is NOT PLAYED by Wed. Night (USA) then it will be awarded a split.

I just noticed something. IS and TDR are the only teams to have played all their games and I think that's worth mentioning. Can we get a :) for attendance? And I think it means the standings are due to shift a bit once those "2.000"s are replaced by real scores. ;)

Thanks Cap'ns... Could not let my heavy brothers down in their time of need. Plus, the chance to play alongside some of the greatest heavies that ever played the game was too much to resist and well worth the pain, suffering, and days of training needed for me to come out of retirement.

Learned something tonight, just not having fun anymore. I am done. Please don't think I am basing my decision because we lost tonight. I dislike losing as much as the next guy but to much bs for me. Don't like coming into a lagging server and see the other captain state that we begged and complained for the last games to be stopped. Sorry I just like fair games, not a game were one team who is hosting the game has the person hosting also playing. Yes I am aware others on the other team were lagging too. I did decide to play the game because I/we already have a ton of games to make up. Wish I had more time to deal with this all, I don't. Let me know when we get some decent servers and I will grace you with my presence once again.(hehe)

Yes servers have been a major factor this season (but don't quit on us)
Now plz don't anyone take this personal but some connnections
are strung up with tin cans and string.
I think Bombos server is West coast but last game on that server the opponent
ran circles around us. Yet Inf Monks server is Cali for sure but has incredibly smooth play
Now my server is East coast and smack in the middle of a the fiber optic hub
Smooth as silk except to the guys in Napalm and Bolos area. Yet ppl from Michigan,
Cali and Europe say it consistently runs great.

I don't know what the answer is but heres my 2 cents
1. GO with the strongest servers: Roo and Monk (need one more)
2. If a hoster wants to play he MUST serve from a SEPERATE machine
3. If one captain reports 3 or more of his players with over 125 ping then the game
SHOULD be rescheduled

Everyone is here to be competitive as well as interested in some giggles
The hardware issues have significantly effected nearly everyone
Its extremely disheartening to me because I never play with high latency!
I immediately leave a server if I start skipping or if I unload full 2 clips and the other tank kills mine
So I have ZERO experience in this environment
(I don't know how the Euro and Aussie guys do it!!!)

I think I might be able to help with a server. I can set one up at work and play at home. There's a ¹ /₂ T1 coming into the office, so it should be OK for most people. And yes, the folks at the office are that cool (besides, its after hours so nobody cares).

Wow! I ahd no idea how JACKED this league is/was. Unbelievable. I'm not sure if anybody reads this stuff.

Sent out an email a week ago and still haven't heard form some of the captains.
Sent out an email and have only hear form two players from my team.

Only two others from my team showed up, and only one person from the opposing team. Playing a little scrimmage before the games and nobody around at gametime.

I have to say this is quite the failure of an organized league. I don't see any way that this will be brought back on track.

I have better things to do with my time than sitting around waiting for unreliable players.

THIS LEAGUE IS DOOMED.

I'm leaving the chair. Park whatever ass you want in it.

In that case, I just wanna say...IronSloth rocks! Sure, we play well, but we've made every game and there's a lot of communication between our players, both on and off the field (at least pregame). InfiniteMonkey is doing a fine job keeping us loners informed and lined up. I'm willing to bet the same is true for a few other teams as well. Napalm, try focusing on those teams and let the losers, well, lose. :)

I don't see how quitting as a player, captain or commissionner is helping this league in troubled times. The answer to make this thing work is to hang in there and do with the current situation. The more of you that quit one after an other is only making it worse. It surely isn't helping. And for christ sake, stop complaining because the playing conditions are less than perfect. Of course it's better to have instantaneous fire - I and others accross the oceans know this better than anyone - but so far our team hasn't hosted one game yet and we're in first place. That should tell you something...and no, we're not on steroids (must be that lag shield again ;) )

Your team (three members of it) were waiting for you to return last night.
The TDR had about six members waiting.
Remember game time was 9:30eastern, not 9:00 eastern.
They were there well before game time and waited about 20minutes afterwards.
You never showed (your team said you left with a BRB)
Thats a lot of waiting for a captain and commish, who then in turn blows steam at the whole league.
Maybe a time for self reflection rather than mass annihilation.

Hey Baba, you don't know what your talking about. Yes, I was there in MY server. The home teams were supposed to host the match. We were home, I had my server, only Delta entered. Nobody even entered my server (other than the 4 of us) between 9:00 and 9:30.

My "Teammates have not (with the exception of 1) replied to my emails at all. That sounds like a team, and yes only two others showed up.

Most of the captains have not replied to my email either.

Since I posted changes to the league (4 days earlier btw) there have been 21 post in this thread.

How many asked questions of the changes, or responded to my posts or suggestions? 1 Lonewolf

Ya know Baba, I have stepped up, in into a mess, with a newborn on the way in 4 weeks. I have commis'd PS, I actively play and admin private servers, and create create great places for people to play.

What are you doing? Wanting for someone to blow little tidbits at? Really, tell me what you have sacrificed in the years you have been here. Please take as much space as need. I'll give you as much time as you need too.

I haven't made this league as jacked as it is, I've only been here for 5 days. And now I'm not. I have things going on and I offered to help when this was presented to me. But I'm not wasting my time when it appears much of the interest is gone.

LW is having my baby but he will still stick around to captain the team. Napkin just wants to mod, host, play once in a while and drink a lot before he has to stay up late nites with a new crying baby in the house.

Looks like BoP and the Carbuncles need to elect new captains.

We also need a new commissioner. Any volunteers or nominations?

It seems since I left the game about a fortnight ago the game has fallen into pieces. Rather sad that we can't organize an event, like the good people in scrum.

It will be a while before I get to play this game again... I have un-installed TT from my PC, and my N52 drivers.

I vote me to be the new commissioner, and take this competition into 2006 and beyond.

The advantages will be that I am no longer associated with any team, and I can co-ordinate this competition with my eyes close.

I know I have been a wild card in the past, but give me a chance to rise to new heights.

As I indicated above I don't play TT due to my job, however I don't believe that the commissioner needs to play in order to co-ordinate a well run competition, or needs to set time aside full-time to co-ordinate this competition. A commissioner, in my eyes, and I could be wrong, really justs needs to observe that all is going OK, much like pilots. Once the plane has taken off everything is on auto pilot, all a pilot does is observe that all the controls, and gauges are running smoothly.

If people would rather choose someone else I am OK with that, and all I can do is wish the new commissioner the best in his/her new role.

Assign decent servers - elect a Cap to BoP - fold the buncles

@Stan I admit we haven't played on a Euro server but niether have you played on
a lousy connection from the west coast. (not a complaint just trying to make this smooth for
everyone)
Somewhere inbetween is a happy medium to be found....

Making this event work is very simple:
- Don't quit on it.
- Show up for games.

It seems the "cartoon tank" analogy has had a devastating effect on the way people perceive this activity. This is NOT a cartoon game, it's a REAL game played by REAL people. This game is even more tangible into your life than a whole other bunch of activities that you take seriously without thinking twice about. Don't you watch movies in which you have no part to play and nothing to say about the script, just being passive. I do and I don't feel bad about it. Don't you watch sports games and get your adrenaline going even though it has nothing to do with your own life. At least on TT you're the player, you're not a total unknown watching millionnaires playing a game that has no incidence on your life at all. I'm sure you could find more examples of nearly irrelevant stuff that you do, just because you enjoy it. Should you feel bad about it ?

What I'm saying is, if you want to downgrade the things you do in life, TT might not be the first one to start with.

Don't be fooled by the fact that it's being played through a computer screen with funny looking tanks bouncing around. This game has thrown off many who thought they were clever enough to devise a winning strategy. It's a complex game with many components in it. Accuracy, anticipation, instinctive perception of opponents moves and creativity reacting to it. There's also the social interraction that is sometimes pleasant, sometimes funny, sometimes challenging and sometimes puzzling. This is real life. We even have our bad guys ;-). How amazing it is when you can almost see through the players personnality just by the way they play this game.

We have a new, virtual commisioner. What he does, is basically, he presses the auto-pilot button there somewhere on his desktop and all we have to do is just... Play!

Well who ever is going to do the totals on scoring ,, our last match should be made up , all of our team was very high, I was pinging 200 consistantly and choose to sit. I mean I could not see my bullets except the first one out. Bombo, had a ping of 15 while willow was at 30. That is why Nuts quit. I will stay but that match won't count. I said a half hour before that match started I would not have played it. We were hounded to play or they were talking about forfiet.

I need the new commissioner to get a voice chat going with Stan & me and the new commissioner about todays match please ASAP.

In order to move forward, and avoid going around in circles each captain should post whom they believe should be the new commissioner. They may also obtain input from their team. The longer it takes the more damage will be done to TBML.

Direction is needed, and captains should take responsibility to make sure that a new commissioner is voted in, and give TBML direction.

In order to do this process rather quickl, each captain should place a vote within 48 hours, rather than waiting on an eternity.
