*****************************Congratulations*********************************************
******************************The Cuddly Teddy Bears
*************************Summer Scrum Champions**************************
*********************************** ******************************************************
***************************************************************************

This will be a 4 on 4 tournamnet
This will be a set day and time Wednesday nights at 09:30 Eastern Time)

Games will start Wednesday JUNE 1st 9:30 EST, Finals will be played on August 3rd 2005

We will utilize the home team concept as in Psycho Scrum. Home teams will be required to host their games.
Each match consists of 2 games. Match scoring will be used like last season (W = 2 pts, L = 0 pts, T = 1 pt, W both games = 1 extra point).

I think this is a great oppertunity to introduce some new maps that are a bit on the extreme side. We can include some great maps by Rooster, Dash, Monkee Man, Crapblaster, Triv, Wiz, KBC, MAX CR, Wiz, and myself.
This should add a lot of variety and keep things interesting.

******This will require installing the Expansion Pack and the Mod_Pack to eliminate downloads and wait time.*****

One thing that crippled our chances for either team to win.

Air goals.

No mo' o' those next year please.

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 5:57:08 AM

I plan to double the amount of air goals. LOL j/k Remeber this is a fun Summer league, don't get tooo bent out of shape. Have fun! Anyone need a slushy?

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 6:12:24 AM

^^^ dont count on it :P :)

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 6:24:17 AM

I love the air goals, except I think they need to have more than one way to get to them.

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 6:26:44 AM

Actually there is a second way to get to that goal as Delta has mentioned in previously or in another thread. Most just havn't figured it out yet because the map is relativly new. I never made it to the second option due to the intense firing of the Special Ed's. I think my tank averaged a 5 second life span throughout the games.

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 6:43:38 AM

Hey Nappy, nice graph! I could not find the X-Terminators on there though. Also do we get the bonus point for winning both games?

@ Napalm
Melted Snowball has no one who can host ! :(

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 9:05:57 AM

Ya Reagent, your team is out of the league. J/k Na, I screwed up the chart. I added the point to the other chart and will update the keynote chart when I get back home to the happy place where Apple rules the world!!

Lonewolf, I would suggest sending inquiries to guys that may be able to host but not play that week. Like dash, Roo, Myself or BC.

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 10:37:31 AM

I got your email LW I can host for you.

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 3:20:29 PM

Personal kudos to all players in the Fun Guys/Melted Snowball game yesterday. It was awesome. Special recognition goes to Walrus for his last second tie-breaking squeaker-score in the second game. Too bad he contaminated his magnificence by spending the afternoon camping in indie scrum ;)

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 4:02:13 PM

Haha, I can't play indy scrum because when I play TS I instinctively go to the goal and play it from there, but then I end up doing the same thing in indy and look like a fool. I can't help myself ;)

The games last night really were awesome though, I wanna see a replay of the last game, hopefully BC recorded it. The Snowballs had just tied it up as the 30 second counter came on. Then the scrum dropped inbetween the goal and Big Show and it looked to be a fb winner. Luckily though I was smoking and after my team killed me I respawned just a little ways from the goal and was able to get over just in time to have a chance at Bigs. It was crazy intense.

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 5:19:59 PM

I drew this rendering of Walrus one day in a game of scrum. He was the perfect subject since he never moves. Notice the incredibly small garment needed to keep his manhood from ones eye.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 5:46:16 PM

Nice graph!

I just got Nappy's revised Siberia into the PSL 8.5 rotation that is up on my server. It is cycling through all the 6 league maps.

@Rogue

That's actually a pretty accurate portrait. Except the garment must have been your own little invention, I always play in the nude.

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 8:03:54 PM

Way to go Wally, hope your seat isn't vinyl cause the summers is going to be hot and really sticky for yah.

Delta

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 8:26:44 PM

No wonder wal is good at camping; he just sits his fat butt in the goal and he's so big he overlaps the goal and you cant even budge him.

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 8:32:43 PM

Now what would I look like?!

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 8:41:06 PM

You scared the crap out of me in indie walrus, there I was just about to score then this thing was infront of me camping! Just staring, staring with BIG red eyes, Ooo Scary!!

Thursday, June 02, 2005 at 11:36:20 PM

@ Nap is Ribkicker your home map? The bears want to practice on it. Your server says siberia and it's locked can you email me the pass?

PLease get back to me ASAP. Thanks,

Delta

Friday, June 03, 2005 at 3:20:21 PM

NO, I modified the map (siberia) so It's more playable. It was only a mission file change, so it only affects those who host it. The pass is the league pass. Just go on in and have at it.

Friday, June 03, 2005 at 3:57:42 PM

Hey, sweet job on all the charts up there Nap. Just wanted to thankyou for puttin all that stuff together and organizing this all.

Friday, June 03, 2005 at 4:53:43 PM

I do, and we can all thank Pyronin foe allowing me to use one of his awsome sanps! Of couse I think it would have been a little big-headed if I used a pic of myself. I believe that snap is of Major Pain. I just really love the perspactive of that snap. Down and dirty, in the mix. I love it.

@ The Walrus, thanks a bunch!!! All of the charts I picked up from Reagent. I wanted to keep everything as similar as I could to PS8. I just changed some colors, text, and some of the pics. I give most of the credit to Reagent. :}

That chart is good. Nice job Nap and whoever else helped.

For those that play the Ed's next: Make sure you bring your rain gear. We're the kings of spittle.

Thats my skin up there. :P

Scorchers read your email.

Tuesday, June 07, 2005 at 6:16:31 AM

Absolutely Awesome!

That pretty much sums up the match between FG and ED tonight.
First game was a 9-9 tie.
Second game was a 9-8 Ed's loss. (We had the scrum halfway in the goal when time ran out!)

@ Captains

We need to define the rules for starting the first game. Especially those games beginning with an all leave and then re-enter. By the time I entered the first game we were down 2-0. I know they spoke of game on at restart but don't we always wait until all players have entered? I think a simple definition of rules would help out for future games.

The Ed's acknowledge defeat and aren't protesting. I just want to make it clear that we're not bitter. Those games were a friggin' blast!

How about some screenies in the other thread?

Good games fella's!

Wednesday, June 08, 2005 at 7:40:42 PM

@Rogue

Clearly the best way is to wait for the timer. But when you need to all jump out and all jumo back in, here is what I would suggest:

1. Everyone leave server, if an admin is playing he should be the last to leave
2. No one should enter until you click refresh and see an empty server
3. Everyone should join (while making sure you select the right color)
4. No one should move until both capatains say "Game on"
5. If an admin is present they should then execute the Nuke command to kill all players and start the game
6. If no admin is present, all players should drive to the edge and dive to start game

Sounds like a plan to me!

Thursday, June 09, 2005 at 6:21:27 AM

I was observing the first game and have some nice aerial screenies, will post them this evening.

Thursday, June 09, 2005 at 7:54:50 AM

GG Teddys. If you weren't outnumbered, you might have won! :)

Thursday, June 09, 2005 at 9:55:24 AM

I mentioned a good solution for how to start a match last night. I think the matches should start when dash says so. No exceptions, no matter how many goals dash scores while you sit waiting for the word to go.

Thursday, June 09, 2005 at 10:01:14 AM

Post 445. :)

Thursday, June 09, 2005 at 12:02:20 PM

@Dash lol

@Reagent X

1. 6. If no admin is present, all players should drive to the edge and dive to start game

The problem with that one is that when using the averager script, the first player in will get the scrum on his head if he joins before the scrum drops in. If he spawns in a goal it's an instant score. This happened against the Wolfpack last season by Oddball in a dive-start.

Thursday, June 09, 2005 at 3:22:30 PM

^ BC, actually this will not happen if no one picks up the scrum in the first place (as they shouldn't).

X is right Bolo, if the scrum is on the ground when everybody dives, the scrum will still be on the ground when they respawn. That's a good procedure that X posted for restarts except it's really hard to get everybody to sit still until the "go" is given. It's kind of like herding cats.

Friday, June 10, 2005 at 3:40:34 PM

If he joins before the scrum drops in. If he spawns in a goal it's an instant score

This happens in the stock maps....it can also happen in mods....so if it does then we need another rule to restart the process again!!

B

Friday, June 10, 2005 at 6:57:37 PM

Yikes people. The game's a bit random. If you don't think you can overcome a one goal deficit in 15 minutes, something is a wee wrong.

Friday, June 10, 2005 at 8:03:30 PM

Maybe the host could just type " cyclegame(); " So the map will restart.

You type "cyclegame();" into terminal or MS DOS window

Saturday, June 11, 2005 at 4:22:21 AM

@Pedro

WOW!!! That's the command we've been needing!! Perfect for starting league games!!! WOOHOO!!

GJ Pedro!!!!!!!!

Saturday, June 11, 2005 at 6:07:03 AM

The problem with the cyclegame(); command is that it TOTALLY screws up the clock!!! The first game will be close to 15 minutes (if you're lucky) but the following game will be less than 30 seconds! Try it if you want for fun - but BEWARE and don't do this for league games!!

I found lagmans post on this cycle game business. I made it a code called /restart in my server. Login
and check it out, I think it works now.

Sunday, June 12, 2005 at 9:40:16 AM

Woot go me XD

Thanks for editing it Dash! Any releases on Admin Codes?? V0.6??
