It's not like we've lost a fellow soldier in combat. The leaving player is moving on in life.
1. Sometimes the person has a dramatic event in their life. So, your saying we can't say "get well soon, been fun" to them?
2. It sucks when someone leaves because they are fun to play with.
Player: I'm leavin TT for good. Yes I just think it's time to move on.
Player 2. I'm gonna miss ya man! Sniff*
2. They're just not playing a game anymore. Not that big a deal.
Show me where that has actually happened. I'm not trying to start a flame war here, it just seems you think that everyone's too dramatic, and I want more than 1 pic from ya to prove it.
Yes, some of us actually have made friends on TT. Some, we IM, chat, and talk about plain crap that's gone on. And yea, it would be dissapointing to see one of my friends to go and they IM less and less.
PS: Take it to note, I'm not trying to get you P.O.ed, so don't take this too seriously
1. I'm not talking about sick leavers. I'm talking about people who leave when they are perfectly healthy. I think we both know that.
2. If you really make friends on TT, I'm not questioning that. But on the other hand, why will they IM you less and less. Real friends would keep IMing you.
3. I have couple of examples. One: He was moving on and he seemed happy about it to me. and My personal favorite. He was making himself upset by trying to police TT. As if you could do that! XD. And I love the "God be with you" post. That reminds me of what the driver of the boat said to the men at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan.
Driver: Clear the ramp! 30 seconds! God be with you!
C'mon, man.

Y'know, maybe we will miss them. I have made some excelent friends in the little cartoon game. Nyar, Saint Jimmy, Jacob, Monica, Player, and blizter (that just off the top of my head ATM). I was very sad when Eagle Warrior, Repent, Ice Punk and Tauros left. I actually never really got to spend that much time with Tauros, but he helped me get aquainted with PTT. The point is, you do get some bonds with people here, and you do make some pretty good friends.
Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.
Jadewind, it's very simple. This is a small community, with people who play each other very often. And, you have armies, leagues, etc.. These three things give people a very close feeling to the rest, meaning good friendships. Whenever someone leaves, it is a sad thing, because that's a little bit we lose from this community, and without that little something the person has (ex: If Bloop left, we wouldn't have his little quirky comments that make you secretly laugh.), PTT isn't quite the same. So yeah, we are gonna be sad when someone leaves.
^LOL Nice GQ
^^ I wonder, who is that directed at?

I hope I don't offend any "serious TTers" when I say this. But ok here it goes.
I never realized how overly-dramatic it is when someone leaves. Sure, you've played alot of games with them, but have you really developed that close a relationship thorugh an online video game? If so, I am impressed. Now I'm not here to call anyone pathetic or weird or poke a finger at people.
And, my friends, I'm NOT stopping my TT gaming. Even though I need to find a computer to play it. :P
All I wanted to get across is that I just think we need to lighten up on the drama when someone "leaves" TT. I mean, it's not like we've lost a fellow soldier in combat. The leaving player is moving on in life. That's not much of a big deal. Every time someone leaves, we act like it's the end of the world and we get ourselves down in the dumps. I ask a simple question. Why should we do this to ourselves? I say it's harming us to get so worked up about things like that. So a couple of talking points (yes I watch O'Reilly Factor. NO SPIN ZONE! :P)
1. When someone leaves, it should be handled like this.
Player: I'm gonna play baseball.
Player 2: Ok. Cya.
Player 3. Later.
Not
Player: I'm leavin TT for good. Yes I just think it's time to move on.
Player 2. I'm gonna miss ya man! Sniff* :'(
2. They're just not playing a game anymore. Not that big a deal.
And 3. When I stopped playing for that year long absense, I can recall all the hooblah that went around on my account. People, I know you care about me and like me, but try to like me and care about me a little less for both our sakes. :)
So, if you guys want to continue taking "leaving" very seriously, I will respect that. All I wanted was to get my view on the subject across. I'll say nothing more than thanks for listening if you didn't skip to the end of my post in ignorance of my reserved and well though out post XD.
