To the TT community:

I will no longer be actively playing TT. The idiotic behavior has been increasing exponentially and I'm tired of trying to police it. This game has been taken over by 10 year olds, some of them have just had a few more more birthdays than that. What used to be a fun game now just leaves me seething in anger after I'm done. I know there are still a few decent players out there but the bad far outweighs the good, and I'm sick of it. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon and leaving because of anything but the reasons listed above, and this has been a long time coming. It really is a shame because I still enjoy the game itself, but the people who are currently playing are what I'm trying to get away from. I will miss the few of you who try to play the game the right way.

He mostly is leaving because of campers, BMers, divers, etc. He says that any of what I just listed is cheating. I am most of the reason he is leaving because I actually feel that this is a game, and in indie scrum I say anything goes except diving. I know that many of you agree, but some do not, its your opinion to disagree. I find the game relaxing, and I dont cheat most of the time. I do admit that I "Bend" the rules quite a bit tho. But whats the fun in a game where you cant bend the rules? In real life, we are surrounded by rules, can we play a friggin game to get away from them??

Anyways, for those who disagree with what I am saying, its your opinion and you are entitled to it. If you dont like it, you can just leave, just like Demo.

This is perhaps why we r being dominated Demo, all the good players leaving (because they can't take the abuse) and more losers joining the game...

We must make a bow (sp) to not leave no matter how bad it gets... If all good players start leaving, what r the chances of ever restoring TT to it's rightful place?= Top game, fun, exiting etc...

It's just not gonna work if all the good players leave.

You are not the reason I am leaving. It's almost everyone here. I can tolerate you. (although the more I talk to you the less I like you...especially what I heard from you today and in the above post) I don't think this is an adult issue. I think it is an issue of human nature, and I am dissapointed that many of you choose the "dark side" when you are in an online game. People are getting worse and worse just because everyone else is. Doesn't anybody have any morals anymore? I can't be the only one that feels this way or so many people wouldn't be leaving. Look at all the big names that have left recently or hardly play anymore. EVERYONE contributes to the state of the game. One person can't ruin it for everyone, but when everyone starts doing it, we all suffer. If your behavior is bad enough to make people want to quit doing something they enjoy, then I think you need to need to take a long hard look at yourself. I think how you play TT says a lot about who you are, and I'm not going to change who I am just to fit in better in this game. I know camping, diving, and needless bm'ing are all part of the game, but we all know deep down that they are wrong. It just feels all wrong to do those things...it feels like cheating to me. I would rather earn my goals.

I am in a lose-lose situation here...stay and not have fun or be a quitter. In the end I just decided that the game is not fun anymore and I have better things to do with my time than feeding the trolls around here. I may check in from time to time to see how things are going or to bm a few campers, but I'm basically done unless things change.

I understand your frustration and agree with your evaluation of the current status of the game, but I truly hope you do not quit for good.
As some wise veteran told me not long ago when I wanted to give up for the same reasons you have, the best thing to do is take a nice long break from the game and come back renewed with a fresh new approach. Sure, there will still be a bunch of juvenile imbeciles (as well as mature morons) playing their new brand of dirty scrum, but you don't want to quit and let them win! I think it's critical that the good clean players stick around! If for no other reason than to annoy the filthy players who are trying to take over the game!

Also, what keeps me going is that every once in a while (perhaps once every dozen or so games) a great clean scrum game breaks out!
For some reason, when the moon and the stars align just right, you will find yourself in a game full of excellent (clean!) players! It could happen in indie scrum, but most of the time it happens in team scrum. It's almost impossible to find a clean game when there is daylight, so the best odds are after dark! I guess that's when most of the kiddies have their milk and cookies and go to sleep. However, there will still be those long time players who show up and pseudo-camp, dive and battlemode.

So, I hope you reconsider your retirement because you are one of the best players around and you play by the rules (old school rules anyway).
If you do go away for a while, remember that there are a bunch of us good clean players out here trying to keep the game alive and played the way it is supposed to be played. You are welcome back any time.

P.S. Here is a short list of good clean scrummers that will give you the best chance of actually playing a good clean game of scrum!
44 (always spectacular and hilarious)
memphis (always funny as hell and never fails to score some goal that leaves your jaw hanging open in shock and awe)
cadc (although his name seems to atract legions of munchkin battlescrumming cadc-wannabe's)
racer (young but talented like cadc but without the over-inflated ego)
reagent x (a gentleman and a legend)
god/pharmaceticals (powerful and a great teammate)
Ben/Fried Chicken/Zorro/Sizicus (the best blend of power and grace in scrum! He can win with shooting or just driving)
Tankgirl (strongest indicator of a good clean game, but sadly she never plays anymore)
JameBomb (same as above)
The Ro Show/Rooks (awesome talent and good sport)
Max (gifted and mesmerizing when he isn't lagging)
Hugobrain, Baba, Dar, KJ, MJ, Prey, etc. (long time great scrummers)

Sorry if I came off rather rude. You know I like you and respect your game tremendously! That's why I mentioned what I did.
The whole cadc wannabe's comment was a compliment as I've noticed that you seem to have the most admirerers and followers thanks to your dynamic playing style and success.
As for the other comment about the ego, maybe I was harsh there. You had one brief egomaniacal spell that seems done now.
By the way, no one can blame you for getting a big head because you have experienced an incredible amount of success at such a young age.

I must say I hope you just forgot about the WOLF on your list of Old School players who are great to play with ! If not I must say my Old Fiend that was a straight shot into my heart ! I do all I can to teach others to play the game the right way, all even admit to the fact I refuse to play with the bad players. The minute they enter a game I do leave, only due to the fact,Life is to short to get upset over little things ! So why even give them a chance to destroy a good game! B)

You know, I dont know what in the world you have against me, but for reason I was targeted. I feel like you and a few other ppl here have disrespected me. You know I may have my opinions, but I am one of the few that did just like pai said, I took a break from the game because I had the same opinion as you believe it or not. I came back, saw that all morals went to hell with new ppl bringing bad habbits, so I decided to do what I have to do to win.
Now as a very annoying person told me today (it was Mr Awesome bye the way), he said took what I said literally and BMed my ass the whole game!!!!! This of course mad me loose because I cant bm well :'( but anyway the point is some ppl took what I said too far. I DO NOT agree with BMing ANYONE when they dont have the scrum. To those who I have done this too before (Demolition I know you), I apologize. I will never do that again...so I am changin what I have to say:

IN INDIE SCRUM:

NO Battlemodding someone whos DOES NOT have the scrum.
NO diving with the scrum.
Camping I say ok to, but to sit and w8 for like a million years while the scrum is on the other end of the field is NOT ok I am going to correct this in my play. If everyone including the scrum is around the goal, I say ok to camping.
And as far as cliffhanging im not even gonna touch the subject...

For the record, I've been using my name Paisano 90% of the time, so I rarely use aliases anymore. I only do it when I see players that I know will proceed to bm me to no end for whatever reason.

There goes that runaway ego again. Yes, you have amazing skills and you are very young, but don't fool yourself into thinking you're better than me any longer. Ask around and you will find that I've improved a great deal. As a matter of fact, I've beaten you in most (not all) of the games that we've played in. Sure, I was using an alias in some of them, but also Paisano in others. You think what you want... Doesn't matter anyway.
It's just a cartoon tank game that is going to die any day now when they pull the plug on it.

Thanks for the support. I really respect your opinions. Perhaps I was a bit hasty in flat out quitting. The major problem I have is with indie games and the players there. With the times I play, most of the time that's all that is available. If there was a team game available any time, I don't think I would have ever had any of these issues because teams doesn't have the problems associated with indie. Soooooo, I guess I'll just be quitting indie to keep my blood pressure from skyrocketing, and just playing teams, while my skills slowly deteriorate from lack of playing time. :(

Weather or not you 2 agree on how each other feels is not the issue here. We all have the right to feel different about the same issues,what is the important part here is we (I hope ) learn to express are feelings to one another in a calm and civil matter. The only reason I would inflict violence would be if I was in danger in some way. Demolition did make me nervous, I threaten because I would kill someone if they tried to harm me or my family physically. Ive heard stories about ppl gettin in arguements and one of them hunting the other down. I was just worried, so I told him what I would do if that happens. I dont think demo would do that tho, just as a precaution. Cant be too careful these days.

A) Since when have you taken the cam approach? I've always been calm. You are blowing up, threatening violence, swearing...that's not exactly the calm approach. Chill out and take a little constructive criticism. When we talked I made it clear that it was not just about you but about everyone who plays that way, but you decided to take it personally. The only reason I even brought it up with you is because you asked. There are a lot of vets that I would like to have the same conversations with, and I have started a few threads along these lines.

B) Nothing I've ever said to you is out of line for a twentysomething to be saying to a 16 year old. Those were some great games last night and CLEAN! Yes, there were WAY too many tanks in the game (14 excellent scrummers on one map is extremely busy if you ask me!)! Still, the action was non-stop and the scores very low (the team with me , wolf and bolo tied 8-8 in one game and won the last one 8-4). Special props to memphis for a studly game in the tied match in which he scored half his team's goals (I got 3 of the 8 in the second game).

So, you see, there are great clean scrum games every once in a while. You just have to go thru a bunch of crap before you find a good one!
