^Where did this clown come from? OK, let's aim for next Wednesday then after Psycho. If you can send the mission file to dash, I think we're good to go!

Edit: Help me out here, please. What file is required for the burning whitehouse? I can create it easily in Motion and other 3D rendering programs, but I have no idea what TT needs. What does the torque engine need as an animated file? Can my animation be translated into torque? And, most importantly, can I link the ferocity of the burning whitehouse with traditional Canuck apathy?

The firt main part is the 3d object. It needs to be in a.dts file format for TT to understand it. Newer versions of TGE games understand other file formats but TT is still stuck inly with.dts.
I'll look into the ani sequence, maybe an emitter will do the trick.

Dash confirmed he will host the map after the scrum league games tonight.

I believe there will be a 26 player limit. Laggy maybe? Fun? I think so.

There is no pass on it currently I'll set it tonight before the game if someone will send it to me. I was thinking people who don't know how or don't want to preload can just connect early and load the map and objects.

Here's what I decided to do. With all of the talk about lag and maps I have decided to employ a new test map using the canada map.

I'm pulling no punches here.

The short version.
As you can see I removed all of the land that used to be outside of the playing area.
There are no sky textures and the color has been turned black, (white was just too bright) There was a sky file in the first version.
The fog has been turned black to match the sky (less colors to video draw.)
Although there is a path for the sky it is set to use useSkyTextures = "0"; That means NO SKY
The visible sight has been reduced from 1000 to 750.

Here's my theory. In IT, we commonly use remote control agents and there is always an issue with speed a console redraw. There is an enormous difference when using a textured or graphic for the background. Changing the background to a solid black or white increased the performace drastically.
We'll see what happens.

The new terrain file located in game/data/missions/us_canada2.ter.
Download the new file, or let the server load it. It is a new name so there wouldn't be any wrong error messages. You either have it, (by predownloading the new link)
Or you don't. Let it load.

OH LA LA!! Very nice! Big thanks! T'will be interesting to see how the map fairs with the changes. Thanks to dash as well for hosting.

As far as the match goes, lag or no lag, it should be a blast! The more the merrier I say.If it escalates into a 20 Tank game, we can always have an ultra-competitve match with 8 or less at some later date. Besides, jangles needs to bust loose and TRASH is holding him down! LET'S ROCK!!
