@BC: There is one script you need to host. That is Sluggy's Out of Bounds Averaging script. The teamskins script may be another.

I suggest that any scripts (and Mods) used for PSL should be posted predominantly so that the same version is available to everyone who wants to host.

@LilAlien: I agree about the stats. This is a team effort so indie stats are not particularly meaningful.

@Dash: I'd love to see some of your maps incorporated. I'm happy to assist with hosting them for testing or anything else -- just let me know. I would need some brief instructions on how to throw up one of your maps in The Baarnyard.

I'd be up for the Team Skins script to be used so we can enjoy a real League feel to this season. This was tested at the end of last season and it works and is quite cool. If we decide on this though then everyone (not just the hosters) must download the skins and install them to be able to enter servers. It's quite possible this may be too much to ask...

The scripts are on the server end... With -z-, so we would have to wait till he gets back. As for downloading, we were using them for the CTF League, and it was up to captains to distribute the appropriate skin set every week, and yeah, it worked out fine but mostly it came down to me putting up links to download each set for each game. But yeah, it worked fine for CTF.

The only problem would be waiting for -z- to come back to get the script to put in the server.

Lone: Take it up with the other captains. I don't know how I and everyone else missed that.
ps. We need decent quality overheads asap. Can anyone get them?

LilAlien: Yeah you're right it's just the skins each player has to download. My memory is fading... But I'm glad it worked out well for CTF league.

I have the script from -z-, and I suppose it would be OK with him if I emailed it to hosters, but I'm not sure if that would be cool. Any thoughts?

Tally: The only way I can think of to get overheads is with the camera switcher script that someone made. I have it and I tried it once and it worked. But at that time you couldn't use it online. It only worked in solo or quickplay mode. Not sure if anyone will be able to get you those shots. I hope the inability to get an overhead shot is not the fatal blow to using a mod.

@Tally..All Dementus is up for the league and could be added as a reserve. It appears the Bandits will start with 6 players with the addition of OddBall from the draft. We don't have more players than the new teams in League to start. That should be fair.

I also have the Team skin server additions and can host. I have some reservations in passing new skins for the opponent every week. I could live with Blue and Green. To get fancy, your team would never have to be adjusted. They would have to stay one color for the whole season. We have Bandit skins from last season. The new 4 teams need some skins. I could live with just the blue and green defaults.

Let's shoot for next Wednesday to start. Need some bracketing to know who we are playing and the captains need the new league password to pass on. Also, what color each team will be...

Do you need overheads of the maps Ho? What about the ones in the maps section ? If you click on the links below each map you get overhead shots. Ah maybe you mean mod overheads. NM.

I say good sir, add him if you must. But I find it prudent to tell you, nothing can save your precious "Wolfpack" now. The Society has just returned from our annual foxhunt. While the quick-witted foxes managed to evade us, we did bring home several trophy wolves! What do you think chaps....mount the heads above the fireplace?

The only thing a wolf likes better then sheep to dine on is human upper class Society. They are just like farm raised deer or black angus beef, feed just the right amount of grains. So the meat is nice an lean and has a beautifully marble look to it. Oh just talking about it is making my mouth salivate ! Hmmmmmmmm The Wolf Pack can not wait to take a bite out of the Scrum Society ! B)

Well my only worry is about the timezone and stuff - Mine is CET, so I hope I won't be playing at four in the morning!

Just wanted to check in on the modded maps topic again... Are these mods that lots of folks have been playing on for a while? Doesn't deter me, but I just want to get a sense of what someone new to the maps could expect for competition when playing on them for the first time.

I had to look up CET. Center Europe Time. We play at 7pm PDT (or California Time/West Coast US). From what I read, you will not want to play at 4 am. Well guess what...

Urgent memo to everyone:
This season may be at risk.
Besides a) the disappearance of z, b) flakey flakes, and c) server and map issues, things don't look swell for the killer fleas. We may have to disband for the season as more than half of us have been stricken by the perils of real life.

Options:
a) Proceed with 7 teams.
b) scrap the season
c) As we probably should have from the beginning, alternate between full regular seasons and 3 on 3 tournaments (one alternate per team), which we could do now, playing on wednesdays, single elimination. This would keep things moving and buy the rest of us some time to get our business together.

Do reply, and let us know what [ if any ] strain the rest of you are under {captains and players}.

I am always under strain, but am able to shift my schedule to accomodate. I don't mind putting off the league, but I sure was looking forward to it...if we went to 3v3 how would we juggle current teams? Split each team in half? I like the 3v3 solution (couldn't have a league without the fleas)...just not sure how it will be implemented.

I am game either way. I also was looking forward to this season but what ever we need to do to keep the peace and make every thing fair. :[

We scrap the season because of z missing? I don't understand.
If you are missing a player, and no one else is available, I can jump over to the Fleas. I don't want to leave the sheep though, so please make that a last resort. Even though I'm a total ahole (heh), I'm a reliable a-hole!
 The server issue. What if we grab Homelan scrum league on Wednesdays. What I mean is, we can try to get 10 people in there: 2 observers. I don't mind being a watcher for another teams games, If I'm not in. The watchers can put "Watcher" as their names, to make things easier. Just a thought. I know it's always lush, but we can do with it.
If we are worried about the message board dropping, I have a MB on my website that is very good. I don't think that is the problem though.

Reopen the draft and fill in the remaining players... Putting it off is much better to me then scrapping it.

I'd also go for the 3-on-3 though... But would suck to have to go up against fellow locos :(

Re: Tournament concerns. Each Psycho team, for the sake of a tournament, would divide in half, with each going to opposite ends of a two-sided table. Thus, you wouldn't have to face teammates until the last possible moment (the final). Teams would come in as Locos A and Locos B, etc.

We could go with 7 teams as some suggested. Have the short team distribute the players who can still play among the current teams. The Bandits would like the best bandit of the bunch to join us... : )

How many real vacancies do we have?
ie What teams need how many players?

I'd prefer to fix what we have rather than pack it all in or get too happy with the carving knife.
Dementus to the pack - fine.

We could try to keep it as a 4 on 4 league , but drop to 3 on 3 as needed to keep teams equal.
Hopefully this could be prearranged by captains so players can know ahead of time if they are playinmg , reserve or out.

How many reliable servers are there..are there needed?
If too short we could have bye weeks to lighten the load.

Let's fix it!!

Perhaps we could dispense with some of the extra's such as team skins, added scripts, new maps - as these may add to confusion, delays in getting all on the same page, potential snafu's (players who did not add teams skins to their game who have to wait till eternity to join, then end up leaving in frustration).
While some of these would be true enhancements (some might not, but thats another discussion)they are not core to the game or the notion of Psycho Scrum which is flat out , no holes barred, running and gunning scrum!

perhaps some last minute recruitment of vets and past PS alumni or other non flakes.
Even folks who may usually only get on at late night (or whenever) may shy away from commitment (egads the "c" word).
Realistically a player who plays every other week is making only an hour commitment of time very other week.
They just need to be reliable!

Actually it is a very generous offer that we may need to take. There are three of us on the team that have major life scheduling problems and another who is flaky, but I won't mention Tally's name. Oops...

Tally we can do it! We are really quite close and most of the groundwork has been laid down (thanks to you buddy). Let's try to fix the rosters; some initial flakiness is to be expected.

I agree with Baba that its better to pare back on the "extras" like team skins, mods etc. Until we are on more solid ground.

I don't think -z-'s disappearance is a showstopper, as we have plenty of other PSL7ers who are capable of hosting (me, prey, azazel, sluggy, dash, leopard, blind cide and maybe others).

Hello everyone! Just checking in after returning from a road trip during Labor Day weekend. Looks like I got back just in the nick of time since I see my name is up there as "pending" on the Wolf Pack. I've been told the game is 7:00pm Pacific, which should be 10pm Eastern, so I'm good to go! Looking forward to getting any necessary graphics, news, and some practice in!

We feel strongly that the teams should stay the same.
We agree with LilAlienD that we should find more players.
Dementus to the wolf pack, great.
We want the league to continue.
We dont like the tournament idea.
We like 4 on 4 best, 3 on 3 only if we have to.

I need to know if Dementus is coming to my team or not. No one seems to have a problem with it. I know there is a lot going on but my whole team has last years team skins all ready and the files on it loaded. Fat Lips is all ready working on making our team skin. I guess I just need to know your verdict on this season ?

A. So I can send Dementus every thing he /she needs for this season or not send if we are stopping leagues.
b. So I can tell Fat Lips wheather to continue on our team skin or to stop, so he doesn't waste his time.

Corest has 8, Bandits have 7, and Locos have 7. Between them there's 4 extra players. I think we're good here Tally.

As for servers and scripts, I say we keep it barebones. Last season you stated that the diver script should be used... Which it was, but only for the first couple weeks. The rest of the season was great though. I'm against using new maps though.

As for 3 on 3 or 4 on 4. I would actually favor seeing a combination of both. Maybe a month of 3on3's and the rest 4on4. I played a couple 2on2 and 3on3 games yesterday and must say they were GREAT. It takes alot more team-work with a smaller group then the "Kill-em-all" aspect that comes with 8-10 Quality Players stepping on the same field.

I would also love to see J, Stinky, and AlienSexist come into play. J and AS were involved in those small games I played yesterday, and I kicked as with both of them.

Just as an FYI - z's absence is not the only problem facing the Fleas. 2 members have had shift changes that conflict and another has a late running class on that night.

Okay, I posted on the Elite Scrummers forum. They are trying to put together an "army" of Elite Scrummers. What if they joined as a team, or joined with The Fleas? TNP is part of their group already. The reason I suggest that they join as a team is that they appear to be forming a group, and would seemingly like to pit themselves against the best players. They consider themselves to be the best, and they do have a good group. Here is a list of their players, including a few who are here. If the others are here under different names, then I apologize for the confusion:
