Instead of all this talk of new power ups. Why not just make new tanks. They should be like a normal light, heavy. Or medium. Though have a cool recharge attack. This would be unfair, so why not decrease the initial power of the primary weapon and even it out. How does that sound for a bright idea! XD
If not heard of yet.

As far as tank stats go, it's perfect the way it is, as for the tank idea, it's already been discussed long ago ;)

There was a new tank, the skull tank. We saw those pictures a long time ago.

I would like to be able to host and have say up to 5 teams of 3 or 4 per team. To do such things as Battle Royals. B)

I really like the skull idea that 56-k Lag Man has made. It really puts in the picture for a "tank". Oh and yeah OverKill, your idea is good too! %)

We could give the tanks options on their secondary attack and widen the game that way.

Also I like your idea of many teams wolf, it sounds brilliant ;).

Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 10:57:18 PM

I'm making up an option chart of data for all the tanks I'm listening for sugestions. :o

Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 10:58:36 PM

First idea:
Lasers! :) Everyone likes lasers.

My laser idea is that each tank will have a lazer gun that will do damage if fired at an apponent. More damaged for the longer it is kept on the other tank. The laser would have a battery so there is a limit to the use of the laser and it can recharge. A fully drained battery takes 3 minutes to reload, so don't use it all at once or face the consiquences. Lasers if being fully used will run for 10 seconds. Snipers will like this one; the laser will do more and more damage as the target is further and further away. Objects will of cousrse disrupt the lazer and stop it. The light tank will have the nozzle in the middle of it's tri-barrel gun. The medium tank will have the cannon right beside the brain since the jar always leans slightly to the right. The heavy tank will have the gun come out of the little matinece flap on its front. A button on the keyboard should be able to toggle the cross-hairs for the secondary on and off.

Tell me what you think XD

Monday, November 01, 2004 at 3:40:36 PM

Hmmm... I think a flamethrower power up will be good. It has a limited range yet it is very very powerful.

Monday, November 01, 2004 at 7:37:43 PM

Hey go to www.garagegames.com it is in the forums to get the flame thrower

Monday, November 01, 2004 at 9:08:18 PM

How about a way to launch the scrum to a teammate?

Tuesday, November 02, 2004 at 5:58:46 PM

I'd like to see CTF built into game. Damn lag.

Tuesday, November 02, 2004 at 11:52:11 PM

Right-clicking would launch a slow powerful attack. That's my idea.

Thursday, November 04, 2004 at 1:29:19 AM

I made some data but it'll take me some time to compile it :[
so sit tight!

Thursday, November 04, 2004 at 9:31:22 PM

That was fast so here you are world! Top notch info! Tell me what you think.

There are a few changes I would like to suggest to PTT and Brave Tree

1. We must add new terrain features Think Tanks, such as:
-Ramps
-Bulge like hills
-Tunnels
-Creatures

2. We must have new features for our tanks:
Most PowerfulNot As PowerfulLeast Powerful
Laser tankslightmediumheavy
Flame tanksMedium & heavyMedium & heavylight
Missile tanksHeavy & UFOmediumlight
Lightning tankUFO(None)(None)

Definitions of the special weapons:

The laser tank will have battery so it is limited to how long it can be used. The battery will re-charge completely in 3 minutes. The laser flies in a straight line. The laser could be any colour, it depends on the TT2 designer. I recommend blue. The battery bar should be the same colour as the laser.

The flame tank like the laser tank will have a re-charge battery or fuel tank. The fuel tank should be red or orange colour. The fuel if completely drained will refill in 2.5 minutes. The flames should go the distance of 3 heavy tanks and have splash damage. I gave the heavy tank and medium tank priority together because if equipped with a flame-thrower will become less timid and scared of close combat.

Missiles are one of the difficult matters since:
The light tank has 2= one shot
The medium tank has 4= two shots
The heavy tank has 8= four shots
The UFO has 12= six shots
Each missile does 30% damage each. They could orbit around each other in flight or fly parallel to each other. Missiles will move at the same max speed of their parent tank. Missiles will be able to be destroyed by any force or object in its path making them easy to dodge since they fly in a straight line towards the target. Missiles will also seek the targeted tank by putting the “red spot” on it and so locking on. Opponent will have no notification of being locked on to.

The UFO’s lightning tank will be like a cross between a laser and a flame-thrower. The gun shoots a wave of electricity at all tanks in a 2 heavy tank length radius in front of the UFO. The lightning is magnetic so it’s a seeker. Like the laser it has a battery that needs to be recharged in order to re-fire. Re-charging takes 4 minutes.

Placement of special guns on tanks:

For lasers: the gun will be in the centre of the tri-barrel gun for the light tank, to the left of the brain jar on the medium tank, and poking out of the maitinence flap on the heavy tank.
For flame-throwers: the gun will be in the centre of the tri-barrel gun for the light tank, to the left of the brain jar on the medium tank, and poking out of the maitinence flap on the heavy tank.
For missiles: they will sit in racks on the sides of the turret.

3. More vehicles should be in operation like 189's anti-tank jeep or skimmer.

Thursday, November 04, 2004 at 9:43:15 PM

I love the flame-thrower. Been wanting to see that for a while. The idea of creatures is also pretty funny.

Halleluja on the scrum tosser. GO LONG!!!!

Here's my new one.... Objects get blown away. Rocks explode, doing damage, if shot enough. Trees catch fire and do splash to nearby units if shot with fire-ish weapons, that sort of thing. Could add to both the strategy and the mayhem of the game

:)

Objects would, of course, need to respawn after a bit....

Good idea. Especially in forest mods.

Thursday, November 04, 2004 at 10:04:08 PM

How abput design your own tank color, shape, size, traction, speed, weight, width, height, how many shots per second the more shots the less acurate !!!!!no one cares about my ideas though so................ :[

That's a good idea. It reminds me of one of my favorite 90's arcade games: Space Lords. At the beginning, you adjust the stats of your ship: armor, weapons, speed, etc... That would be cool in thinktanks.

Sunday, November 07, 2004 at 6:46:14 PM

My only request for TT2 would be.... MORE SOUND CONTROL!!! I would like to be able to turn TTs sound down to a very very low level to just hear things, but still play my music and hear that over top. I currently have all my volume setting at their lowest, but to turn it down my system volume down so that TTs isn't heard 2 floors up in the house, my music is still ridiculously quite, quieter then TTs at its lowest volume level even.

There's also no option to just turn it off in TTs... For those of us that occasionaly play at work :) :)

Tuesday, November 09, 2004 at 11:22:23 AM

Oh, yeah. The volume has got to be fixed. In fact, let's see that fixed in TT, not just for TT2. We need volume control!

Another idea that has been bugging me is how there is still no microphone system where you can vocalize your thoughts so you can keep playing without being slaughtered while typing.
Sure this will affect the amount of spam and slow down the game but who cares. 8o
Isn't multiplayer suposed to be about interaction. %)
Wake up people! X/

Being able to buy avatar for your tank and better parts and such to increase your stats and being able to have you and a freind playing solo(not solo anymore) together I would really like that :P

Monday, March 21, 2005 at 4:10:13 PM

There should be a two player tank where two people can be in one tank. The driver might have a weak gun while the gunner would have a large cannon.

Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at 1:18:16 PM

1. BETTER MUSIC !
2. Boss tank unlocker
3. Harder boss
4. More tank selections
5. Powerups different shape
6. More detail when tank dies
7. When in indy scrum, you could choose a partner and both of your tanks would combine to make an ultra powerful tank. One player would drive the other shoot.
8. Homing weapons
9. Prefs file for Modwizard
10. Powerups that increase you shooing range. (i.e. You shoot in 3 different directions at once)
11. Better, cooler maps.
12. More weapons
13. Instant teleporter powerups that take you directly to either the goal or the scrum ball.
14. If possible, way to decrease lag for 56 k modems XD

Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at 6:06:30 PM

I got an idea MUSIC ROCKS NO CHANGE!
More tanks selction I can agre with
powerups diff shape they shoudl look like the power up they are? Naa I like it random!
homeing weapons? NO unless you can doge eminstant teleys to goal?
no unless it on and its REALLY hard to get to!
kooler maps? YES
Eagle

Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at 6:18:34 PM

Was that in english? Well anyway. I think it would be cool to be able to put your music of choice onto it and have the original tanks to start with then being able to unlock newer better tanks, I still like my avatar idea and if you could see your stats like how many times you have died how many times youve killed a heavy,light,medium...and so on and also having a level like you are a lv 12 player or a rank like lv1 would be noobie and so on but diffrent ranks for diffrent things like if you play scrum alot you get a scrum related rank and same with bm :P :P :P

Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 1:24:14 PM

You CAN choose your music of choice onto think tanks if you didnt already know.

Here's my idea....

Homing weapons sound nice, so I will start with them. The tanks have missle launchers or railguns (whichever) which can shoot and home in on the enemy. This could be done by right-clicking on the target, which will lock in on the position. Also, by right-clicking quickly, the user can switch b/t the default weapon and power-up if he/she hasn't already used it up!

That's just my 2 cents......

Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 8:40:45 AM

Has anyone played HALO 2. Have you used the Rocket Launcher locking function.

If you have not, when playing halo 2 the rectile uf kept on a target for 3seconds will turn red and have triangles around it.
With one pull of the *Fire* button, the triangles spin around and a second circle will follow the target.
With second pull of the *Fire* button, you fire the locked on rocket and it flys right at the target in a spiral.
____________________
Using quick moves will allow you to escape the rocket and getting behind obstacles will save you automatically.
A sign will indicate that the rocket launcher has locked on to you and a second will tell you it has been fired.
The rocket does not have to be locked to fire and the rocket can be used as a proximity device.

Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 11:05:06 AM

Missiles are one of the difficult matters since:
The light tank has 2= one shot
The medium tank has 4= two shots
The heavy tank has 8= four shots
The UFO has 12= six shots
Each missile does 30% damage each. They could orbit around each other in flight or fly parallel to each other. Missiles will move at the same max speed of their parent tank. Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why not make rocks and trees destructable.
You could also shoot holes in big hills to make tunnels. XD

And if you destroy a part of the building it will topple over and destroy any tanks or buildings its toppling over and cause a chain reaction DOMNIOES!!! :P :P :P

Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 11:26:05 AM

Then the map would be a wasteland and the players could shoot holes through the buildings to create tunnels.

Oh, and make real explosion effects when you hit the buildings.

BOOM 8o

Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 12:40:58 PM

We should create a CD for Think Tanks so the thing runs faster and there isn't so much laaaaaaag.

Plus urban debri should be added to the maps. Make barrels of oil so that when pumped with a shell, they explode.
Maybe have tank traps and "warthogs" like those seen on OMAHA beach.

Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 12:44:22 PM

Let me remind you people that these ideas and concepts are acting like a petition and the more, different people add to this thread, the better it is for the whole.

Monday, March 28, 2005 at 8:52:01 AM

I think there should be traps wehre you can trigger by attaacking this or that! Like a sercert lever lets rocks start to fall or this explodes this making a landslide!

OOOOOOOH

How 'bout real landmines. I mean, you could easily make them with with the bouncy shot bu make real mines that can't be seen until you get hit by one and then it tels you who dropped it there.

You can customize your own tank anyway you want, e.g add more wheels or less, bigger but still fast, you edit it ANY way you want

Saturday, April 09, 2005 at 1:55:27 PM

Ya that is a good idea. I also think there should be a new game like halo. Where you can attack fortresses like a castle in the game or something where you can go into the drawbridge and go up rams fire off catipuls and stuff.
Eagle

Monday, April 11, 2005 at 4:32:22 AM

I think the person holding the scrum should be not able to shoot, if they click they throw the scrum so they pass it.

Monday, April 11, 2005 at 5:28:35 AM

Yeah like in CTF in Halo. Cool! :)

Another idea is how there could be a MEGA-Server where lots of tanks battle in a very large and diverse enviroment.

I also like the customization idea.

There should be a credit system also so you can get more things for your tank.
Imagine, if there was a heavy tank with the speed of a light tank with lots of wheels and a larger battery for charge attacks.
*Cough* Great examples in the game ROBOT RAGE. *Cough* B)

Spikes on your tank wheels to tear some treads or spikes on your bumper to give some glancing blows a saw blade launcher capable of cutting your turret off or tank in half. Wildlife as obstacles tankeating trees perhaps a humane score a berserk score traitor score and other stats.
