AWOL Players: Dr Evil, (sxy) Kimmy

Map schedule as shown. Games are all on Thursday nights at 7pm PST (10pm EST) with the possibility of staggering Server 1 and Server 2 instead of running both at the same time in an effort to help reduce lag.

Lag is going to be an issue by the looks of it I'm afraid, but it will be the same for everyone. I will be endeavouring to minimise it as much as possible.

Rules:

Each match consists of two games and each team plays one round as green and the other as blue. For both of these games, the scoring is as follows:
0 points for a loss
1 point for a draw
2 points for a win.
1 Bonus point for a double win.

If a team wins both games, then they would score 2 points for each game, and a bonus point for a full victory given a total of 5 points.
If a team wins one and loses the other, then they score 2 points for the first, and none for the second giving a total of 2 points, and so on.

Goal difference is calculated as a total of both games. If a team wins by 12 - 9 in game one, and loses 9 - 10 in game two, thats a total of (12 + 9) to (9 + 10) or 21 to 19, giving a total goal difference of 2pts to the winners. The losers get a score of 0 for the goal difference. Goal difference is mostly just for an indicator on how strong a team is, but will be used in the case of tied rank positions.

No substitutes are allowed in the game. If you team is short of players, then they need to be formally added to your team with consultation of the other teams and myself (here on the forums)

Each team must field 4 players for a game. If the captain is not playing, there must be a substitute team-captain nominated for the game.

Games will be of the standard duration of 15 minutes for each of the two rounds. Players must leave and switch teams after the first game.

Screenshots of the final scores, or links to the 'recent results' of your game must be posted to the forum after the game.

Games will all be passworded, and each of the three zones (lush, spooky, and frantic) will have a different password which will be issued to the captains in advance for distribution amongst team members.

No restarts. Once a game has begun must be played to conclusion and shall not be halted for lag, discussion or any other minor complications.

Where possible, I will remotely monitor the game start to help with restarting the server etc instead of waiting for the clock to run down.

LilAlien's proposal is worth a try and I'm willing to try it too, but expect lots of lag.

However, I've noticed that those 1 to 5 second network breaks are good for setting up your next move,
taking a sip of beer, or whatever...

To try and get the lag down, I think it's up to alot more then just the captains. I'll post later to tell EVERYONE out there in PTT to try and not use the forums between these times. If it were just up to use in the league.... We'd be playing anyway and not have to worry about it :P

Ok all I was just there it is so bad there is no way Ravage will play with it like that ! So if PTT is not down or you don't see a locked server we will not play sorry but we will wait for the return of Z :[

OK...I'm going to wait until -z- returns before trying to pick up the season. I'm not quitting, its just an effort to come into work to play (no home connection) and when there's no game its rather disappointing. :(

Whats your team's thought on morphing into a Team Scrum League for the last 4 games? Its either that, or absolve the league, or wait and wait and wait.

Out of curiousity, what is the minimum machine power / connection speed needed to host two decent games?

Well... I for one am already in the Psycho Scrum League, so I don't mind waiting till -z- comes back to pick up CTF again. Dedicating 2 nights to play TS games might be a bit much I'll play if the team does though.

Screw scrum. This league is about BLOOD.

We have no choice but to wait until -z- returns. We could just end the season but either way we wait.

BTW dash and I have asked -z- about letting others host CTF. The answer is NO. -z- is involved in a NDA (non-disclosure aggreement) with bravetree. CTF accesses portions of the game that are NOT for public view. The other modders can make some sort of scrum MOD but it wont be CTF. Modders come up with some sort of scrum mod with 2 stationery goals. You wont be able to tweak the size of the goal but maybe it would be entertainment of some sorts.
