Due to the favorable response to the Lights vs Heavy match, we should put together an elite heavy team (with strategy and tactics) and school these lights on how impressive the heavy tank can really be. ;)

So, let's start organizing and planning. Hopefully, lep, supra and LC will help me with the organization to make sure we have a really even playing field and balanced opportunities to test our skills while having loads and loads of fun.

So what sort of parameters, qualifications and game times do we want to set up? Do the heavies want to work together (coordinated play) and take on all challenge teams or keep it open and ad hoc like the last series?

If you're a regular heavy tanker, join the team!

Team Roster: InfiniteMonkey, LC50, GoForIt, Brent, Dark, Rabban, Muscles.
Reserves: Chaos-city, kus, -=*Møn¢k¥*=-, TT

I'm hoping for Chanman, Quitter, Killer77, and Da Bull, but I haven't heard from them.

Want to make it really interesting? Why not toss a team of medium tanks into the mix? They'd get crushed but would be funny. If the medium team could beat a team of lights or heavy tanks it would be like Boston finally winning the World Series.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

I had thought about that, but are there any "elite" medium tankers...and enough to make up a team? :o

---

Last night I discovered that Hippy Hater now drives only the medium. Perhaps he'd like to organize the MEDS. :)

Count me in for TEAM HEAVY.

Last Sunday was a lot of fun and I think we could use a little practice to develop strategy and tactics for the team.

Adios.

I might join for team heavy, because in BM I do pretty good with it

How about Hugh Jass. I ran in to him a few times and he was good, unless that's an alias.

Sunday, September 26, 2004 at 1:19:23 PM

Can I be on Team Heavy? :)

Rabban can vouch for my skill

Well, Dark was good (too good) for a nube. I definely think it's an alias especially since when I joined the game he's all "Hey Rabban" and such (get some, perhaps). Which did get me to thinking. The "Team Heavy" concept could be a good way to encourage new players to use the heavy and expand it's fan base. I realize my initial goal was to have a "best of the best" competition between heavies and lights. I'm satisfied that we accomplished that with the first game. So, if there are no objections, I would like to try to incorporate some lesser known, good heavies on the team if the vets don't mind. And IM is right, since there are so few heavy players, it could be difficult from time to time to field a team of 5 on a regular basis.

I'm willing to give it a shot if the rest are. Perhaps we could have some all heavy practice games to help us all develop our skills, tactics and strategies while weeding out any posers in the process.

I said Hey Rabban just because I was being friendly :P

Monday, September 27, 2004 at 11:55:32 PM

Yes I am not dark....besides I SUCK in a heavy... :(

Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 3:23:11 AM

Well, in any case looks like you'll be playing with us, Muscles too.

I've started noticing more heavies on the field lately. I hope they're inspired to join us too.

We need to start thinking about a practice date.

Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 10:32:06 AM

Thanks IM, can't wait to have a go at it. I love the heavy. I can't wait until they update TT so the heavies bump around the lights...as it should be!! Should we watch e-mail or the forum for the first practice date?

Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 3:07:58 PM

Muscles, check your yahoo e-mail. You're a Zombie in the league.

Thanks.

I'll delete this in the morn Rabban.

Could someone give me a BM lesson? :)

Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at 3:05:53 AM

1) Choose a nice quite time. No need to pressure yourself.
2) Some people like to read during their BM, so take a magazine if you like.
3) Preloading fiber or prunes can be a big help.
4) Take deep breaths and continue to exhale as you push. No need to have a heartattack.
5) Enjoy that Play-doh feeling as the fruit of your labors is released.
6) Never forget the clean up.
7) Flush.

%)

Muscles, welcome to the frustration of driving a heavy. As LC50 has stated so many times, heavy tanks are made of styrofoam.

Looks like the lights want another match on Oct 17. We're still trying to decide on a time. Lep mentioned 10pm, but I hoping for an afternoon game between 2-4pm EST. Any thoughts?

Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at 10:46:20 AM

I think I could use some skill with my heavy tank.
Could I try out for the team?

Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at 8:54:54 PM

And I could use some training in a heavy too, especialy in BM!
I luv making stuff out of the ordinary I mean just think of the day when Heavy's are everywhere bumping light tanks around!
And if we get in Dark I think we should drop the HA idea because theres no use having two HEAVY armys ;)

Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at 9:08:48 PM

I talked to "KUS" tonight concerning our Heavy Team and he is very interested in joining. KUS is a very good Heavy player and is equal if not better than myself. He would be a great addition to our Heavy Team. He should be posting his information shortly.

Sunday, October 03, 2004 at 2:34:36 AM

How to join? I would love to, playing in a heavy is so fun!

Hey all.
Brent said you might be looking for another heavy for a league team and I am interested in joining. Thanks.

Ummmm I'd like to know how I can join this army.......can you give me some info?
And I might need some practice with a heavy too.

TT

If you have any more openings, I would like to play.

Wednesday, October 06, 2004 at 12:38:20 AM

Well, this is becoming a pretty free form team since I'm not hearing a lot of feedback from the regulars, so it may end up being a rallying point for heavy tankers. I'd like to field the top heavies whenever we meet the lights in a match, so I suppose you new guys are just going to have to prove yourselves or obtain a voucher in order to secure the opportunity to go against the lights in one of our matches.

I think the problem is however, is that it seems that dedicated heavy players tend towards the "lone wolf" mentality and only really come together when the hunt is on. Even when joining pickup games, heavies, while acknowledging the "brotherhood of the heavy", will still do their best to kill their brother as much as possible. I think there's a special, brain disorder that causes us to eat our own in the process of protecting the clan and producing only the stongest and meanest heavies.

So hopefully some seasoned tankers will recommend some of the newcomers and we'll be set.

Wednesday, October 06, 2004 at 10:41:08 AM

Thanks Rabban, Oct. 17th sounds good to me. I can make anytime work, but nights (EST) are always the best.

Thursday, October 07, 2004 at 6:10:50 PM

Heck! I even made a skin.........

Friday, October 08, 2004 at 7:34:16 PM

The server idea sounds great.

With respect to the Heavy Team, TT and KUS are good established heavy players and both do very well in team play. The lites are very experienced and we need to have the most experienced Heavies on the team. Maybe we need to have a practice game to help determine the main players.

I use the heavy tank in scrum but I need more practice in TBM.
Sooooooo I guess I'll go practice some battlemode now.
Heres how the tank looks

Me and my sister made it.

Sunday, October 10, 2004 at 5:54:51 PM

There's one thing for sure. To be a member of "Team Heavy", your PTT avatar must be set to the heavy tank. I'm not looking for one-game stands, but dedicated heavy players.

Over the weekend I set up a Heavy vs Light server under the name "Geidi Prime". I'll probably keep doing that just so we can have that scenario set up all the time. I'm starting to agree with InfiniteMonkey concerning the interest this concept is generating. I'm glad to see so many more heavies on the field, but that doesn't automatically qualify any particular player for a match slot. While some of the heavy players mentioned are good, they're also new so they haven't really created a persona yet. I'm not that keen on the cross-over players either. I don't doubt their playing skills in the heavy, but they're really lites at heart and I don't think we need their kind around here. ;)

Anyway, I like the idea of a team practice. Perhaps we can start popping into "Geidi Prime" for ad hoc HvL games. I'm curious about what the results of those games will show. Of course, I'll probably end up weeding myself out. :)

Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 12:01:10 PM

Oh, and I hope the TBM game last week on one of the frantic maps proved that I am not TT (since we were both playing at the same time). When someone brought up the idea that we were the same person, I asked if he sucked too. XD

Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 12:06:05 PM

GOOD LUCK TO THE TEAM IN THE NEXT BATTLE. I WILL BE BACK TO CHECK OUT HOW BADLY YOU BEAT THOSE LIGHT WEIGHTS, RABBAN.
HOPEFULLY I CAN CATCH UP WITH TEAM HEAVY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE.
ADIOS.

Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at 12:45:25 AM

Some of you heavies need to send me your e-mail address if it isn't listed in your member profile. Hard to coordinate without it.

Friday, October 15, 2004 at 12:02:48 PM

Well I'll atmit that before I saw all these heavys I was always playing as a lite tank,
but I thought it would be cool to see heavys pushing around light tanks and med. Tanks.
But right now its going the other way round and I think that needs to be changed.
You should see my scores in my heavy tank (they've really improved).
And also some people wanted to join T.H. So if you dont mind Rab I was wondering if I could give them your e-mail so they could contact you.

doc

I realize this thread seems to have run its course but I would love to participate on the heavy side of course.. :)

Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 3:45:28 AM

We had a real nice impromptu HEAVY vs. Light last night. Those sure do seem more common now.
It was Brent, MUSCLES©, Chanman, and a few others that switched over to heavy (Rust Bucket) for the fun of it.

I have played most with these heavies: Brent, TT, LC50, Infinite Monkey, Big Fat and Slow, Chanman, and Kus. I saw Rabban out there once as well. It would be cool to have a team heavy in TBML 4.0.

My e-mail is in my profile, so will keep my ears open. Lets stomp some lights already!!!! B) I can host a match if we ever organize something.

Yeah it was a good one and we missed ya, I sure do love those H vs. L matches.

@Killertank
Real heavies are loners, unless they meet together by chance (or this forum post) and agree to crush lights together.
See you on the battlefield. B)
