Evil twin:
"Unfortunately I cannot post in the skin library due to my new PTT account."
Yeah, sorry about that. Thats mostly just to stop non-TTers etc creating an account here to take advantage of the image hosting etc. Most of the time, people dont tend to get into skinning for quite a while after signing up here so it wouldnt normally be an issue. Still, you should be able to upload it soon enough as soon as the 'new member' status has worn off.
Rik:
contrast
detail
paint
- wear
- layers
- pattern
parts
Go from there.
Also, I'm opposed in principle to healing and "unrealistic" weaponry. Smoke and mines I could see. Great skin mm, I just now noticed the bullet holes. Team survivor?
time for breakfast.
Tally, how about this Team mode:
When you die, you have to wait until your team or the other team's players all die and the round ends and 1 point is given to the team who survived. Indidvidual points will also be scored. If you kill the last person on the other side you get extra indie points, and the indie scoring will be like in CTF. Sounds like a good idea eh? Any additions?

Last edited: Tuesday, August 03, 2004 at 10:21:48 PM
Thanks Revel, these are my first skins.
Im not the greatest at projectiles, so I am currently using spunky's area effect explosion as the projectile.
I just posted it in the library, credit to spunky- I just changed the hue and the file name.
thanks for the inspiration spunky, thats a great image!

Heh need one that looks like a cloud of mustard gas or something... Oh and great.. They are in the skins library. I've gotta try them out shortly. Will be great to have two full sets to use in combination with the TeamSkins mod

Credit is due to Rabban and Tally Ho for their 'flying tiger' and 'sopwith camel' skins [respectively].
These two skins inspired the invasion stripe pattern [used for recognition on allied vehicles after dday] on the sherman light.
Mad props guys, great skins.
Again, these are my first skins, so I need feedback.
Rabban- that ufo skin is perfect, maybe post it for use in the skin library.
-z- thats a great idea, two skin sets... I was thinking germans [in heavies] vs allies [lights & mediums], but two sets would be better. Im leaving tonight to go to the desert, but when I get back I shall fill out the two skin sets.
on deck [should be done before week is up]:
ALLIES
french light
sherman medium
t34 heavy
AXIS
panzer light
panzer II medium
tiger heavy
©reamer-great ideas regarding scoring...i like the 'die once, stay dead' rule...would make for interesting gameplay
Z, how difficult would it be to implement team-elimination death match goodness?
Ho the tanky physics related to damage, bullet potentcy, driving, etc are easily changed. The rest of the stuff will probably require someone who has all the source code to do. Some may even be too difficult to do without a rebuild.
*cough* -z-, laggy, sluggy, *cough*
B
I plugged in ET's stuff tonight, but my ho-brainishness has hosed my CS suite and my serial's are similarly disfunctional, hence cannot for the moment reinstall (help). Otherwise, I think the ae is coming along, but there is more work to do. I would like to see more of a gradation withn the explosion itself, perhaps some brights at the bottom with more transparency and some darks at the top, more opaque, fire-ishness at the bottom and smoke-ishness at the top. It's a huge improvement already over the previous.
also , the projectile itself isn't quite right. Looks a bit too much like the back of a missile. This is what im running for the projectile regular flavor
. Some may thing it's bland, but it looks right to me, though, because of this lack of detail, it may work better as the speedy shot.
tired > rambling.
btw, et sent me this for those that havent gotten over to the skins lib yet.
I like what's happening with the tread, but maybe we can space the treads out a bit. When you get moving, because they're so small, one gets that nothing-is-moving look.
Tally: Relatively easily. I already toyed with the idea of a Couterstrike type of TBM game before releasing Survivor. You do have similar gameplay problems though with people cliff hanging to stay out of the way etc, but the script part can be done.
-Z-
I think, if have an organized thing, mb it will be ok?
Tally do u have a web site with ur skins in it?
I'm liking where this thread is headed...
No...
Updates are impossible at the moment as my craptacularness has fooked up my CS suite.
mon dieu.
Now in the library:
Tell me if you like em, tell me if you hate em.
they are my first.

The heavy looks hot dog. Can we get two more good shots of the light and medium? [ 2nd from the bottom is hosed for me, all stretched ]
As soon as I can, I'm going to start working on terrains. any
day now.
Looking great!!
Liking the Medium and light. Nice Job!
Ya..i need help with the light.
problem is, it doesn't look anything like a sherman [the 3d model I mean]
any suggestions?
[the germans & french both used light tanks....but I would prefer a sherman]
also- need help skinning area effect explosion, bounceback projectile, and area effect projectile.
trying to get the area effect to be bright orange [flames] at the base while having a grey/black top [smoke]
I am at a dead end regarding the projectiles...something realistic is needed...shells? Mines? Grenades? HALP!
try out the skins I posted under 'wwII' in the library...gimme feedback, especially the projectiles.
also I posted some plain ol' reticles for use [ not necissarily wwII, but what I use]
eep im rambling.
So ho doesnt nag me...
thanks for the feedback [are those loading for everyone?]^

Et, im not sure your light is an upgrade from what you were workng off of. It looks rather smudged.
don't sweat making things more graphic.
I need cs.
the ae explosions looks really improved, I dig it.
!!!
russian training photos
american light tank [revised]

I dont like it as much I dont feel that the red really works with it
Which red part, Revel?
disregard the blue brain, by the way.
what about brains? We probably should not have cartoon brains for this particular MOD.....what to do?
maybe tank hatches that get blown off when a kill occurs?
ideas?
The red squares where those pieces of tread were on the front
That's coo Rev...do you have any suggestions? White boxes are too much...maybe a dark olive color? Should I put the pieces of tread back? Or maybe just keep it blank...hrrrrmmmmmm
I liked the tread I think it looked cool and worked really well with the tank
better?...what about the stripes?
Light is done & up in the library [looks like that ^ with more mud].
any other suggestions, just holla.

Ishbuu, I am sure that any help would be appreciated, as we know nothing of scripting type stuff. Hopefully we can get this near completeion before we all lose interest [ damn ADD]
