es¡f¥(RATM/SA)

You mean nokta is a bad modder

You say that because you didn't see his mods

If you see it you will put in the the first

Don't say something you don't know it

Friday, June 23, 2006 at 5:39:05 AM

He's not saying that nokta is a bad modder. Nokta's mods are good. But if you saw something like rollerball...

Friday, June 23, 2006 at 7:34:04 AM

^I agree with everything :P

Good ol' days...

Friday, June 23, 2006 at 10:43:28 AM

Oh my god ^^ lives !
Yes Repent, Art Crazy, Monkey Man & 187 just to mention a few.
I will say with Dazzle's new addition he now makes the Top 5 in my book !

@ Repent
Does this mean a return of the Great Modder of BM maps ? B)

Friday, June 23, 2006 at 12:44:33 PM

I'm not saying Nokta's bad at it or anything, but it's like Rolling Stone putting Jack White up as the #17 guitarist of all time. If modding is basic playing ability, then scripting is effects mastery, and that factors in about the same when ranking a person (Tom Morello at #26). Yeah, I bet Nokta's mods are decent (not RollerBall quality, though...), but I haven't seen him make any new gametypes (CTF = Tom's kill switch?). Besides, you're his brother, if not him, so there's some bias (RS <3s Jack).

Friday, June 23, 2006 at 2:16:53 PM

What ever happened to CS? :o
My list is...
1.Daz

2.Roo

3.CS

4.OUCH THAT HURTS

5.T-Bone
XD

Friday, June 23, 2006 at 3:45:36 PM

My top five list:

1.Rooster
2.Dazzle
3.Napalm (I notice he wasn't in the other lists :( )
4.T-Bone
5.Wiz-triv (close between Wiz-triv, MM, Dash, and a few others)

Now, my choices are based upon both the new mods coming out every day, but also the time-worn mods which some seem to have forgotten :( (although I haven't been around long enough to see the oldest mods)

Friday, June 23, 2006 at 9:17:03 PM

Mine is

1.daz
2.roo
3.T-Bone
4.nokta
5.Cassie

my blaster will destroy u!

Thanks for your comment Repent- when you gonna check it out then?!, but I have to make things clear.

Yes thanks goes to Dr Sawbones for making the game fantastic skins (tanks, goals, gates - and a few others) their aint no one better at skins than the Doc. RollerBall was created entirely by myself who did ALL the modding and by Canned Splam who wrote ALL the script. I dont want to split hairs but I think that even if you create a new category called "community mod" RollerBall should not go in it. To me that catogory would be full of mods that have been made by many people all adding their moding ideas to the same map, not ones that have been made by a small team of people who created different aspects of a mod suited to their appropirate skill and then these aspects combined by one person - to me thats a partnership or team arrangement, which is how we approached the making of RollerBall.

Anyways when we gonna see DodgeBall again? Was good to be in the MM_City this morning XD

@ Wild Tiger

I am not a fan of who is best lists. The reason you have Nokta as number 1 is that he is your brother B)

You cannot really compare people who make mods for this game as everyone has their own unique style and way of approaching the creation of a map, and every modders maps play entirely different. Some modders just make terrain, some make weps, some script, some skin, some make objects, some takes risks, some test weeks before release, some have 24/7 servers, some host a map once and then it dissapears.

All modders are different. For example Roo makes completly different scrum maps from Napalm, Repent makes completely different Battlemode maps from Ouch, T-Bone makes completely different race mods from Person, so who's are best - who cares they all rock - why does someone always have to be best? Why cant you just enjoy what we modders make (it takles hours you know) instead of judgeing who is best, I cant speak for others but I dont really care who is best - I just like making maps and stuff B)

There are many people who have not been mentioned on any of the above lists only LONEWOLF mentioned Repent (obviously most have never seen the Tower- what a map!!), what about Sluggy (his maps are unbelievably well thought out), thenm there is Dash, CrapBlaster, Wiz/Triv, Pharmy, and only one vote for Napalm - come on!!!

You might as well ask who is the best person in the world.

If we are talking about costom Mods...AKA Repents, Dazzles....
Dazzle-
His Mods have always left me speechless for words. He is GOD of modding for 2006.

Repent- Repent is god, I dont have a doubt about that.
With his comming back, im sure he will ROCK modding again just like Dazzle has.

T-Bone- He has done something that most dont but some are begining to do. His racing Mods are fun as well as a challenge on your driving skills. He most defently desreves number 3!

187- Most of you dont remeber but for the phew that were here at that time, 187 Tank Rescue? I think it was called. With that new Admin tank as we call it now was a big hit. Even though she has been AWOL they were a great begining of many Mods today.

Blimp/ Blackfoot (I dont remeber who made it)
you remeber that crazy speedy scrum with the UFO's...most of you wouldent...
That was a great great fun. Repents and his was crazy stuff and I wish he would return so we could play on it again.
5 mabey low...but he is absent, but not forgoten

Now if we are taking about works. And are playable AKA Maps that alot of us play on for TS, TBM, Scrum. Here are the top 5.

Rooster- This bird is on FIRE. Rooster has terrific work. His scrum maps are NUMBER 1. I dont question this, he has over 100 maps as far as I know. And this ROOSTER IS STILL WORKING! Many congrats, and we all do appriate your work.

Naplam- BOOM, naplam is a true map artist. Naplam makes eye candy with his maps. They are pretty, playable and he defently desreves number 2. IMO, even Number 1 its quite close...

CB/Dash There maps are work of art. Costom paints, and his layouts for TBM and scrum are magnificent-CB. Dash has great TBM maps, and are all stock but have a great layout. There originality are great. CB and Dash are number 3 becuase unless this was the Top 6, it be different :)

GQ- Most have not seen the UFHome Base, but it is a work of art. Her Stock extra maps are great indie scrum without over doing it. And her mapping work is improving everytime I see her maps. Also nobody has seen one map she had made...and let me say...its "OMSIH"....for some of you who know what that meens :)

ScytheMan- O man, most of you havent seen his work. The maps are perfect, and unfortuently there isent a server that has them. He is quite a great mapper and if his server was up 24/6 I would defently consiter number 3 or 4

Most are based on FACTS not favorites.
Also how much you see these maps in use.
There are are different views, but here are MP....

Might I add a few comments?

Scytheman's mods or realistic and leave me speechless. He is one helluva modder, but his mods were not given recognition for their greatness.

Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 5:17:54 PM

@Dazzle: Completely agree with ya, there are way too many great mods/modders out there for a true Top Five list. My Top Five list in my last post just included those I normally played on, but truely, the modders out there with good maps are too numerous to put on a Top Five list (plus, there's no way to compare the older mods to the newer ones, as many of those modders have already moved on)

Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 7:02:46 PM

< seems to like ^^^'s list.

Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 10:12:48 PM

@Bliz
The way I jugded my opinion was based on two things. 1) How much we see the mods 2) How good are they made.
-Ice
PS: No offence to those who I dident put on that list, as dazzle said there are many good modders so it opinion's will differ.

Sunday, June 25, 2006 at 4:31:50 AM

My Opinion-

1.Dazzle
2.T-Bone
3.Ouchpbx
4.Nokta
5.Repent

Also

Destroyer , I Really dont think cassie is one of the best. There Are Tons that beat Her. (No Effence Cassie.)

But.. Everyone has Their On opinions , so ill just stay out of it.

Sunday, June 25, 2006 at 9:21:12 AM

Yes, But some people have their own opinions. And some people have there favorite kind of mod.
IMO there are 3 basic types...

There is an awesome script kind of mod, Like rollerball or Survivor.
There is a "Mess around with the.mis and MW" kind of mod. Like OUCH's.
And then there are actuall fun to play in scrum and TBM kind of mods like Nap, Roo, Dash, and so on.

It all really depends on your preference of what a real "Mod" is.

Talking about the S-serie right? Or the IRONIZE?

Scythe

Sunday, June 25, 2006 at 10:02:10 PM

Mostly IRONIZE, found them enjoyable to the eyes and realistic look to them.

Sunday, June 25, 2006 at 10:51:26 PM

I've only saw S6. But IRONIZE was really candy for the eye.

Sunday, June 25, 2006 at 11:09:10 PM

Thanks Blitzer, Cassie.

Personally I think ChorionicIce meant my S-serie, I liked to play on these maps :)
But unfortunatelly I can't host!

@#$*%@

Scythe

Monday, June 26, 2006 at 7:38:52 AM

^ Yeah, many forget about your mods because they're never up. :(
Oh, and I prefer the S-series, great maps, especially when there's a good amount of people playing.

Monday, June 26, 2006 at 7:53:36 AM

I can host. Send me the files, and I'll host in the U.S. A mirror here would make the U.S. Players happy.

Monday, June 26, 2006 at 9:49:39 AM

Althoguh CannedSplam isn't a modder, there needs to be some more credit given to him for doing an awesome irreplacable job on Rollerball and many other soon-to-be hit mods.

Monday, June 26, 2006 at 9:57:07 AM

For me I wouldn't Number anyone in order..But I think the best scripters/modders would be artcrazy, CB, CannedSplam, Dazzle, Rooster, -z-, Repent , Monkey Man, 187, Dash, Scythe, T-Bone, Ouch, and Wiz-Triv...I would just like to say thanks to all of you for bringing out these awesome maps!

I miss the good ol days'
best of the
scripters and modders
--->

1. Nathan
2. Racer445
3. Isubuu
4. Roach
5. Spunky
6. Michael
7. Art crazy

Eh I dunno how to rate these guys, but they were my mentors,
I'd like to give thanks to all of these old people =P

Monday, June 26, 2006 at 5:36:06 PM

Does it really matter what the best five modders are? I mean, we all have our thoughts, opinions and such. One person may favor small maps good for scrum, while others may enjoy T-bone's race mods. I respect all the great modders.

Monday, June 26, 2006 at 6:30:45 PM

Okay, Skimming through this thread I'd like to say,

This may be adding to the drama with this thread but.... Where is warfare on here? He surpassed Art Crazy, Ish, Spunky, 187, Billy Bob, me, all the TT scriptors. Just because he is doing more recent work doesnt mean he doesnt deserve the glory...! :'(

@Daz,

THANKYOU.! XD

@Tank,

Thanks man, I appreciate that... But they cant really say anything till they've played it ;)

@Repent,

Okay, repent, I'd first like to point out that I respect you as a modder and as a person... But sometimes I think you can get a little ahead of yourself there. Between the spat with warfare, the previous thread in general about who is the best, this and some other things, you seem a little full of it. I mean, you are a great modder, I spend plenty of time in your mods, and they are just SO fun... I mean, I've probably played for the longest and had the most fun in you mods (up until rollerball). But, just because you think you deserve a spot on the list... Or more respect than this person, doesnt mean its true... And I dont mean to piss you off but some people can deserve it more than you. We all support you in thinktanks... You were one of the first modders, you could do things that were unheard off at the time... But now that it is easier to learn and mod, people are starting to do things you haven't.... Like dazzle, making mods for rollerball... Or Dotz with those weapons that still blow my mind... Or even T-bone, or... NOKTA? I mean, Im sure if you dedicated yourself as much as these guys, then you would accomplish some of those things, but can you atleast let them have their glory? The new generation of TT likes Nokta more than you, dont dwell on it; the new generation recognized Dotz mountain mod, without recognizing yours, so they think that his came first... SO? (not saying those things are true)

And as for rollerball, I cant help but feel a bit of jealousy coming from you there... (slap me if Im wrong). NO, it was not a community mod.... Whoever or whatever gave you this idea is wrong. Yes three people worked on it, Dazz basicaly did all the modding, Dr Saw provided some great skins, I scripted. I cant help but take it offensivly that something that took so long can be brushed aside, not worthy of glory because, in your eyes, its a community mod? 8o
Dont know what else to say about that....

You can hate me for this... Ban me from your mods, w/e you think is the best way to "react" but I felt I needed this to be said

I hear this NEVA DIE fellow was pretty good, but you guys were of course the reason I stopped making MODs. I could count everyone that has seen my MODs on one hand, and everyone of them think I am #1.

But, after all what do I know about modding? I guess you guys know best.

^ may I point out I did give you credit repent...
Go read the second to last page of the thread again. One of my posts states you e-mailed me about your ACAS problem and about changing the binds.
All of your credit is there.

EDIT: here is a quote for you. The entire post...

Repent e-mail's saying:

"I run the script camswitcher and it was using ( Ctrl z ) for the birdcam I
made it use ( Ctrl b ) , Arts Admin Script uses ( Ctrl s ) for the gui, I
didn't change it because my admins use it. I changed Save mission from (
Ctrl s ) to ( Ctrl + ) now it all works the way it should. So you may want
to pass this info on to the others.
Thanks."

So watch out for these scripts.

Then, someone posts that they have the same problem.
So I say change your bind because of ACAS.
They say thanks.
And I say "Thats what I am here for." because obviously more than that one person doesnt even bother reading the thread.

About rollerball credit? I asked canned not to give me any. I didnt even want credit for even helping. Canned was not giving me any credit because he was doing as I asked.

I feel insulted that you would label me as you are in the above post.

You spent 6 hours looking for a problem.
How long did it take me to write the stupid script? A whole lot longer than 6 hours. I think I know what is going on in ModWizard just a little bit...
At the time, it was not known TO ANYONE that ACAS messed with the binds of my script. So I told you what EVERYONE knew.
I knew that plenty of people have installed it and it works fine. So I tell you, if it isnt working fine, you must have done something wrong.

Now I want you to tell me...
If I had no idea ACAS was screwing with my Modwiz and other people have the script and it works fine for them, how am I wrong telling you the problem is on your end?
How am I wrong telling you that since there ARE noobs out there who can't install it, you could have possibly made a mistake just like them.
Is it really important to tell everyone where I get every tidbit of information? Even if the person was given credit for it 2 or 3 posts above?

I am really sorry repent that the world is oppressing you so and insulting your intelligence.
And I am especially sorry for using your obviously copyrighted words "Change your binds because ACAS messes with Modwizard."

I would also like to say, repent, that you were my favorite modder.
My first mods that I ever did were based off of yours.

Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 11:26:04 AM

Hey Warfare. Remember my gametype idea? We never got to work on it at all. It would be cool if we could start that up again. Just you and me. MOD buddies!

@Repent,

Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 12:48:26 PM

Canned you're still an ASS.

Way to be the bigger person!

Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 3:09:25 PM

If I may ask a question>> Where are all these so called modders from the past. I have heard of them but never see any of them like 187, nathan etc.

When you made the game script for me you said the same thing not to give you any credit, but I gave you credit when ever I had the chance why because it was the right thing to do. I would never have treated you the way you treated me,

Maybe he was doing it just because he belives he is your friend and friends don't expect to recieve credit for helping another friends out, Thats like saying pay me the money for the help.

Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 3:44:06 PM

Repent... Take a sample of 2 e-mails I sent you involving mod wizard...

Create a new batch file in where your ThinkTanks.exe is and put

ThinkTanks -console -log 1

Inside of it.

Run a dedicated server, then run that batch file

Hit Alt + Enter to switch into window mode if it isnt already and move the
windows around so I can see them all... You can close the batch windows that
just sit there and do nothing

Enter the game, start modwiz and screen capture it
then try and save the mission and screen capture that..
send me the photos as.jpgs and I will see what I can do

War

Here's the deal.
I Installed a new instance of TT and downloaded modwiz and installed it.
Worked fine.
Now, considering the amount of crap in your logs, I think it is safe to say that that has something to do with it.

The reason you cannot see bind.cs being compiled is that it is client side... Server doesnt need binds... Cant use them. The new batch file I told you about should run TT with a console open. That is the client side.

The dedicated server shows that the commands are being called correctly. Everything should be working fine.

I cant make a total opinion without the client side console, so please send that this way

Sorry for the trouble
War

That is only 2 e-mails. The others were a little short.
Although I did not say "thank you" I sure as hell tried helped you, and I sure as hell did not treat you with any disrespect.
It would not be in my best interest to treat you bad Repent... I wanted you to come back to PTT...

I guess me and my terrible, law-breaking, alcohol drinking, drug doing, hoodlum teenage ways got the best of me.

Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 3:46:01 PM

Once again, you cannot put a rank on modders. It all depends on what they accomplish, and there has been many accomlishments in TT. All I have to say is-

-z- is the best modder

He made the first map, and that has been the template for almost every map created to this date (indirectly).

Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.

Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 6:53:31 PM

^ I'd just like to add something...
-z- has the TT source, there are scripts now that we scriptors (Warfare, Canned and me, modwiz, Rollerball and IPJoin/ACAS respectadly) have gone to hell and back just to find a little line we had no way of knowing about! If I had the TT source, hell I could have done something like IP-Join in 10 minutes maximum!

So -z- may have done everything in a time where scripting was almost unexistant in the community, but he didnt work hard on them as we do now, even with all the help we have currently. (including TGE Demo and open source TGE games)

I think Dazzle and Repent are tied at #1.

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at 9:14:25 AM

Look here repent... You come to me with a problem and I give you my limited teenage knowledge.

At the time of this event... If something didn't work, it was a problem the pref.cs or installation... I had no idea ACAS messed things up... No one did yet...
ACAS was a problem NO ONE had not run into... I don't even use ACAS.
So hence, you must have done something wrong... Am I using fuzzy logic here? How hard is that to understand?

In the end it seems to me the only "disrespect" I gave to you was coming from my choice of words, or from my age. (Nice categorization of me in a previous post. LABLE ME!!! Stupid teenagers!)
Excuse my insignificant teenage speech patterns and look at what is being said, not how I said it. I swear. So?

I intended no disrespect with what I said to you and I stand by that.

So, since you think I have given you disrespect in what has past, yet I have not... Try the next paragraph on for size...

I am completely and utterly sorry for not being completely submissive to my obvious superior, insulting said superior's intelligence, and conversing with said superior in such a way that said superior assumed I was expelling "attitude" in said superior's general direction.
From now on I will admit that the problem is always mine and follow up every conversation with a "Yes sir/ma'am and thank you." solely because I have the suffix "-teen" at the end of my years. I also inhibit my use of rational thought and self-will because it is of prime importance that I do exactly what I am told when I am told to do it. I understand that reality bends to the will of said superior... If said superior says something is, it is without a doubt. Any deviation from these understandings will not be tolerated by said superior and will be handled with, including but not limited to, accusations, punishments, unfair/untrue comments, and abandonment.

If I wanted to be disrespectful to you repent I would have done so.
Sorry for not exactly treating you with presidential V.I.P. Standards...

Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at 11:34:25 AM

Warfare maybe I expect to much from the younger members of this community

What do you expect from the older members?
If they "treated you like this" would it be ok?

You say it like it is typical for me as a "younger member" to disrespect you or not say thank you.

To include me in such a group is an insult...

More fuzzy logic?

Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at 12:14:42 PM

Okay I was trying to be the bigger man and try and stay out of this whole thing.... But it seems that my young nature has gotten the best of me.

@Repent,

My parents always taught me to be respectful of anyone who was older than me, whether I liked them or not (it is to my knowledge you are over 50 years old). I understand that you "expect" a lot of "respect." I find it so completely difficult to respect someone who manages to cuss a 14 year old boy out in a public forum, but for a 50 year old man to do something like that? Must I say it....

I think that warfare handled his situation with you very well. You had a problem, he treated you like some person he met over the internet. If you are concerned with him being rude... You might first want to worry about yourself.

And as for these issues with credit, I'd like to point out that Dazzle and I haven't even released the game! Dazzle provided 4 miniscule pictures, which were ment to be a sort of preview, and I didn't know he did this. HOW do you expect me to give anyone credit? I planned on telling EVERYONE warfare helped me. He gave me ideas, ways to improve certain things, and different methods not for just rollerball but for scripting in general, far before I could come close to making it. He taught me how to script, I am very greatful. So I guess you could just say that Warfare did rollerball for me? Or that he made my ping script? Or keep away? Or anything I've ever accomplished. That enough credit? Maybe I should thank Warfares parents... Or his grandparents, or -z-'s parents.... After all, I wouldn't be able to script in TT or post this comment without them.

I don't know what exactly I did to ruin ThinkTanks, pissing you off doesn't lable me as the next Chong...

Okay repent. Have a nice day, to bad you aren't modding... You are very good.
I want to respect you, but I find it to be very challenging.
