EUGENE, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

Trouble in the Pacific North-West today as ThinkTanks falls to #2 in Garage Games' most popular list. Has ThinkTanks lost it's pop? Are my dire predictions coming true? Bravetree, I hope you are aware of this. Head downstairs into the Garage Games office, and fix it! :)

Bravetree needs an update, definetly. What should it be, that the engine TT is running will support?

Well, I don't know that falling to #2 is a harbinger of impending doom, but I do know that TT does need an update. The current version is getting a bit stale as it is. We know they're working on it, but I hope that update is closer than I think it is.

Thanks for that link, Nathan. I didn't even know that thread existed and it was great to hear from Joe and everyone else regarding the update. One possible solution that Fro and I were talking about a couple of months ago might be to do a SIMPLE (TT1.5?) update - say a few more maps and some new power-ups - and then post it on sites like MacGameFiles ( There is an incredible amount of Mac users associated with this game and the community supports itself with us like-minded people). Once the bump is made to the top of the demo download list again, new users will give it a try. Tease the veterans with might be coming and attract new players along the way. That would at least give TT/BT some visibility again and buy a little more time to work on the major updates. I know I'm extremely naive about how all this works and perhaps it all costs too much. But, hey, if someone like dash (who is an incredibly talented breath of fresh air) can whip out a map in half an hour, surely GrandWizard (and I mean that sincerely) Pokemalo could do the same and gives us a true treat of what we so desperately want.

TT needs updatesd on the double! TT is getting boring

I will be here for a very long time.

I take it back. TT2, you're number 1 fan awaits!!

Perhaps I should complete a series of desert maps? I already have that "Cacti Canyon" map, so I could just rename it to fit the TT theme, and make them good. :)

That Would Be Great!

Saturday, October 02, 2004 at 10:02:24 PM

Highly apreciated nathan!

Saturday, October 02, 2004 at 10:19:41 PM

Yeah and do whatever you have to do so we can download them so we don't have to wait an hour to load...

Pray to GOD for him to reveal himself to you.

Saturday, October 02, 2004 at 10:45:30 PM

If I make them, I'll release them as an "unofficial official" update, meaning anyone can use them in their mods anytime, no credit due. ;)

Saturday, October 02, 2004 at 11:20:05 PM

All right!! Nathan, you really should host your mods again!

Saturday, October 02, 2004 at 11:22:11 PM

Yeah!

Pray to GOD for him to reveal himself to you.

@ Nathan COOL

Orbz is probably #1 now because it's bundled with every new G5 from Apple. If they would have done that with TT we'd probably be getting our butts kicked all over the map by all those G5 users by now. :S

Prob almost everyone in the whole world got a copy of TT... That's why none else is buying it just like a few months ago.

@ BC
Would it be better to have the maps crowded and lagged by all these new users or... Would it be better to have less player (but experienced) and faster games?

TT just isn't fun anymore. I haven't fired it up in two months, the forums are the only draw now.

I'd use my own maps but, It's difficult because of all the scripts in it, HARDLY ANY OF WHICH, ARE MY OWN! So, I'll try and keep the feel of the mod WITHOUT all the scripts!

How long will it take for GG to make TT2?????? I saw that list too, and I don't like where all this is heading...

Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 5:43:20 AM

Okay, first off, ThinkTanks 2 won't be hapening for a long time.

I know a lot of people are getting sick of seeing these (BraveTree's Content Packs).. So those that have been getting offended can rest assured that we don´t have plans for any content packs in the very neart future. Now to get cracking on the xarcade version of ThinkTanks!
