Can't seem to find the original post, but I think I mentioned my thoughts way back when on the final.
Final will occur on Thursday June 30, between the top 2 teams. First place team chooses color and timeslot. Bottom 2 teams can slug it out for 3rd in the other timeslot.
OR
2nd and 3rd place teams can meet in the earlier time slot to determine who meets the 1st place team in the later timeslot.
OR
1st place team is given the title "CTF League Season 1.5 Grande Champignons" and we take our learnings and start a new season.
I'll take door #3.
2.0 has a lot of good ideas brewing.
@ Oddball. Just a question. Is the final going to be on June 30, or June 23?
Last game of the season is June 23, and playoffs can be played June 30

How do you have it with player attendance for tonight's game? I'm very sorry to say this. But it doesn't look better for the Ferrets, than the fact, we might have to concede our game tonight. The best we could come up with, would be 2 players, 3 at most. And I don't think that would fit the bill, beating ya up...hehe lol lol. XD
Actually, even I won't make it, since it's appeared to me that I better go to bed early tonight. I'm invited to my wife's parents, to celebrate Mid Summers Day tomorrow and if I am to be clear in my head tomorrow, I must really get some sleep before that.
Anyways.
I think the only reason to play the game, would be if you guys are in the same situation, that you can't field more than 3 players. In that case, by all means, play it out. I will let Supra be captain in my place.
@ My Ferrets bro's. Let's try our best to field a full team in the playoff game(s) on Thursday next week! :) The Ferrets are not done here.

After last week I am not sure but even if its just me I am not going down with out a fight ! LK's worked to hard to get to this point ! So whether its just me or my whole team we will play ! I wish you luck in fielding a team tonight ! B)
I'll be there I put up an alarm clock just now and a sticky not on my computer ^^ so chances are I'll be there 30 minutes early as usual. :)
@ Ferrets. KJ, Dar, Lancer and myself are out of tonights game. So far, we got Supra and Trivox. Belikin maybe (I've got no answer from him).
If those of you who can make it are up to it, then I encourage you to play it. Supra will be my captain sub.
@ Lonewolf. I'm leaving home in about 4 hours. I've emailed my team about the situation and asked them to tell here on the forum, what they want to do.
If no one of us says anything here until one hour before game time, consider it not to be played.

Im in for tonights game. I was out of town and a little slow to answer, sry. I will check back here later to get the update on who can and cannot play.
Ok, thanks Belikin. Try talking with the others (Supra and Trivox) and see what they think.
Regarding Ferret's vs LK's:
kj should show, I'll try extra hard to get him home from All Star practice.
I would say consider the game on, all should show.
otherwise people find it a reason not to show....

Well, second was good, once Cat was able to actually get into the server mid first game.
Super games Ladykillers, great skill I'm real happy and honored. On to the Finals! B)
I for one won't be coming back for CTF 2 unless we have much better control of the servers and maps. Last nights first game was a mess, and to top it off WE HAD TO PLAY ON RECEPTORS RIDGE AGAIN!!!!!
Sorry about lastnight LilAlienD. I know you were plenty upset that Cat couldn't join and I don't blame you. But you were perfectly within your right NOT to start play until all were present. We would have waited another 15 minutes, and this would have avoided Receptor Ridge too.
Finally a Lush map!! LKs or FF what maps did you play on?!!
Dan must be out of the office or something. I have not received an e-mail response from him at all.
Playoff schedule is up. Decided to go the all inclusive route and ensure everyone plays once more next week. Top 2 teams go for the title and bottom 2 teams go for consolation. Captains pick your color. Let me know if you want to switch slots.

Well seeing as how I kept bouncin' out to check for my teammates I didnt' catch most of the chatting. Just before the first game started everyone kept saying "Lonewolf stay" so I assumed he would just play with us. The majority vote was also to play at restart. So I did and we went for it. A few minutes later I noticed that LW was actually just sitting there and not doing anything. Once I noticed, using our team chat, we started asking him to leave since he's not playing and to let someone from our actual team in. He didn't for several minutes after that. 30 seconds after he left, Cat came saying he could finally get in.
So yes, we could have waited the game, but I was just under the impression that everyone wanted "GAME ON" and that LW was gonna play for us since he was there. By the time it all got figured out we were already so far into the round I just wanted to get finished up.
It's all good though. Mistakes were made from different sides. No worries now.
It was a good season, but I'll avoided the headaches and wait until we get a little more control over things.

@ Ferrets. My apologies that I couldn't be there with you. You're my heroes though, battling it out without a full line up. I hope the games went smooth and well, without server troubles, etc. I see you had a lush map!! Woot! (My favorite map also, Medulla Mesa). Baba, you're a blessed person. What you do for our team, is invalueable and it was a noble deed, managing to drive KJ in time for the game. I thank you a lot for that. What a father! Next game, the Final, be sure that I will be there for the team.
@ Ladykillers. Ferret furs are very expensive. You couldn't afford it. Some bird whispered in my ear that you can find some artificial imitations, though, deep inside the volcano on Neurotic Nexus. ;)

It's been a fun tournament. Many things have happened, some good, some less pleasant. But in the whole, I'm very happy that I could get the chance to captain a great team, with great sports. I love you, Ferrets!!

Great season all ! Yes we had a few problems but over all I think things went well.
We learned a lot to take with us into CTF 2.0 !

Yeah, I think we have done some real good job, EVERYONE, in actually keeping this league together, intact. We really DID it!! It sure looked like we were entering some serious points of halts occasionally. BUT, we played our ways all the way through it!! Big kudos to all teams for making it through.
And in the end, today, we're all the best of friends. We have no fallen angels. We have no rioting renegades.
I think next league can only get even better. And, of course, there is no reason to HOPE for a next league, but rather a reason to start considering WHEN and HOW it will happen.
My all in all experience from this league, is that I think CTF DOES really rocks. It's a very interesting game type that definitely deserves to get its own league and gain a great reputation. I so much hope that Bravetree (and maybe with a little help from the collected minds of the more coding savvy figures among us), will value this big potential of broadening the game's range of variation.
I will not stop loving bm and scrum, but ctf surely deserves to have a solid place in between. I consider it to be the perfect MIX, between both of them; bm and scrum.
@ Falsetto Ferrets. Same goes for you and those who are interested; I'd like to see a future top notch CTF gang made up of ferocious, Falsetto Ferrets!

@ lady killers, I'm very pleased to have been part of the team, it was great. I had loads of fun blowing em kisses of death. I'm In to defend our title. Hey this is my first trophy in TT. I cant wait to see it.

League Rules
Format
A match will consists of 2 games played back to back. A game is the standard 15 minutes and will be played in its Entirety . There are a total of 4 teams in the League and each team will field 5 players per match. Each team will play each other team twice for a total of 6 matches. Each team will play 3 matches as one color then switch for the last 3 matches.
Matches will be played back to back on Thursdays starting at 9:30 PM EST and 10:30 PM EST respectively. Expect to play 3 matches in each timeslot. A Match starts after the clock ticks down to 0 and both Captains have agreed "GAME ON!!". Do not mass exit and enter to reset the clock.
If we are able to lock the server with a particular terrain, then
The League Committee (Lonewolf/Oddball) with input from the Captains, will select up to 3 maps of each terrain type (lush/spooky/frantic). A team will play 2 matches against the same team on the same terrain but as a different color in the second half of the season.
If not;
A match will be played on whatever terrain appears at game time. A team will play 2 matches against the same team on random terrain, but as a different color in the second half of the season. Admin will be available to boot individuals not on the competing teams. Hope everyone can live with that.
Screenshots of the final scores, or links to the 'recent results' of your game must be posted to the forum after the game.
No restarts. Once a game has begun must be played to conclusion and shall not be halted for lag, discussion or any other minor complications.
Scoring
Based on 2 games/match, the scoring is as follows:
0 points for a loss
1 point for a draw
2 points for a win.
1 Bonus point for a double win.
If a team wins both games, then they would score 2 points for each game, and a bonus point for a full victory given a total of 5 points.
If a team wins one and loses the other, then they score 2 points for the first, and none for the second giving a total of 2 points, and so on.
Goal difference is calculated as a total of both games. If a team wins by 12 - 9 in game one, and loses 9 - 10 in game two, thats a total of (12 + 9) to (9 + 10) or 21 to 19, giving a total goal difference of 2pts to the winners. The losers get a score of 0 for the goal difference. Goal difference will be used in the case of tied rank positions.
Is there a volunteer to tabulate individual scores?
Teams
Captains will be appointed and players will be drafted to a team. Any player expressing interest after the draft begins will be placed on a reserve list.
Each team must field 5 players for a game. If a team is short a player, Captains can decide weither to proceed to play or forfeit. This must be agreed to before the clock resets, and both Captains must live with the result if the team is willing to stick around to play.
A team cam have a maximum of 7 players. Its the Captain's primary responsibility to ensure they can field a team. No substitutions of players not officially on the team are allowed at game time. If you need a replacement player, then they need to be formally added to your team ahead of time from the Reserve List. To formally drop & pick you must send and e-mail to me (Oddball) and CC the other teams Captains, stating the reason for dropping the player. The change is not effective until I reply as approved. Furom will be updated appropriately. Approvals are on a first come first served basis. Dropped players are not added back to the reserve list.
If the Captain is not playing, there must be a substitute team-captain nominated for the game.
Major News : CTF Server will now be locked on Thurs nights until Fri so we can use it for leagues ! Please contact Oddball or LONEWOLF for pass to server !
Any one caught handing out this pass to any one but league players will be kicked from Leagues and never allowed into any Future Leagues of any kind !
Also please every one thank DanMac for doing this for us !
From now on please take 2 screenies per game, 1 in the game(right before it goes to end of game score board) and 1 of the final score board at end of game. This way we can keep track of individual scores also !
