Hi all,

I am starting to notice another swell of discontent in the community with an increase in troublesome gamers coming out from under the rocks. The Ying has had a nice run, here come da yang. (As of this writing, 30% of the threads on the first page are based on negative issues and harrassement from other players)

As such, I thought a "zen-thread" would be a nice diversion.

The question here is... What is your favorite music to listen to when you are in the game?

@bak:

We're getting WAY off topic, so this'll be my last post on this. Anyhow, you are quite correct....sort of. I'm the Tank Commander, which means I man the M2.50cal machine gun. However, I have a main-gun override control in case something happens to the gunner's controls or we are short one crew member. That means the Tank Commander can actually oopeate the M2.50cal machine gun, the M240 7.62mm coax machine gun, AND the 120mm Main Gun! It's a bit difficult to operate all three at once though, so I let the gunner and loader do their jobs.

Can't override the driver position though. Never insult the driver. He has the only seat with a seat-belt, and will happily find some truly nasty bumps and ditches if the crew gives him a hard time.

I dont think you need to worry about getting off-topic. TG said she makes all these threads to generate conversation.

As for the tank... Well... Guess I can run away without a driver.

Anyhow, I like all types of music. From metal to classical. I loves it all.

I have just discovered "Blue Man Group!" Scrumming with "Time to Start" will be quite satisfying! "Current" is pretty strong too. Didn't know these guys were an actual band when I saw them on the Intel commercials.

And now, my "community points" shall drop a fiver for reviving an old thread. :P Ah well.

Blue Man Group rocks.

I found a new band too! It's called "Cryptic Vision". Nice progressive music. Scrumming with Shock Value and New Perspective is fun.

The Matrix soundtrack still rocks! Especially for the frantic maps which I've only just begun to appreciate and play.

Anything by the modern day Mozart, Thomas Newman! (American Beauty, Shawshank Redemption, Phenomenon, etc.)

Shakespeare in love soundtrack is very good when you are in that mellow place and merely want to fly on the hills and...wait, that sounds kinda gay, right? Edit....

I've opened up Winamp from time to time and played some streaming audio from a Dance, Techno, or Industrial site. The pumping music really adds to the excitement of gamplay.

Lately I've found that I prefer to play without any music so I can hear the sound effects (mainly that "Tink! Tink! Tink! One).

However, whenever I'm in league play I listen to Gustav Holst's, "Mars, the Bringer of War" from "The Planets". ;)

I love Ride of the Valkyries, but now I'm wondering if that's why I'm always crashing into those rocks, trees, falling off cliffs, getting blown up, etc, etc.

Dont play this music while driving

Wagners Ride of the Valkyries tops list

The Associated Press

LONDON - When Richard Wagner composed his powerful Ride of the Valkyries in the 1850s, he surely wasnt thinking of any danger he was posing to 21st-century motorists.

Britains RAC Foundation for Motoring on Wednesday named the strident classical piece the No. 1 tune not to play while driving, based on research it says shows loud music can cause accidents.

The Dies Irae from Giuseppe Verdis Requiem was also considered a no-no. The top-five list of tunes to avoid while behind the wheel was rounded out by three modern songs Firestarter by the Prodigy, Red Alert by Basement Jaxx and Insomnia by Faithless.

To help music-loving motorists, the foundation also provided a top-five list of songs that may safely be played while driving, albeit quietly.

Norah Jones smash hit Come Away with Me was deemed calm enough, as was Mad World by Gary Jules. Other songs on the safe list were Another Day by R&B singer Lemar, Too Lost in You by girl group The Sugababes and Breathe Easy by boy band Blue.

Its not the first time the RAC Foundation has warned of the dangers of driving with Wagner.

Ride of the Valkyries topped the RAC Foundation list of dangerous songs two years ago, when the issue was the peril of fast tempos. Verdis Dies Irae was No. 3 on that list.

Lol I saw that on another forum I'm on...but the ride of the valkyries is one of the best pieces of music ever made...made famous by the helicopter scene in apocolyps now (best movie)

Although I love the Monkees (obviously), they hardly get me in a TT mood.

My Itunes playlist for TT is well over 200 songs long. Some of the artists on that particular list are Stone Temple Pilots, Perfect Cricle, Counting Crows, Rob Zombie, Nirvana, AC/DC, Gin Blossoms, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Moby, Ben Harper, Tori Amos, The Doors, CCR and many others.

Oooh, and I nearly forgot about Gn'R.

:)

Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 8:17:00 PM

200 songs long?!? I spend waaay to much money on music. :S

No, it's not photoshop. I just have A LOT of cd's and old albums. I had a friend of mine transfer most of the albums into mp3 format for me last year. I own 'em all. Lately King Crimson's Discipline and Genesis Seconds Out Live have been my favorites.

KBC, that looks similar to my library. I think mine is right around 4000 songs.
