Ok...

What are the thoughts about when to begin, improvements or changes, map discussions, date and time, pretty much anything related to a past TBML or season five.

Some different options have been discussed:

1. A fast start of season 5 - in order to complete season 5 and get out at the mid June and be done for summer break.

2. A fall start - ending season 4 in the next week and taking April-Aug break.

3. A shorter season - out by June.

4. Something else?

I think having a mini league with extreme maps would be fun. We could call it TBML Extreme 1.0. Try to field the 6 teams again, play each other once, and just have a championship game. Keep same teams but have it 4v4. I think it would be great to work in some new captains and work some bugs out. I know I'll play but I won't be Captain. Heck if it works out we could have an TBML Extreme 2.0 right after over the summer. We could possibly then take it down to a 3v3 format to make sure teams have a chance to field enough players for the summer one. If we didn't like the extreme maps or anything from 1.0 we could then just change it for 2.0. When fall comes around we can take what we learned from from the mini seasons, good and bad, and start up again with TBML 5.0.

Thoughts/ideas?

Well I have some extreme maps to use, it would definatly be challenging. I also have the big, I mean very big torque map where we can possibly match three teams against three other teams.. You can get lost on this map. But with some objects placed way out you can get youre bearings.

Just thought I would Bring this up,
Issues on Voice Chatting during Game seems to be a More "Heated" side of Rules & Regulations and I would Like to see some Rules laid out either in favor of or Disregarding it !
I am Sick of Hearing others Complaining about it so I think we should set it in Concrete !

Actually disregard me wanting to start it immediately. I am booking a trip to Vietnam for one month, so I would rather start sometime after the summer.

Ok,So what is going To come of This. With Supra leaving and all? Who Takes over, Does TBM just Fade into the Background? Never to be Seen again...? :o

Those interested could play if there is desire. NOT enough players by my count, and you would need 5 out of 6 new captains. I think it might be silly to start now in any way.

Nontheless, no matter what happens, most are willing to return in the fall, whether season five goes now or not.

Sign me up for TMBL 5 after the summer break.

Seems to be fading a bit at this point and I'm OK with that. Things have gotten a little busy for me and for some reason my interest in TT has taken a big drop lately. Feels kinda strange in a way, but perhaps I need a little break after all. And since the mini-season concept seems to have lost steam, maybe we're all in some sort of strange agreement.

I would like to sign up for season 5.0 a little ways after the summer break. I will need time to work on the medium tank ( the darn light is getting to much to handle)

I get a strange feeling of separation. :S

I thought we all engaged in some sort of eternal group marriage here. We have to stick with each others and TT for life. This profession we all share - the knowledge how to drive & shoot virtual mini cartoon tanks - must be passed on to our children. We're starting to become a dying breed. Let's rectify that.

Although, I agree that it might be a good idea to have some sort of break. There has been lots of leagues and tournaments and we need to get some fresh air from outside our computer rooms. But don't loose faith in this game and community.

Anywho yes it seems we all are drifting a bit here,, unless there are objections , I will look at resurrecting TBML 5.0 in a while however it seems most of us who are the driving force behind this are snowed under with work , dash supra and myself are busy right now so relax enjoy pick up games and give us a decent amount of time to regroup when life swings to a decent balance again

I'll be back. Just crazy right now. Taxes, work, new hires, coaching soccer, yardwork, housework, shopping for new house. Just cannot do leagues this summer. I'll still be around
late at night several times a week and then I'll look at getting back in the leagues in the fall.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as all the other vets here.

New business...new house...kids...chores....Corona lights...yard work :P

You can catch me in pickup games on most nights after 11 PM EST though.

...okay now here's a question that has been eating away at me for some time...
Is this "Extreme Mini-Season" going to actually be put into action? :o I'm anxious to get back into some of the action...but I am unsure if either TBML5.0 or the Extreme MiniSeason will ever get goin. :S

5.0 Will get going, Just later in the Year... The X-Treme Mini-Season, Well there hasn't been Word about it, Supra Took a Break and it Kinda just fell away... I can't answer about the Mini season

Here are my 2 cents worth. Yeah need to revamp this thread, hopefully the season can start around end of summer early fall *Aug/Sept*.

Some players brought up the issue about "Voice/Audio" during games. I think each team should decide wether or not to use voice. If it causes lag on their team then this should be a wake up call for them not to use it. I personally don't see a problem with it.

Lag tends to get certain people at certain times or on different servers. Where some people will have great ping times and others wont or vice versa. How should this be fixed? Pay once a year for better servers to host games? Bleh I dont know just a crazy idea XD

About start time. Well we should start at or 5 minutes after (at the latest) the time the game is scheduled to start. (Anytime, Any Evening after 6pm PST)
Games should be held during weekends that way everyone else can play, thus, might be able to bring extra players who normally wouldnt be able to show up for a game during the week. This could be a double edge sword since attendance has been or still is an issue.

About codes or mods on maps. Bleh just use unmodified maps but to where captains from either team have admin pass to remove unwanted players.
Past 2 seasons have been alright. Not as great as the first 2. All these personal problems with players should be kept away from the league.

Hope to see many great players return to the league and to see many new others players to be a part of TBML 5.0 B)

Id Go For The Mini Season

I'd say go for the start in August. Like sometime at the start of august would be better and we finish in like end of august or sometime in September.

Here's my future status. In August/September I'm starting up my company. It's going to take 110% of my time. But of course, I can't see myself stop playing TT, so I'm prepared to stow in some extra 5% of my precious time for the game.

That is, IF we would play this on weekends (Friday evenings through to Sunday early evenings).

O_o Crud that means that half of the season will fall during the first weeks of school :S I'll be able to make the begining of the season (with the exception of the week I go away to the beach) but I'm not too sure about the rest. I hope school doesn't force me to drop the league (which would really suck).

I say doing a full new redraft of all players would be the best way to go. The main idea should be to get a balanced league in order to get the most fun out of it, with thriling games that no one can predict in beforehand. With prefixed setups, the risk could be that all the meld-together vets would gather in the same constellations as before, having a telepathic link between each others brains. I think, keeping the captains (if they still want to captain) and maybe throw in some new candidates would be the best way to go. Perhaps a good comprimise would be to let the captains keep one selected player from their previous team roster, and draft for the others? I believe, even then, that captains would be able to draft some of their old players anyway.

That's what I think would make up for a new, fun and balanced league season. ;)
