This was first suggested as a joke in the Is TT a Sport thread, but it's actually feasible to do. Is there any interest in it? One of my other online hobbies is creating virtual cards for the now-defunct Highlander CCG, so I've had a fair amount of practice at creating card images.

The cards I have in mind would be for 'league' events only: PsychoScrum, Team Battle League, etc. Only events with a defined start and end and stats-tracking would be eligible to have cards built for it. Each participant would have their own card, listing their name (online only, not reallife), team, individual stats, team stats, and rankings.

The hardest part of the whole thing would be collecting an image to use for each person. What I'm currently considering would be have the person send me (or another 'photographer') the skin(s) they use - that way they will appear in their card with their own skin - and then go into a server with that person at an arranged time and capture images of them, then use the best image on the card.

Each person would receive a copy of their own trading card, and I could probably set up a website that would hand out a limited number of each card to requesters as well.

Thoughts anyone?

Ice - that's just fine. If you want to make a template to be used for a league I'd be happy to accept them. At this particular point I don't need additional artists to build the actual cards, but it's entirely possible that in the future I will farm out some of the work.

I'm going to create a page showing all the templates so that each league organizer can choose what template they want to use for their league.

Also, I don't have to be the only person building trading cards either. However, I would prefer if there is no duplicated efforts - ie - if someone has asked me to create a line of trading cards, don't turn around and ask someone else for some as well. I have plenty of projects to do without wasting a bunch of time like that.

@ Template for fun. This has been pretty easy to do. This template was actually stolen from a real card that was on the web. Just made minor variations. The old beatup edges were on the original card.

Nnnnnope. XD It's still proprietary until that card line has been published. *grin* Once it's been used it should be easy to duplicate, but if I design a card template for a league (and that one's for Team Battlemode), it belongs to them until it's released.

Yes, I think -z-'s template would be more appropriate as it is small without giving up to much style.
