@ Teenskye:

Here, I think this might help you --> click here In the link I have listed about 50 guidelines for how to keep your army active.

Basically, its all about patience. An army is not going to appear out of the blue. It takes time and dedication.

To answer your question, VT's leader (General Vig), recruited a small group of co-leaders, who helped him recruit members. VT, unlike some armies, has and is run by a group of leaders, who share the responsibilities of organzing wars, recruiting new members etc.

If you would like further help, just post and I'd be happy to help you. Also, I have a thread on what a good main post should look like. I can provide the link to it if you would like it.

;)

Let me add something to what Spirit has listed.

Teenskye:TSK:TC2,

First off you can;t come in as a newb and expect people to follow you, you have got to be vry good at either Battle Mode or Scrum. You have got to get a reputation as a good player then people will join you, when they see that you can handle your own. Also you got to have some (Balls) for the lack of a better term I apologize, but basically thats it. It takes time, best thing to do man is to be in an army and gather all the experience you can and become a solid playa! Also someone who is trustworthy, and has a reputation as such. Like for instance if I were not already in M.I. And Jed wanted to start his own army I would go with Jed over UF SA or FI, why? Because he is a young man ful of integrity with a good rep, who plays his heart out everytime he is in a game, no matter the score.

Fundamental: Trust and Loyalty.

I think Cassie said it best, short and sweet. It takes trust and loyalty to get an army started. No matter what the skill, or what the quantity is, it is the quality of the members (aka loyalty) that promotes a long-living army.

If you look at the Top Five, that is a key virtue in them all. SA has it integrated very well, you must be loyal, or bust. UF also has it, when they said about trying to be a family (ok, maybe not as clear-cut, but still there). FI was built off of ST, which was a tribe, or family. MI, well, I can't really say about them, Mercenaries don't really have a family, or loyalty, except to the one who pays them... XD. And VT, they also have good loyalty between members.

Now, loyalty is not the only good quality. There is also skill, wisdom, creativity, leadership, and probably a few others things I'm forgetting right now. However, the good new army is the army with good leadership, trust between leaders and members, and loyalty to that army (remember, the more armies someone can be in, the less loyalty you are ensured). Hope this helps (not to say others' advice were not good as well, just my $0.02.)

Teenskye, ur doing fine, u got a loyal member ( cyber end dragon) and if he already isn't than make him a co-leader and share ur ideas with him via email IM etc.

You just need to make a relationship and trust in that person. And example of that is falling back into a person's arms comfortably. If u can trust them to stop u from falling, than u can trust them to do anything. I believe that every VT leader ( the triumverate) can stop me from falling, I can trust them that much, sheesh, I let them help run an army, I put these positions together ( with the help of Radical One and Spirit) If u can just ur members, and they can trusdst u, u got urself one hell of any army, so get out there, and believe that u can fall back and let them stop u from falling!

My Help

Well, don't get too many more members than about 20, Teen, and then train those members that you do have. But keep the doors open to good ppl to join and don't be afraid to fight strong armies like TS and VT, because even losses help in expierience. BTW I don't mean have the courage to fight SA! %)

P.S. VT will probably be ready for another war in a couple weeks, if the other leaders say no, then come back next week!

Hmm, guys, what do ya think about making a book off of that? :P

Thinktanks: $20 New Mouse: $15 Winning an indy scrum game: Priceless

Another fundamental: Activeness

If you go inactive, members will think your army is dead, and then you'll find you're kissing the members bye-bye.
