Ho and I will play each team going down the list until we lose. Then the winners take over and keep going down the list. To be added to the bottom of the list, post here! We will have a continous list for 2 on 2 challenges. This will keep people in tip top shape for the next tournament!!

Challenges must be played within a maximum of 1 week, and preferably within a day or two. Let's keep this fast-moving and up-tempo! -Rx

Official map list. Each challenge will be played on the next map listed, and then the next challenge will be played on the subsequent map.

Exclusive Game Footage!!!
Video of the first game (Tally Ho & Reagent X vs. Rogue and NUTS!) is available right here!!
Download the movie here . (QuickTime 7 required; 111 MB).

Well...

Perhaps 2 on 2 is a ilttle less popular because it is so hard to cover the field with only 4 players. I think we should bring this puppy to an end. We could resuscitate this by using just the smallest maps, or we could have a 2 on 2 tourney. But with PsychoScrum going and the 3 on 3, maybe its time to put this to bed.

Before the final closing of this challenge, I think it could be fun to see the two clearly most dominant teams face off on each other. Wiz/triv and dar/kj no doubt dominated this event and played ever so excellently. But they never actually met up and played each other.

So here's my proposal. Let's close this thing out with a 2 on 2 Challenge, Masters Championship: Wiz & Triv vs. Dar & kj! What do you think?

I hear you, Reagent. You're probably right in that the best thing to do, might be to haul this baby overboard. I really really loved to play it (and all in all, 2 on 2 scrum is still my number 1 flavor of all gametypes). Who knows, maybe the memory of this 'challenge thingy' (don't know what else to call it, lol) will float up on some exotic island and reflower like never before. We'll see.

BUT (!)

Of course I agree that we ought to have one final batallion before sinking the ship (or was it jettison the baby overboard?).

After we had left off, I sneaked in here occasionally and I got very interested when I saw the great performance of kj & dar and I was always curious to meet these little friends for some rumble in a 2 on 2 game.

So, kj, dar, trivox. Are you interested in doing the last game in this challenge thingy, before they pull the plug?

Great idea
sorry about delay as school and baseball and soccer has us busy
and Locos too.
as for times usually week nights @ 7pm pacific are good except TBML and PS9 nights (Thursday and wed.)
after TBML might be ok 730pacific.
cant go too late due to homework and Mom factor.
weekends more flexible but varies week to week depending on our games(soccer, baseball)
I know your times are real different, so lets work together to make it happen.

@ Reagent X: Wow! That'd be awesome.

@ Dar/KJ/Trivox: Let's cooperate and find a time suitable for all of us. We can do it, I know we can do it. This'll be the most interesting game of my TT career!

Sunday, September 25, 2005 at 10:46:07 AM

The 2 on 2 challenge shouldn't die. It should just be left open and a server should be up for 2 on 2 challenges on the fly.
The results can be posted on here and that way we can avoid the worst part of playing organized TT...scheduling matches!
The current champs will be whomever wins the last match on any given day. The same thing should be done with the 3 on 3 challenges.
Keep it free form and this way there's no mess and no fuss. Just matches....many more matches and we can all take turns being teammates too.
Why should Tally, Reagent X and Lonewolf be the only ones who get to play on everyone else's teams? ;)

Btw. I figured that someone owes it to you, notifying that said game, wiz/triv vs. Dar/kj, won't take place. My partner doesn't seem interested in playing this game for some reason (I think it was due to an impaired Internet connection or somesuch). A pity it had to be me though, communicating this with you, since I've asked in multiple emails if the concerned player wouldn't mind letting the others on the forum know, whether we'd play or not.

Very well. No further griefs. Hejsan Svejsan (wiz & triv) is loosing by forfeit and acknowledges the dynamite brothers, KJ & Dar as the current grand super stomper champions in 2 on 2 scrum gaming!

Pai, my name is in your post why?

Saturday, October 01, 2005 at 10:35:59 PM

I couldn't play as I normally play that is why I'm not interested to play.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Doesn't look like it. But I think it would have been sort of cool if this thread didn't get locked, as was being discussed before. I think that 2-on-2 team scrum has come to stay, and that it definitely is a greatly enjoyable game form.

As a suggestion to how his could be kept alive - and still be fun (without being too demanding and time-consuming for the participants) - a choice of having some sort of ongoing ratio system would be cool.

I'm not the best mathematician, but maybe something like this is what I'm talking about: http://wolff.to/area/calcexp.html . It's a bit tricky searching on Google for good rating systems, but if somebody knows of any good resources out there, please fill us in.

Just an idea ,what if we organize 2v2 tournament ,16 or 32 teams. It's been long time since last one.
And than we can start challenge , with nice small maps :Allexander hill , Temporal Terrase, Sisu -land , Balletomania, Bolonia Pony...etc.Post your thoughts ,say what you think.

Couldn't we get any sponsors or something for this? I think, then people would be very fast in joining these things. Maybe somebody knows someone at some large company or something?

I think t-34 makes an excellent point about using some of the smaller maps for this. Now that we have many more maps, we should really pick them based on size.
