I downloaded Paradise Lost And IT doesnt seem to work for me
^ then start to enter, go get some ice cream and/ or popcorn, and watch that sukka... Stop at th very end for about five minuts. IT IS NOT FREEZING, JUST LOADING THINGS THAT AREN"T NORMALLY IN THE GAME... LIVE WITH IT! It only has to do it once!

Hi! I downloaded pre-dowload and its not opening, {is it normal my comp. Stops loading at end of datablocks? He's not getting at objects :'(

Once you have the map (the predownload) and it is installed in the missions folder join the game. The first time you do this there will still be a 5 min or so download (depending on the speed of your connection) as the objects need to load, its a big map with a lot of objects. You will only have to do this once so please be patient while it loads, leave it to run and get a coffee while its loading - it will load!! If you want to view the progress of a load on any mod download and install the download bar from Download Bar
Alternatively get the TT expansion pack, its a big download but again you only have to do this once then you will have all the objects installed on your machine for mine and everyone elses mods Napalm's Expansion Pack 2

Almost all the new mods have a download or pre-download.
Your missing out on allot of really nice mods.
And thats a shame.

Hi All
I will be running CTF all this week on Paradise Lost, any comments appreciated.
Also the map has been upgraded with more power up's, jump pads, arrows and teleporter rocks. Tanks speed and handling has also been improved.

Dazzle I have a question abiut making a mod on TGE. I have a MAC. I have made the mod and saved it. I have renamed it and when I open it on think tansk it says I don't have the correct version of TGE to open it. Have any ideas why this happens?
^ Not really sure, I am no expert, but try the following, however remember I use windows.
*** make sure that your data folder in TT is identical to the one in TGE *** (i.e all the shapes, skys etc are the in the same place)
1. Close TT
2. Open up TGE and load your MOD
3. Save the mod in TGE with a suitable name (Keep this name - do not change it)
4. Copy the.mis and.ter files you have just named from the TGE mission folder into your TT mission folder replacing any previous versions
5. Launch a dedicated server using the mission (MOD) name you saved the.mis as in 3
6. Relaunch TT and enter the server
I am not 100% sure this will solve your problem but give it a go, failing that post in the forum as someone else who rums a mac might be able to help more that me.

There is no new Pre-download as the new versions use the same terrain file as before (paradiselost.ter) available from here Paradise Lost Pre-Download
Just so you and other players know I have updated the server. There are 4 versions of the map which now run in a random rotation, Sunrise, Midday, Sunset, and Nightime.
There might be a short download when you join these new versions the first time if you dont have the skys installed from Napalm's X-Pack3, get it here Napalm's X-Pack 3
All Paradise lovers watch out for the new weapons pack for Paradise Lost comming soon............its power up up up :P
The new MOD (Paradise City) is comming along nicely although still a way to go yet but keep a look out for more details, hopefully should be finished by the end of Jan (fingers crossed) :S

Problem whit Parad. L. Sunrise : thereare 2 CTF flags... Bots are always trying to get the 2nd flag, but that flag is untakeable...

This is probably a dumb post, because I think you realize this, but...
That road datablock you are using as a bridge is not solid. Tanks fall right through it! So do you have terrain under them or what?

I know how to make a bridge out of terrain, just wondering if you made the road solid :).
^ I am aware you know how to use ther terrain for that purpose. The use of the set empty command in your city mod to create the bridge was very well done indeed. But I only have 6 terrains to make 5 maps so no the road is not solid, I have used another method to get across it :P
If only my business was not so busy I could get some more work done on the new MOD, but its comming thats for sure.........

Dazzle I have a question since I can't find this on a forum. In think tanks when u fall off the egde to die so when making a mod in TGE do u need to do something speacial so when u put it in TT the person dies if they fall of the egde or does TT put it in.
^^ Soon, good things come to those who wait, until then you are stuck with Paradise Lost, which by all accounts ain't thyat bad........ :P
@ Swift you need to set the floor height. That is the height upwards from the very bottom of the mod (i.e the lowest point) that the tank will die when it falls off the map, I think thats what you mean.
In the mission file it is shown here:
New MissionArea(MissionArea) {
area = "-1040 -1032 2352 2064";
flightCeiling = "200";
flightCeilingRange = "20";
floor = "55";
locked = "true";
In this example the floor is 55 meters up from the bottom. The value is often different for each mod. You can change this via the mission file but its easier to do it via TGE.
In TGE
Go to the window menu
select World Editor Inspector (F3)
Click the + sign at the top of the grey window that appears on the right side of the screen
Select Mission area
Select Expand All (lower part of the grey window)
And the box to enter the floor value is second from the bottom
Enter the value you want and click Apply
The floor will now be set and the tank will die at this level when it goes off the map.
Remember to save the mission
During creation of your mod you will have set the fog height levels (F3 Sky), I find the easiest way to get the floor value you want is to set it a little under the upper height value of the fog.

Thanx that really helps but I only have one problem. My mod is saved in the missions foler of TGE but when I go to open mission is doesn't show up. Know why this happens. Also with the example u gave above you say there is an floor in mission area but in th mission area there is not area box

^ when you save in TGE you must put.mis after the name like
Swiftsnewmod.mis
If the mission file name is not like this then it will not show up on the TGE list when you tryto open it. If you have renamed it without the.mis at the end just rename it through windows, as you would with any other file.
You cannot see the floor (its just called that). It is, if you like, an invisible layer that is a certain distance up from the bottom of TGE where the tank dies.
Example - if the map height is 300 from the bottom of TGE set the floor to 275 from the bottom. That way when the tank goes off the map it will be killed when it falls to 275.
