Hello, I'm relatively new to this game. Even though I've been playing for two months, I don't know all the details about how the online game works.

Lately I've noticed that I cannot get into mod terrains. Like Rooster(c)'s, and Flight and all those other ones. (I forget the specific names but I can look them up if you need the information).

I just got into one of the games, took me ten minutes. Does it usually take that long to load? Sorry if this is a dumb question ^^;;

Signed,

Hi Zenigata. Welcome to PTT. :)

A lot of people have that problem. For online games the mission file gets downloaded from the master server and it tells ThinkTanks where to put everything. If the mission file says "use x file", and the game doesn't have it, you'll have to wait for the game to download it.

It can be slow sometimes, but if you wait, you'll get everything you need and the next time you enter that mod it will load normally. If you look through the modding forum, a lot of people will post terrains and other files that you can download and install yourself. It's much faster.

Here's a link to Dash's Terrains

Here's a handy link if you'd like to see what you're downloading. Never Stopping Download Bar

Hope that helps.

Good mods that have new objects or datablocks or new terrrain shape and design, usually take a few to 30 minutes to download, depending on how big and new the mod is, and what type of computer you have. It will be much faster if you download the files and place them correctly, but the files can be automatically placed in the right place just by waiting in game.
