That is cool Triv, I'm going to do it now. This will help people know they are not just stuck and that something is happening
Nice job!!! I'm definetly using this!
Un-capitalize the 1st letter of every sentence. Stupid auto-capitalization.
Awesome work Triv, this will really help a lot of impatient people me being one of them. :P
Ahem,
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot
:)
Hehe........ I've been doing that for the past two days, I was checking the realm wars script when I figured it out. Good job triv, you beat me to it. ;)
Wow it works yes triv very nice job
I would like to let you all know, that I'm pretty sure this only effects YOUR GAME, not the clients joining your server.
It only effects your game.
Thanks Spunky for clearing that up. Forgot that silly auto-capitalizator.
And yes, its client sided. Thought im pretty sure people understanted that anyway.
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
I wouldn't be so sure triv. Lol.
@Triv
So you're talking to me again? I thought you were giving me the cold shoulder.
Most Very Excellent Triv
"BUMP"
Another way too reduce download time is to
preload the terrains
According to Nathan the game servers only download at 5 kbs
Man thats like dialup speed but if more modders would
email terrains to -z- then we could preload quickly from PTT in a Heartbeat!!!
***Cut the Lag***
Spread the word
Am currently sending -z- terrains from dash that will
play MODASH and Roosters Realms games
Thks again 4 download manager script
Roo
Does it only work when you are downloading something new. :o
Yeah intruder. It wont show up if you just join to some shockwave server. But it will show up if you join to a modded server which uses objects/terrain/sky which you dosent have.
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
What about if you put that in your.mis file.....Would it show it to everyone else???
Does it work on Mac?
Gj triv

Edit:
On dash's new scrum server I waited and finally got all the files and joined. How come every game AFTER that it still takes forever to load?

TaKeNoPrIsOnErSs did you change Function to function, because its needs to be written with small f.
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
Its like this racer, you forgot!
}
// ModWizard
exec("game/server/scripts/ModWizardMain.cs");
if (!$Server::Dedicated) {
moveMap.bindCmd(keyboard, "m", "", "exec("game/client/scripts/ModWizardBindings.cs");");
}

Heres a little different one that some others might like better:
Function onFileChunkReceived(%file, %ofs, %size)
{
loadingProgress.setValue(%ofs / %size);
loadingProgressTxt.setValue(" " @ %size - %ofs @ " kb left");
}
just make all of the begining letters lowercased, and that will tell you how much of the file is left to download. :)
NEVER STOPPING THREAD! XD
This was like in page 4 and Bumped to page 1 again...then it will happens again...and again again! :P

Have you ever joined to a mod server and your downloading bar stops suddenly? You have no idea what you are downloading and the loading bar just sits in one place.
Here are cure for you, if you dont like that. The loading bar will never stop to sit again and it will show what you are downloading and to where.
You need to open up main.cs file which is located in your ThinkTanks folder. It can be done with any text editor( example Notepad, Textpad, UltraEdit, etc...). After you have opened the main.cs file up scroll to end of the file and add this code to there.
Function onFileChunkReceived(%fileName, %ofs, %size)
{
LoadingProgress.setValue(%ofs / %size);
LoadingProgressTxt.setValue(" " @ %fileName @ "...");
}
After you added that to end of main.cs file, save changes and shut text editor down.
Heres a picture what it looks like in action.
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
