Where are all the moderators in this time of crisis?

I think it's now time to elect some new moderators. The old ones never seem to do anything!

I vote for Bolo, Nathan, and Master TMO as new moderators!

Yes, he does need to be banned.
However, no offense, but the team killer list thread is really what kicked this all up. I knew that thread was going to be trouble when I saw it, but I refrained from commenting at the time. A word of advice from us ol' timers: any thread that singles out someone for bad behavior will almost ALWAYS invite even worse behavior by said individual. When dealing with a childish mind, picking on them will make them throw huge tantrams. It's just one of those basic rules. Trust me on that.

Now, that said , -z-, Pokemalo, Dan or anyone else- BAN THIS FOOL!

Imagine having to post your message and wait, sometimes for several hours, for a moderator to check it before allowing it on?

Obviously now, they check posts after posted for problems. Shifting like that can be boring once but imagine doing it four or five days in a row!

How bout a posted list of no-no's? Obscene language and pics? Level 10 flaming and spamming limits?

What good would this do? Make it easier for limits to be known and relief moderators to give you a break...?

PS: I got a vested interest in instant posting because I have this bad habit of working on a post then doing something else, then going back to the post, then doing something else... Multi tasking problem. Meh.

I understand that it takes time, but I'm surprised at the lack of moderating that's been going on here.

Moderators are for the "worst case" scenarios. We are just regular PTT members, not the paid gestapo, so we are not always inclined to peruse EVERY thread at EVERY hour. Frankly, if someone starts a sour thread and nobody "feeds the troll" with replies, than the thread will quickly fall to the back of the queue without needing any help from the Mods.

I do occasionally clean up a post or two, but I'm really a supporter of free speech. I usually just remove bad language and yank out any overly-insulting posts. I think its sad that some people spend time to post worthless threads, but I also think it isn't too much trouble to ignore the dumb posts.

I suppose we could "tighten up security" around here, but that has its own backlashes. How much is America enjoying its "tightening" of security?

However, $Þ®m, your character attacks and insults are getting tiring and are becoming as desirable as spam. We don't need to know who you don't like and we certainly don't need the insults. Just talk about the game and friends, or you'll eventually lose the ability to talk. 'nuff said.

Hello guys. Sorry for the delays. Thanks to Lonewolf for emailing me repeatedly :P

Obviously we the moderators are busy with our lives. We cannot be chasing morons all day! %)

'Sperm' obviously has some uselessness around here, and some language issues. I deleted a few threads and a few posts, and just emailed -z- to recommend banning him. Sorry Sperm, but it's a community decision. I don't care about you, but now I must!

It's a difficult decision since the line is quite fine. Should morons be banned? Should someone doing only inane but 'funny' posts be banned? Should people with no writing skill and no positive contribution be banned? We do not want to be too severe. We can only act when it's obviously malevolent.

The new restrictions applied to new members also is a good way to limit the damages, re. # of posts and threads.

You must know too that a banned tanker can reincarnate under a new identity - creating an endless supply of 'to-be-banned' for -Z-. Like the fabled Hydra... You cut one head, another grows.

FYI guys and girls, only the mighty -Z- has access to the 'Banning Member Power-Up'. Moderators cannot ban anyone. We can only delete posts and threads, or lock the latters.

No problem, but that was only the ones that had the repeated Lick ------. There's a whole bunch more if you want to go thru em all, but I know ya don't... Just trust us all on this :)

Perhaps. Just don't expect the Moderators to always react to anything unfavorable. Too much moderation can make the situation turn really sour. Remember that the TT Police were made with good intentions, but ended up being way too much of a good thing in the end. On that note, a little extra help would be nice. I don't have as much time as I used to.

More people available to moderate would be nice, but then you do run the risk of TO MUCH moderation. I think in a case like this, yeah, EVERYONE wants him gone, so give him the boot. I don't want someone constantly hitting "DELETE" "DELETE" "DELETE" at every slip of the toungue though.

Why doesn't anyone ban DESTROYER he acts like more of an ass than me.(And he is canadian you seen terrance and phillip from south park what language they use............he is exactly the same)
He is more dispicable than me and before worrying about me why don't you do your job and ban DESTROYER....no1 ever does anything about him he always gets let off.

What one does during TT games is one thing, what they do on PTT is another. Here we ban for PTT conduct.

Not sure how you all feel about me but I offer my services to be a Moderator. I am hear a lot and in tt so I know who to watch, in fact I do it a lot when I see a person on tt I look for them hear to see what they are up to. I am also hear on PTT at least 5 -6 times a day do to leagues and army things. Ask LilAlienD (FU) he can tell you I will show no favors but I do think we need more Moderators B)

-z- does not want to get his site blocked by a childproof web-filter. We are well aware of Destroyer's foul mouth within games. However, we don't have jurisdiction over what is said in game, only what is posted on PTT.

I say that we set moderators up as salaried employees.

I must say that the admins and moderators are all great people but I hardly see any of them on the forumns or in-game (except jb sometimes)
