Has anyone seen Burnsey lately? I think anon drove him away. LOL... Well I don't know that for sure, but the last time I saw him was in a server with Anon, and anon was just drilling him verbally. It was pretty hard core man... If he did decide to quite the game after that, I wouldn't blame him... But it sucks that we lost such a great scrummer and member of this community.

Burnsie is a regular visitor to the Frantic Slug where solid play, good sportmanship and dumb jokes are always in evidence, as are and many other skilled players.

SLUGGY!! Well for one, I hardly ever see the Frantic Slug running anymore :( It's dissapointing. Anyway…

Would you be ok with making your Anti-Diving and Anti-Freebie scripts available for some "Grudge Match" games? Specifically the 3 on 3 tournament to play 'The Champs' that's getting started.

Burnsey is not Bolo, Burnsey has been around at least as long as I have and Bolo just started playing I think it was October or November last year. Besides, when I saw Burnsey and Anon together that day, Burnsey was accusing Anon of being Hanksta. Which shows that Burnsey doesn't check the forums that often. Bolo know's Anon is not Hanksta.

Actually I saw him in a server the other day, I was playing as "Scrum King" and I dubbed him the evil Emperor and arch enemy to my Royal Family. XD LOL XD

There was also someone playing as Scrum Queen and someone else playing as Scrum Prince. That was actually kind of funny. XD

@Sluggy, I wish you hosted Indi scrum, you'd probably find me in your server more often. ;)

No scripts will be needed for those matches due to the fact there are no rules. Sorry guys but that is the way the Champs play so we need to play that way and being they are the Champs they make the rules ! B)

I would still like them for availability for other matches. I like the idea of reducing the luck factor, simply for the people that like to whine and complain about this or that when they lose. Not naming names, but there's a couple people in particular that like to do this.

Sorry to revive this old thread but there's something about Burnsey I need to talk to you guys about. He's probably going to retire the name because of a small bunch of jerks that go around slandering him just because they're jealous and can't beat him in scrum.

Burnsey and I were tarring it up last night and two guys came in with slanderous versions of Burnsey's name. Then another guy came in using Burnsey's name making obscene remarks. Apparently, this happens every time he goes online as Burnsey. How freaking childish!

In fact, because of those jerks, I think he's already changed his name and stopped talking to people. Thats pretty MESSED up man!

I, too, saw this the other night, with "Burnsieblowsboys" etc, it was horrid how they treated him, but he was real cool and just took them for a private fan club and kept playing. I know who the people are, but for their sake, I will resist the temptation to release their screen name, but if I see anything more of that sort I will not hold back.

I'm going to try to recruit burnsey to team up with me in the next 3 on 3. We won't need a thrid... I believe the two of us could dethrone the champs by ourselves, but if we were to take a thrid... It would probably be MESS. Oh, wait...

Burnsey's not a good guy? You obviously haven't had the pleasure of getting to know the side of Burnsey that I have gotten to know. I've known him from the beginning. He's been around at least as long as I have, and I've been around longer than most.

He's a VERY talented scrummer. Might've gotten a little cocky and arrogant at times, but lets face it... So have all of us at one point or another. As far back as I can remember, he's always been a good sport, and even better competitor. He's not a sore looser, he's not a sore winner, (and he does win most of the time). If you've observed otherwise, it was probably either because someone gave him a dam good reason to be pissed off, or it was an imposter.

I for one would team up with him in a heart beat. Don't even have to think about it...

Gotta agree with Stealth. Never had a problem with Burnsie. He's been around a LONG time and has always been top 10 player in my book -- an OT (original tankster). Like spony and djbreaka.

I've never had a problem with him either (and have enjoyed beating him on ocassion), but I have seen him lose his cool too often. Maybe it's because he was being harrassed...who knows. All I remember is seeing him BM tons of tanks not even close to the flag and insulting inferior players. There is such a thing as winning with class and dignity and not rubbing it in people's faces (look up 44, memphis, blind cide and you will see what I mean).

Still, you are right, he has skills. But talent alone is not what makes a complete player.

So much hatin' goin' on, y'all need to refresh.

As a out sider on this matter I see both sides have a point ! I will not pick sides. I am asking as a Moderator is it possible to except that you both disagree on this matter. After all we all have the right to freedom of speach to a degree but at the same time we also have the right to disagree with each other. I know most of us take this game to serious at times, I am just as guilty as the rest of the people here. What I am asking you 2 to do is step back and take a few seconds to calm down. If you 2 can not agree at least agree to disagree on this matter and leave it at that. I just don't want this to get ugly & I fear it is heading that way real fast.

What is Rogue's point? He just seemed to insult me and make no valid or constructive criticism. He thinks my opinions of others are dopey, so be it. I am entitled to my opinion, but I wouldn't be as mean and nasty as he was towards me (unless provoked!)! I said nothing offensive about him, so I don't understand his hostility. The only explanation is that he has always had some ill will towards me for something in the past, such as my threads about the best players and maybe I didn't include him, so he feels slighted. My lists/posts were NEVER meant to be all-inclusive and I always made that clear. I only gave samples of players that I respected and considered excellent players. There is no way anyone could make a perfect all-inclusive list!!

Also, I've only played the game for 9 months (since March 2004) and I did use a lot of aliases, but I didn't HIDE behind them as some do.
I almost always revealed who I was! Also, I've used my name more and more as time went by.

I'm done with this guy. I will ignore him from now on (I kind of did anyway after all of the soap opera junk he put everyone thru recently).

Thanks 44. My point exactly. I mean, he could disagree with me vehemently (as many here have) and I wouldn't mind that at all, but it was the way he did it that got under my skin. Stealth disagreed with me totally, but he didn't dis the pai man. Maybe I'm wrong about Burnsie. Wouldn't be the first time. I wish I never stepped into this pile of dog excrement. Who really gives a flip anyway about any of this? 150,000 souls were lost recently and we're wasting time arguing over nothing.

I enjoy playing against Burnsie. When my skills were fewer I resented his unconstrained shooting in indie scrum. He never seems to target anyone in particular, so I just do the same to him when I play him now.

Here's the catch 44. I don't even know Burnsie.I've never even said a word to him or vice versa. I do enjoy the way he battle scrums. To me it's a blast. Paisano's initial comments could be compared to somebody using your name in a game and me coming on here talking about how 44 is a complete chump. When the admin codes first came out I busted the same dude many times over a series of months using my name. The funny thing is I never told him. I only told the hosts and other admins of the servers. It made me laugh. This guy made some people loathe me. Heh.

If you think my comments on here are blunt you should see my wife's forehead. Heh.

Paisano went from thinking Burnsie was Bolo and then me. I admit I took advantage of that to goof on him in order to show how ridiculous his suspicions and comments are. In a public server you never can be sure of who is who, yet people still come on here and pout about how so and so is a real ninny. It is funny though.

There are a few players out there, including Burnsie, that always have an excuse. Most of these players seem to be good people and I enjoy playing with them, but they are not always the best sportsmen (IMO). We all win and lose. But if you feel it is necessary to always have to come up with excuses why you didn't score or why you didn't come in first place then that means you feel you have too much to prove. And to feel that you have to prove anything to anybody in this simple little video game is pretty sad (again IMO). Just play the game, don't take it so seriously and have fun GDI! ;)

Thanks Kissinger....er...44. You are a good peace keeper. I've deleted my posts too. I respect that Rogue decided to take the high road.
I guess we all just misunderstood each other. I was not commenting on one or two isolated experiences with Burnsie, but rather over a dozen games against him and his playing style (for lack of a better term) was always the same: BM like crazy, hang near the goal and swoop in for the score like a vulture. (Very similar to MESS and the old Scotty). MonkeeMan described Burnsie perfectly. He said what I wanted to say. Not only the way he plays, but all of the excuses he makes when you beat him! It's so frustrating. Why can't he just accept defeat like a man and congratulate someone for having a better game or day? (again, 44, memphis, blind cide, monkeeman, all do this graciously). Other vets do the same thing..blame lag, teammates, the weather, their hardware, what they ate, drank, etc. Etc. As an example, the last time we played, I had a great game and won by a large margin over Burnsie and KillinBrainCells. KBC was his usual classy self and showered me with praise for all of the great goals I scored, but Mr. Bitter merely complained about everything and couldn't even type gg. Poor sport indeed.

Anyway, I would never judge someone on an isolated incident! Especially a well-known well-liked player like 44. For example, someone recently impersonated me (for whatever reason) and acted like a real butthole (I was told). Well, I was also told that the vets just knew it was not the real paisano (the clown didn't even know how to put a registered mark in his name) and didn't assume it was me. I appreciated hearing that. I give all other vets the same benefit of the doubt. We all should.

Rogue made a good point about never knowing who we're playing on public servers. That's why I like what the admins of private servers are doing.
They are comparing ip addresses with names of bad eggs and banning them once and for all. Someday, the same can be done on public servers.
