Should I stay hosting them or pull them of?
personal I like the idea. The demoservers are fully admitted by me (thx to ArtCrazy's AdminScript!)
I just want to know or I got to host them, or pulling them of the list.

It may keep demo's happy, but only as long as you do not make it a mod. And I would not name it demo server. I thought of something like this before, but it was looked down upon because of the license agreement.

Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.

Dude, everyone has to start out new. You shouldn't generalize. Only hate the Demos and new guys how are being jerks...I've played a few DEMOs recently who were pretty decent fellows.

I really have no opinion on the matter though. It could go either way. If I encounter a player I dislike, I'll leave the server and go to an admin'ed mod. For now I guess I'll vote in favor of the server.

Yes every1 has to start out somewhere we just show the DEMOS how TT would be great if they bought the full version.

I vote for demo server.

When life gives you lemons find a kid with a paper cut.
Ed appears: He combo attacks with paper cut you suffer 5 HP with added attack lemons on wound you suffer 50 HP you die......

LGM

Sounds like a good idea to me. I played as a DEMO for months before buying...

How about setting up a message that centerprints every few minutes? Something like this:

"Having fun? The full version is only $19.95!"

Then, after a few more minutes...

"Buy the full version and enter all the servers DEMOs can't join."

Come up with more or better ones. Make it a place they can play in, but they get nudged toward purchasing TT.

Keep in mind the game would be dead with no new blood. For every one jerk that refuses to buy the game there's 6 demos that are trying the game out for the first time to see if they like it.

Here's an old thread about hosting Mods with some comments by the creator of this game.
Hosting New Terrain Mods

PokeMalo

A demo joined my new terrain server last night, and I quote his exact words: "Wow, I can't wait to get the full version, I want to make and host my own mods!" Is that hurting sales?

This is the exception, not the rule. For every one person excited by the modding, there are probably ten who go to join a server, see the dialog.. Wait.. Think the game has crashed, quit, and leave, thinking bad things of thinktanks and of bravetree. This is not a demand.. Just a request.. Please help us by placing MOD in front of the name and by hosting it as a team game. Trust us when we say that hosting them as non team and not putting MOD in fornt of the name is hurting us, not helping us.

Again, we did not see a huge spike in sales with the onset of modding (if anything there was a slight drop). We have seen increased support requests. Modding is not helping us a great deal, but it is costing us. We want to support the modding community, all we ask is that you help us so that we are more inclined to help you. We don't want things to get so bad that the next update turns MODs off.

Okay maybe I am a bit mean. I am srriy fer tat. Buuuuuut I was a demo once and wasnt much better. I only said tat thinkin of some demos I keep meetin goin haywire and cussin, keep BMing. And when some1 explains wut their doin is wrong they keep doin it. I like the demos that act innocently. I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally like LGM's idea. I wont be a critic so here is a good name I thought of. How 'bout this "Demos can buy the game only for 19.95

Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 8:23:37 AM
