Hello all!

Well I got my router installed and I am having some problems... :o

In the past, when I didn't have the router, everybody could see my server. But now with this router, they canno't see the server no longer. :S

I don't want to take the router off, because we need it for the second comp that we have. So is their any way that I could fix this problem, with the router installed? :o

Thank you all, and have a great day. ;)

Your router most likely has a built-in firewall. I can't help because I don't know what routher you have and I don't know much about changing security settings on a PC.

The router by default is a firewall. You'll need to change the settings for it.

Type http://192.168.0.1 into your browser. It will take you to your router. When it asks for your name and password, type in ADMIN for name and leave password blank. Once in your router, there's a couple things to look for.

Port 28000 needs to be open, or use the DMZ setting. It puts a computer outside the router's firmware firewall. If you do that, make sure to use your computer's software to set up a firewall.

Don't know if any of these will help, but here's a couple threads I found.

Try a google search for instructions on how to change the settings for your router's mfg. & model number.

Well your router might not be http://192.168.0.1/ , check the instructions that came with the router as it might be some other ip address.
on ports to open, open 28000 thru 28010 because if 28000 is in use then TT will automagically try running on 28001, then 28002,..., 28010
On the other matters KBC is right. Additionally it is important to familiarize yourself with the proper operation of your firewall/router. They are all a little different. Read all the documentation that came with it or that is available from the manufacturers website.

Sam

On some routers you have to tell the "trigger type". This will be a TCP or UDP selection. [b][IMPORTANT:/b] set to UDP. Otherwise it will not work.
