Please read the statements below
I would like to change the way the games are hosted.
Each team will be responsible for hosting their own HOME games.

I am looking for hosters to host games for those who do not have hosting capabilities.
I don't beleive this league has the luxury of looking for the perfect server. We need to just get the games played.

Captains, Please let me know you plans to get the missed games rescheduled and played.
Contact me if you need a server.

Oh dear. So that's where the Rats are hiding... I was just wondering.

Monday, September 19, 2005 at 8:07:16 AM

Please remove Shrike and Coolboy as they have not made a match yet. Coolboy has to get to bed for school before these matches begin. Shrike has not shown up yet this season nor has Marmot. We always have 4 for a match so take it easy on us, the champs. (forgotten) This is week 4 and we have not had our first match yet.

Is anyone ever going to update the rankings?? Curious as to why it seems that PSL is always more organized, and seems to run more smoothly??

^ Supra will be out of town for a couple of days. In the meanwhile, I suggest that Stan (who seems to be very nifty with numbers) or anyone else who is savvy in Excel or somesuch do this, until Supra is back. The rankings and scores ought to be brought up-to-date to keep everyone informed.

The TBML 5 scoring formula, as I know it (correct me if I'm wrong) is:

Step 1.) Add first game's score to second game's score = [Score]
Step 2.) [Score] divided by [Overall Scores] = [X]
Step 3.) [X] multiplied with 4 = [Y]
Step 4.) Add 0.25 to [Y]
Step 5.) Finally, cumulatively add [Y] to the score from the previous week to get the new week's score.

Supra said that the teams that have games unplayed, will be awarded scores equally to those of a split game. That is, until they are played. Granted, if they do play the games, the split scores will be replaced with the new ones.

Monday, September 19, 2005 at 9:19:55 PM

I guess I'll possibly take control of this, but only if no one else is willing to do it.

What's the score of TPC - PR?
There seems to be 4 games that have not been played yet. 3 games with BOP and 8W - TPC. Is that right?

Wonders only need to make up 1 game
The standings board is not up to date
And I believe that Supra has us making up that game next week
At least the schedule reflects a double with the later game being
the rematch.

@ Delta,

I believe that Rabban deleted my post because he thought it was inappropiate, and now looking back at it, so do I. Sometimes it amazes why we do things at the spare of the moment, and somehow regret it later. I guess boys will be boys.

PS I'm looking forward to meeting you in game.

Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 4:29:59 PM

@ Delta,

I am interested to know who will be playing this weeks game from your team. Like most teams in this comp. You guys have depth which is always a problem for an opposing side.

The only weak link I see in you team is............ (insert name here Delta)... LOL..J/K.

SSMe

PS:- Don't think I won't be targeting you if I get to play. :)

Yah I'm still a noob in TBM, but I'm learning real quick.

Please do shoot at me I hate winning by default, I'm performance all the way girl. ;)

@all,

Rats will be changing to a new home map, MM21, will be making changes to it soon, but for now will use the existing stock map.

Ok dokey

Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 3:12:44 PM

@ Lep,

Do you think that a new map will increase TDR's chance of winning more games?? Third time lucky map??

I think the reason you guys are "experiencing" problems as a team is that you guys spend too much talking when you play TT, which cloggs up your internet connection. I mean there is only so many times you can say.. "F*#&K", and other nice words before it jams the good old internet connection.

SSMe

PS:- Best way to jam TDR systems is to page them while they play games... LOL!!!!! Nothing better that pop ups... Really sets the men from the boys.... MUHAHAHA!!!

Yes always evil and twisted!!!!

Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 5:25:24 PM

As an fyi - TDR has yet to use any voice chat during league play.

Additionally, this is the second map - for whatever reason D5 was not loading for many of us. I do not think we have experienced this problem with any of the other maps.

Dash has told me that "it" is troublesome/annoying. His reference was to the above poster.

Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 5:55:19 PM

Darn and here I was getting ready to tell every one who is not playing tonight to spam TDR's emails from 9:30pm EST until 10pm EST XD

Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 6:00:37 PM

TDR and HA ,

On TDR original home map, it finally worked so we will keep it unless there is a problem in future, if so we will revert to mm21..

Anywho good games both sessions, games were close and well fought well done to both sides

1st game score

TDR 42 HA 38

2nd game score

TDR 50 HA 46

Ok for next week , can someone contact me from Euro-rage so we can set up the logistics? Thanxs

@ The Pernicious Carbuncles:

It was a good game all!!! Unfortunately the only thing that let you guys down was the lack of 1 player, and Bigiron's Mid-Second lag disappearance.

I would like to thank alcohol for making the game more interesting!!!! I began with a six pack 10 minutes before the game, and just as the game began, and only two beers left, things started to get more interesting.

All of a sudden everyone was good looking, even that Hairy Monkey, and my skills, well they still sucked but I guess that everyone knows that.

I guess the alcohol is still kicking in, as I seem to be speaking about nothing. Story of my life.

SSMe....

PS:- Anyone got the number for Alcoholics Anonymous???

Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 7:54:18 PM

ATTN ALL HOSTERS
On the TDR home field D5 you must change the command line for the sky
Open the mission in notepad or equivilent
and change this line from

MaterialList = "game/data/skies/sky_storm.dml";
to
materialList = "game/data/skies/sky_day.dml";

As I stated in previous posts this is the reason some ppl had trouble
If you don't preload the sky you may not get in
And this small change insure that all can enter

Anyone got the number for Alcoholics Anonymous???

Oh no you don't. No 12-step program for you. We need you dangerously intoxicated.

Great game last night Carbuncles. You guys played great and showed a lot of heart, carrying on when you were shorthanded two players while BigIron was disconnected. Good game.

Scores last night were 58-46 and 58-41, both for IS. I'll get some screenies up at lunch time.

Gg all last night!!! There are bound to be some excellent matches coming up this season. I think everyone will show up more or less now (yes I showed up finally...). GG Nuts, CB, NIko, Gamera, and last but not least, lagacy (legacy(st)/warlock), and all of Roo's team for a good time.

Friday, September 23, 2005 at 7:45:17 AM

Are we still in first place? B)

But turrents up to the Carbuncles, for sticking in there (at one point with only 3 tanks) and not calling the game. Lesser teams would have quit. They really embodied the "Never give up" attitude and "From Hell's Heart, I spit at thee!" ;)

I'm not sure if it ever got into the rules, but Supra mentioned to me by the phone, that if one of the teams can't manage to have a full team, the other team would preferably take out one man, so that the game is played out on a fair basis. That was the intended scenario, IF the team being short of players would -at least- be able to field 4 people. Whereas, if they could only field 3, the team with a full player line-up should not be obligated to reduce its amount of players to 3 as well. In the latter scenario, I don't fully recall what our commisioner said would be the exact ruling, but most logical to me would be to let the full team win both games and then calculate the scores by some of those nifty Dash-algorithms.

Anyways, in this case, the short manned team -was- able to get 4 players into play - before the game started - and therefore the full team should have reduced its amount of players to the same of the other team's (4 players).

@Wiz

We spent a good 15 minutes with the Carbuncles on that server before the game started. Despite some really fun play, there wasn't much in the way of real communication. My assumption was that another PC player was coming. I even asked at one point if another player was coming, but nobody answered.

Then au said "Game on at restart?" and I said okay. Nobody asked us to go down to four players. I assumed that it was because they were still expecting somebody else to show up any minute.

It was a little surprising to me that nobody else showed for them. Going with four was their decision, though, not mine.

Supra's email last week said:

We are having some problems with teams fielding five. In the spirit of fair play, especially if you have 6-8 players showing, try and be willing to play 4 v 4 for teams that cannot field five.

I'd have been more than willing to have somebody sit (most likely myself, seeing as my ping on that server was 150, as it was the last time we used it) but nobody asked.

As for BigIron getting disconnected for a while in the second game, that was definitely unfortunate. I'm not sure what happened. I think he said something about the power going out.

Still, I once again have to give the Carbuncles credit for continuing in the face of adversity. They're a true class act and have a lot of heart, even if they are oppressing a noble heavy and keeping him from his own people. XD

As for the scoreboard and rankings page, me and Stan could take care of it.

Just make sure that you change the link for the rankings up in your header. Click this link and copy its address and replace your old link for the 'Current Rankings' with this one and you're done:

I think TDR will be able to play this Sunday, 2pm EST. Lep is out of town for a bit...I have emailed him to confirm. My understanding is that it's 4v4, so please let me know if this is not the case. I will send everyone an actual email once I get confirmations from the rest of my team. Thought I would throw this out there to keep people in the loop.

Hey SK, chill out, don't get so defensive. I like both spain and australia. All fine with me. Back to the game.

Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 6:24:28 PM

@ Prof
There's no "understanding" as to 4 on 4. Whatever number of players you can assemble, we will match - we have always done this, even before it became a rule. Game time at 2:00 PM EST is fine. Email wiz with confirmation as soon as it's a sure thing.

Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 6:35:04 PM

AO has said 3pmEST will work better...I will email wiz tomorrow. The "understanding" was from an email...I read it wrong. I assumed it would be 5v5.
