Hi guys and gals! By some coincidence I stumbled in on http://artpad.art.com/artpad/painter/ . I made a painting there and afterwards I thought that it would be cool if we had an art contest!! So here is my contribution to it!

---> The deadline for this contest is [b]April 30th <---

Here are the rules:

> You can only participate in this contest with ONE painting.

> Everyone who is voting, shall vote for their favorite painting in every category. There are 3 categories:

- Category #1 is 'Most Beautiful and/or Skillful work'
- Category #2 is 'Most Expressive and/or Original work'
- Category #3 is 'Most Valueable and/or Appealing 'Message'

> You can not vote for a painting made by yourself.

:P That's it folks! Just Go For It!!

NEWS: I just decided to change the rules so that you can actually participate in the contest with more than one painting! I thought this would be best since there seems to be a really creative enthusiasm going on here. ;)

Ok. Here are my votes. Phew... The voting was indeed much tougher than I thought it would be.

Anyway. These are my votes:

Category 1: MonkeeMan / http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?ienm4vgmbqk
Category 2: daisy duke / http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?ievh1m16mnx0
Category 3: OM / http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?iewfb6q9la4 (Nebula) BUT (!!! Read below about my troubles voting in this category!)

For category 3, I sat with these two paintings in front of me. I sat for maybe 5 minutes with two browser windows open; one showing (and playing) OM's painting and the other one showing (and playing) DrSawbones lovely landscape in sunset painting. I cry for DrSawbones image, I really do, because it touches my heart. But then again, OM's painting touches another part of my heart. I finally decided upon choosing OM's, since that one symbolizes the direction I want humanity to go.

But, to not forget the message and the emanating warmth that DrSawbones painting brings me, I pictured within my mind, that if you go where OM's images shows, you finally arrive where DrSawbones image depicts...!!! :P

Yes, is hard to vote: actually is hard for me to get a list of all participants and stay connected long enough to post something or gallery the images...(whaaaa).
I like some of the TT paintings, they are so comical. But, there's no category for that really. I just cannot say...
I think wiz for his use of negative space rendering and compositional motion (cat 1)
I think the really complex and abstract perscpective think tanks scheme with all the notes and killing motion and such, goal maybe?...looks like a treasure map or something for cat 2. (I tried drawing a tank it was really hard!)
I think that red and black thing I saw for cat 3. (like sunset thru leaves was it's title or something maybe wrong here)
Sorry I'm late on this have been having lots of connection failures....booooooooo!

ALLRIGHT! WE HAVE OUR WINNERS IN THE FIRST SEASON OF THE THINKTANKS ART CONTEST!

First of all, on behalf of everyone that has been involved in this little 'contest' - THANKS to all of you, for the GREAT contributions!!

It's been a real pleasure to not only view the final results, but also to see the very processes that's been going on in your minds. I think this can actually be a fine way of adding yet another dimension in getting an impression of who every individual of us might be and the essence and credo in us all.

Even if there has actually been a majority of landscape-based images, in all of those motifs one can perceive certain nuances that are unique to every person that has been doing them.

For further interest in making a similar event, say, perhaps ThinkTankers Art Contest - Season 2 %) , a better idea as of the format of the 'contest' would be to instead making it fit into a much shorter time window and perhaps even make it a non-contest event, i.e. No 'winners', just contributors...? The concept is open for discussions.

But anyway :P. Allow me to present the proud winners!..... %)
