I think the PSL9 thread should be made on the same week the final of PSL8.5 starts.

Because it takes a week to organise it properly so the week after PSL8.5 finishes PSL9 will start

Any initial thoughts of day of week and time ho? I may be over my sabbatical from league play. Not sure but im entertaining the thought.

Something needs to be added about teams stalling when they are way a head ! I am talking up by 7 or more points ! In one case tonight they were up 13 - 2 and they were stalling ! To me that is Poor Sportsmanship ! :(

So teams should just dive right into a team camp and not wait for their friends?

Stalling just requires a special strategy in response.

The official maximum # of players in server setup for league should be at least the # of players/team X 2. This would allow captains to get their whole team in to assess connection qualities.

So once PSL8.5 is over, or in the playoff's.

Someone should start an official PSL9 Thread !

Here's my ideal: PSL 9 becomes a 3 vs. 3 league. Teams are formed by themselves. The league would consist of 16 teams with two conferences. You play each team once in your conference and top two teams from each make playoffs. Two weeks of playoffs. Bam. Boom. Bong. PSL 9, starts and finishes in 9 weeks.

Some of the games will be very predictable , and how about 4 teams from each conference makes to play offs 8o

Is there a way in which we could simply randomize teams?

Here's an even more idiotic thought by me. We get 16 captains. The other 32 players are given a number from 1-32. Each captain picks two numbers not knowing who they would get. Heck you could even pick the capts randomly. We'd obviously need a 3rd party to assign the numbers and tell us who we picked. Folks in the reserve pool would also be assigned a number, if more than one. Or, since it's totally random we nix the uneven games. For instance, if team A can only field two players, team B must also play with two. I know, it's not fair to those that show up, but aren't many matches played undermanned regardless? This is more of a league for the Utopians out there. Those that just want to play and don't get all bitter when they lose.

Heh, another edit to my post. Here goes. Since there would only be 7 weeks to the regular season, we make week 8 be held for makeup games.

Just kicking out ideas to shake things up. I'm not saying this is the way I demand things be. That job has already been taken by my wife.

Tis a fine idea, I just think that would thin the line between a tournament and a league a bit too much. That said, do we really have to wait until 2006 for the next tournament? Or is it two a year...

I dont like the idea of changing PSL9 into a 3 v 3 league !

PSL's are PSL's not 3v3. If you want a 3v3 league make one, dont change PSL into a 3v3

Don't get me wrong, these are just ideas. I like PSL just fine. I'm simply catering to the "same old, same old" posts I've seen over the past few months.

Yea, ive seen them too. I dont get you wrong ;) but Id hate PSL to be a 3v3 tournament.

PSL is more, whoever turns up thats the amount that is playing ! XD

NEW MAPS PLEASE and I also like the random idea but not random for captains as there are many people who aren't responsible at the least bit !

Just pick some, there are about 150 maps currently. There's an average of about 3 new maps released every week! (Oh ya, and other people are making maps too! (hehe)) j/k XD

Of course, you can always find the majority beating the same 7 horses to death every night! :S

Pedro I'm just making a polite recommendation here, your mods are cool as MODS but not exactly scrum material if you know what I mean, they need to be a little smaller and more 'scrum material' look at MM mods.

We don't really need new maps at this point.

^I agree totally with Tally. When I hear Reag X calling for more new players to keep this thing going, new maps are not the answer. ;)
