The long awaited /ignore script is now ready for download.

This was planned addition to the ThinkTanks 1.2 update. But the recent rash of malcontents has accelerated the deployment of this feature. It has been tested extensively, but may not be 100%. Consider it to be a very late beta. Please report bugs if you find them. Use it and spread the word.

Once you ignore someone you will not be able to see their chat. You will still see others yelling at them though, so spread the word so everyone can ignore them. Hopefully, a yutz being greeted by "has put Ann0y1ngYutz on /IGNORE." from several players will send the message about what people won't put up with in ThinkTanks.

Script and instructions for OSX.

Script and instructions for Windows.

Usage Instructions :

- In the chat box type /ignore or /i followed by enough of the player's name to make it unique to toggle the ignore feature.

Example: Assuming you want to ignore the chat from "Ann0y1ngYutz." Type: /i yutz or /ignore ann0

- Push the i key to bring up a chat box already filled with "/ignore"

- Push CTRL + i to cycle through the names of the players in the game.

- To allow that person's chat again, use /ignore or /i and their name again.

- A person will remain ignored until you quit ThinkTanks or unignore them.

Post Bugs/Questions/Comments here.

Working together to make ThinkTanks a better place™. XD

@BLUFORD-

I'm a Mac user, but I don't have a G5 (yet) However, I had no trouble d/ling and installing the ignore Script on my G4 at home.

Can you tell us what specific trouble you're having when trying to install it? Is it not downloading correctly? Give us some more detail and I'm sure we can get you working.

OM,

I tried to DL the script and within seconds it was finished...very unusual for my 56k bps dial-up connection. When it finished I tried to open it, "no application for this program is available" is what is said (or something similar to that). And it showed a piece of paper with a corner folded over...do you know what I talking about?

I wish I was more techno-savvy to explain it better... Obviously it's an operator error thing, I just wish I knew what I was doing wrong.

First you must unzip it with stuffit expander. It's a small file so you probably got the whole thing downloaded.

Stuffit usually activates itself automatically...but (Stuff) it didn't open this time. Hmmmmmm, I'll play around with it tomorrow...too tired tonight.

Thanks!!!

Hi,

Is there any chance to get a version of this script for Linux?

I would really like to be able to use it too.

Thanks,

Joe why is it annoying....is it cuz everbody puts you on ignore?

Thursday, December 09, 2004 at 6:08:52 AM

How would one ignore with out the slap in the face message that comes with the Ignore script? Example: zIMP has now put Greg [bot] on /IGNORE
instead no message
Lets say I dont want to hurt someones ego but wish to ignore their chatter

Oh and btw a on / off toggle switch is needed for the player/score display. Being able to remove this part of the display would increase view of game. Say CTRL S to view score etc

If this is already available I'm interested to use it

SPAWNING IS NOT RANDOM - STUDY THE GAME

IF YOU KNOW THE GAME WELL ENOUGH YOU WILL KNOW WHEN TO THROW YOURSELF OFF A CLIFF TO SPAWN IN THE EXACT AREA YOU WISH.

IT TAKES TIME - BUT IT DOES WORK ;)

It seems like a good time to bring this back up, though. Some new players were wondering how to do that recently.

^ obviously didn't read too carefully in the head of the thread...
