I hope you're familiar with this story .

Anyway, Mrs. Kerry basically tells a reporter to "shove it" when he's trying to understand what she meant when she had earlier commented on the need to clean up politics since the process had become un-Pennsylvanian and had some "un-American traits". Later when asked by a reporter what she meant by, "un-American", she responded that she hadn't said that. She later returned to the reporter after learning that he was from a conservative newspaper and that's when the famous "Shove it" occurred.

I'm not quite sure why she reacted that way since the reporter was asking for her to clarify what she meant.

The thing that's bothering me about this is afterwards when she and her husband were asked about it, they defended what she had done and attacked the reporter's motives. I don't care that she said, "Shove it", but that the incident itself has become the story and she has yet to clarify herself.

I would have rather heard her say something like, I was under a lot of stress or distracted, I didn't hear him correctly or misunderstood his question, I did say that and here's what I meant when I said "un-American traits." It could have been a great opportunity for her to explain what she meant, get her message out to more people and really come across as a professional, humble servant of the people.

I think she missed that opportunity.

Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but you can't tell me that after all this campaigning she made a point of going back to this guy and had a "spontaneous" moment. These people have stables of groomers. You're told exactly what to say and what not to say. On the eve of the biggest political moment of your life you suddenly decide to go back and tell a reporter to shove it?

She feed it to a reporter so that Kerry could come out & say his wife had an opinion. "Make a distinction between you & Laura Bush". Telling him to shove it is nothing compared to Chenny's "F**k off" comment. "Shove it" will go away.

Anyone notice that Kerry came out tonight and said would you rather have a ditz or someone with an opinion?

@ Ho

Wake up and you may learn something.

@ KBC

Four words: "When we're the president." They will live on.

@Memphis - Glad to have you back. I keep trying to say that her quote of "shove it" isn't the issue, but that she denied saying the political process has "unAmerican traits" minutes after saying it and refusing to explain what she meant.

Someone mentioned Jenna sticking her tongue out at a reporter and flipping them off, but they were asking her about being arrested. Maybe not the most lady like thing to do, but that probably was a case when the reporter was being a wiener and asking about something that really has no bearing (other than to embarrass her once again). I mean, we all know the Bush girls like to party. :)

Ah ha, I see, well then I'd better learn to read to whole post or at least the link. Thanks for the kind words. It's good to be back, at least until I say something stupid, oh wait...too late. :P
