Page : <1> :

Dash explained a way to launch the torque demo with all TT's objects and terrains ready to go, but this way is easier. Simply follow these fairly simple steps:

1)Download the torque demo, put it at program files/torque demo.

2)Copy the "demo" folder into the torque root folder. (It should now be named "copy of demo").

3)Rename that new folder "game".

4)In the "demo" folder, create a new batch file. (You can copy any of the files from Thinktanks' "dedicated" folder, and paste it)

5)Right click on that batch file, and choose "edit". Change the text to the following:
cd..
demo -mod game

6)Save and close the batch file.

7)Add TT shapes and terrains to your new "game" folder.

8)Double click the new batch file (it may take a while to do anything, just wait) , launch up the FPS example game, and press F11. (I won't tell you how to run the world editor/terrain editor, that's a different tutorial).

There ya go! If you have any questions, please post! :P

When your in the FPS example game should every thing look like it does in TT, because it look just how it normaly is when I was in it. With you being the shooter guy and every thing.

(I won't tell you how to run the world editor/terrain editor, that's a different tutorial).

And where can I get this tutorial. XD

Monday, July 26, 2004 at 12:03:58 AM

No, it will still be like the normal FPS example because all Torque's stock objects will be there, but it's easy to pick objects and terrains from lists to change them.

And where can I get this tutorial.

I have yet to find the difficulity in running the TGE... :S

Monday, July 26, 2004 at 7:38:49 AM

I don't get it, how can I edit the TT terrain if I can't even see it? Even in the editor I can't see the TT terrain. I'll keep tring.

Monday, July 26, 2004 at 12:48:20 PM

I followed your instuctions and this is what I get when I press F11.

You must load a mission before starting the Mission Editor

What did I miss?

Monday, July 26, 2004 at 1:01:26 PM

You have to start the FPS example. You have to creat a server. Then press F11.

Monday, July 26, 2004 at 3:37:45 PM

You mean t00t p00t!

Monday, July 26, 2004 at 3:50:52 PM

Do I create the server in the FPS example or TT? If in the FPS example, then how long do I have to wait before something happens?

Monday, July 26, 2004 at 6:17:23 PM

In the torque demo.

And by the way, this technique works in TT too if you want to have a game with mods, and a game without ;)

Friday, August 06, 2004 at 4:52:11 PM

You don't type in the console window, you edit the batch file that OPENS the console window. (Btw, it's not console, it's command prompt)

Friday, August 06, 2004 at 6:07:45 PM

What does the batch file has to be called and is that right that when I doubleclick it it comes up for about 3 seconds and then goes.

Friday, August 06, 2004 at 6:35:01 PM

Saturday, August 07, 2004 at 9:11:12 AM

Wheres dash's original totorial thing?

Friday, August 27, 2004 at 1:17:52 PM

1. Goto menards and buy a torque wrench
2. Use the wrench to remove the bolts from the engine head of your vehicle (the head is the cover that protects the pistons)
3. Drop a small bolt into each hole
3. Replace the head
4. Then start the engine

Then you engine will be "torqued"

Dash explained a way to launch the torque demo with all TT's objects and terrains ready to go

Where is this?

Saturday, September 04, 2004 at 2:50:06 PM

That's exactly what this thread is SUPPOSED to be about.... 8(

Sunday, September 05, 2004 at 2:46:09 AM

I did it, and only the textures come up...
Not the objects...
And it still wont load TT tearins...

I made the folder capoied from the original folder, I made the bat...
With this text:
cd..
demo -mod game

And then I copied all the missions, teraians, and shapes into the proper places...

I can oly use the TT textures... THe objects arent availible in the list of objects, unless I'm stupid and cant find em somehow
And It will load the missions, but the train just goes poof

What did I do wrong?

Sunday, September 05, 2004 at 12:15:58 PM

Look under "static shapes", not "shapes", "interiors", or "mission objects".

Sunday, September 05, 2004 at 6:31:16 PM

Hmmmmmm in the dune buggy example it has a set of ramps or jumps how do I make those or use them?

Sunday, September 05, 2004 at 6:37:51 PM

You can't, they are interiors.

Monday, September 06, 2004 at 1:11:24 AM

Dash, thnx for the advice, here's an old question I can't find an answer to. Is there a way to use the Torque demo to edit TT missions or terrains? If yes, please tell us how.

Thanks for sharing what you know.

Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 12:38:50 AM

For some oddball reason, it doesn't want to open them. However, tinker around a bit, if you find out how, be sure to let everyone know, I'm sure it would be usefull to alot of people. :)

Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 1:29:21 AM
