@stinks, I hope you dont let the out of control mod run you off.
we need you here to drive them crazy.

Editing attacks and profanity is good

if you call ass profane and attack idiot than ya I agree.

@deej, I would'nt mind if you used your mod powers to edit some of the words
like for example: ass to butt- idiot to not smart, I cant rewrite that post because
I dont remember what exactly I said. I think you over used your power tho, it was
not as bad as you paint it out to be.

Maybe you're right about that Vash and I do apologize. I probably could've just edited some of the words in your post instead of deleting it completely. However, I do believe you had some obscene language in the title of the thread, which is not editable. For that reason, it probably would've gotten deleted by Dan Mac or one of the other moderators anyways.

If I recall, you had some pretty harsh words about republicans. I got the impression that you were really pissed off at the time and speaking out of pure anger. I'll be more carful in the future to not over due it. Your thoughts and opinions are very welcome here, please don't hesitate to express yourself however you see fit.

In fact, I would like to know your honest opinion about George W. Bush and what happend on election night.

I was in a debating mood and drunk, but not pissed...

The words I use was just in general. Im sure some non repulicans
voted for bush, that was what id**** inteded for, I heard someone
in my office that is a third party voter state that he was voting for bush
for security reasons...

But I also think you all (mods) should get together and lay down some rules.
I did not know you cant use profane words in the title. ( even tho I dont believe ass is profane)

But I apologize for my ignorance

In most cases profanity won't be moderated unless it is some one ranting, or is blatantly inappropriate. If someone is passionate about something a little "color" isn't going to be the end of the world. If someone chooses to use profanity directed at an individual member of of the community then that will be moderated as that is not acceptable. In light of recent issues we have been reviewing the forum policies on the moderator forum.

@mods I think spamming is more what you should be regulating.

I don't get how he had everyone vote... And there were 5 or 6 people that were CLEARLY voted for over and over and over again. Yet at the end some near random poeple were picked and made moderators. I'm still a bit shocked and confused from the whole mess.

A coup already? Didn't I predict that? How prophetic...

It wasn't a vote, it was a nomination. Popular people do not always make the best leaders.

Friday, November 05, 2004 at 5:16:29 PM

Yeah, but apparently that was wrong.... The people with the most votes that were made moderators, are the ones doing their job fairly and just. Now we have the people that didn't got 2 or 3 votes that somehow made it thru are the ones causing all the trouble.

Just one guys opinion.

LAD, you say, "people" and "the ones", but as far as I know, RWS was the only mod to get a little nuts. Bolo also seems to have an issue with 2 other mods, but he won't name them. Am I missing something? :o

I'm not sure who B's talking about. So far, the rest of you mods are doing just fine by me. Maybe he just has concerns, but I think the RWS situation has proven to this community that quick action can and will be taken if anyone gets out of hand. That's good enough for me.

I just agree with -z- that moderators should not be opinionated and should moderate from an unbiased position.

-z-'s moderators did just that for the most part (when they were here)

Dan's new choices include some pretty opinionated people, most of which have no idea how to moderate a public forum. Things already looking weird....threads locked and unlocked. People re-editing people's posts..people pasting what another mod deleted, etc....

Only time will tell but im seeing the new mods trade one problem for another.

I'll be interested to see what -z- has to say.

In the mean time im gonna sit back and watch the show

Have fun and shoot more tanks

I suppose some of the moderators make their own political stance known, as long as they continue to "discuss" it in a civil manner I don't have a problem with it. If they start moderating people with different views then their own or locking threads they don't like then new mods will replace them. So far I've been happy with the performance of the remaining mods. I'm not perfect, I don't make infallible mod choices but I'm quick to realize when I've made a mistake and resolve the problem.
