What are some of the best moves/plays you've ever seen in TT?

For example, while playing solo scrum yesterday with 9 other good players (no demos or noobs in the mix),

44 (AKA Fo Fo) performed a run that had everyone stunned for the longest time. My jaw literally dropped as I watched his impossible run culminate with a goal. Even 44 himself said he was stunned and impressed with the run.

Here's what happened...

He grabbed the scrum while already smoking like a big dog at the opposite end of the map. I was close by and nearly finished him off, but so were a bunch of other trigger happy lights. I was positive that 44 was going to be getting a new tank very soon, but he kept zig-zagging all over the place as scrummers do in their desparate last moments of life. Surprisingly, he kept going and going. It looked like that incredible scene from Commando where Arnold was running across an open field as bulletts and all hell broke lose all around him. Nothing seemed to hit him for some reason! It was most frustrating!!!

All the while, 44 was going backwards (ala TG) and was firing off rounds at the same time and killing us off instead! One by one until he reached the mouth of the goal that was on top of a hill and totally surrounded by several of us...just waiting to finally put him out of his misery and end the humorous but futile (we all believed) attempt to score by 44. Then before you knew it, 44 somehow slipped passed all of us and flew into the goal for the score!

Amazing run. The most amazing one I've seen.

What have you seen or done?

Uhm, last week in a scrum... I actually ran out of ammo before I died.

I remember the one time I had a guy very close to the goal, I hit a jump pad, hit the tank with the scrum and bounced of the player into the goal!

I am the king of Tank-dives, I know all of them, and my most amazing one is in Cranium Crater, I won't say where or how...

I remember watching my tank lay on it's side under a dogpile of other tanks for about 10 seconds. I even had the scrum... Just had to sit there and watch, helpless... I was laughing to hard to do anything anyway.

One of my favorite moments from TB was on my Omaha Beach Mod. While parachuting into the green (German) base I bombed the entire hill with area effect from the air and took out about 3 tanks at once. Never knew what hit 'em!

Also, who can forget the last season's triumph of an outnumbered 2-tank Medulla team (Ben and Dementus) over a 5-tank Synaptic team, 97-88? This is one of the Hall of Fame moments in Team Battlemode League history. Long live Medulla !

I can't think of much, but I do remember one CTF game I was in where we were on the Cranium map. I don't remember who I did this too, but I was on the blue team, but on the green side of the map on the other side of the big hill between the 2 bases. A green player just grabbed the flag and was trying to head back to his side. He hit that launch pad on the blue side of the hill and flew over, but I had hit the launch pad on the green side to head back to my base to help out at the same moment. Well, we flew right over each other, never touching, but I must have come within inches of his tank, because I stole the flag from him mid-air!! LOL! He kept going his direction and I kept going in mine, but with my newly acquired flag! I couldn't have planned something like that if I wanted to! A few players saw it and started cracking up. It was such perfect timing. Hehe.

Not a great moment, but certainly memorable. I dropped into a game where everyone couldn't believe that a certain tank still had the scrum. At first, I thought they were talking about an amazing feat of skill, but quickly saw that the tank in question wasn't doing anything other than driving in circles. In the middle of an open field no less! 4 or 5 players were emptying their clips into him, but he just wouldn't die. Every player there slammed into him at full speed, but no one could get the scrum off his tank. It seemed like it was super glued to his tank. All we could do was sit back and wonder how he was able to do it.

This was in one of the HomeLAN or Shockwave Severs. We guessed he had somehow set up a bogus server name and was luring people into his MOD. Then he would pretend to suddenly have "superpowers".

Problem with that explanation was that he wasn't saying anything. You'd think he would be taunting people. After a minute or two he finally disappeared and we started up the game again. He soon rejoined the game and someone made a comment about "Mr. Magnet" being back. He asked what that meant, and after we explained he apologized and said that he had been switching his laptop from battery to AC power. He hadn't left the game first and it froze up. He ended up rebooting the computer, but had no idea that during the time it was frozen he was still connected to the server. XD

I've got a couple:

1) I've posted this one once before: Playing Frantic Battlemode, I was racing to help out a teammate, and as I got up close, he came leaping over a ridge and flew right through my camera lens!! You know how you flinch when a random shot happens to go through that spot? Imagine how much worse it was to react to a tank flying into your face! XD My wife hollered in to see what the "Oh Sh*t!" was about.

2) Playing Indie Scrum, in a goal-scrum, I hit a jump pad, then face-planted on the tank with the scrum, stealing it, and falling into the goal.

The greatest moments for me was watching jangles play. Sorry I cant write more info but those of you who know J know what I am talking about.

Fun Times... Haven't seen games like that in a long time... Guess we need to schedule a May Day at most of our year Anniversary's

I'd say when I do those few matrix moves where I'd be in air shooting at the guy from above and he'd be dead by the time I hit the ground. It's like everything just slows down and the best part about is that if you go from the side and and over them, they can't see you do it so they wonder what the hell just happened. It's awsome.

Anyhoo, I have a similar story to LC, I was going along with the scrum, all of a seden someone spawned right in front of me on a hill I hit the brakes....but it was to late. I hit him, he got the scrum and scored but somehow when I hit him I went into the hill, and someone that was behind me got on top of me and got stuck. I had a good laugh about it....until I realized tha I gave someone else a point, then I was kinda sad. I cant remember who it was if you were wondering why I didnt say names. :P

Well lets see I dont have the greatest memory but my best move was pure luck I was in a game a while ago.. Got shot uo by some trigger happy demo until I was smoking then he dropped out ,well I happened to be really close were the scrum appeared so I drove over to get it knowing that as soon as I touched the scrum I would get shot up..well I started the long drive over to the goal, I could see all those little red dots all driving for me but I kept on driving... I went over a small bump and I saw about 3 tanks coming after me and they were all heading straight for me so I did a fake turn to the left and of course being the fools they were they all went to turn to intercept me , but I turned back on the original path I was taking and made it by them, of course they all started following me and shooting at me. At this time I was close enough to see the scrum goal and the fairly large group of campers in the goal, most of them started to drive at me and a couple started to shoot...well I did those little crazy zigzag thingers and the majority of the shots missed but some still plinked off my light tank, I zizzaged through most of them but finaly I got rammed and shot and I lost the scrum and had to respawn, but because my luck was still with me I appeared in the goal and I drove down , as the person with the scrum was backing up into the goal I rammed him and stole it and drove away and then I began the final attempt I drove tight at the goal, no one was infront of me.. Suddenly a tank tried to intercept me and I swerved to the side and went head oon into a tree, that tree must have loved me because I bounced over the large group and while I was still in the air I passed through the goal...

And if your are lazy and dont wanna read what I just said and would like a summary.. I got the scrum, got shot appeared in the goal stole the scrum bounced off a tree and got a goal ;)

TG remembers this one...fairly recently....cant remember who else was there...i had the scrum on freudian...going to the corner goal spot (with the rock and tree).....there were like 4 tanks right by me...some on my team some not...i hit that rock as to bounce to the side and get the lead but instead I slowly bounced in the air on top of the tanks...it was like riding a train all the way to the goal....4 tanks all together in a straight line to the goal...i rode all them 1 at a time and fell down just short of the goal and then pushed my way in....VERY frustrating at the time and then it became funny:)

Another time took the arrow on hypo up the hill, landed on the jump pad on top and almost drove up the fog to a nearby island....still had the scrum...some smartass said "diver"....i was inclined to agree!!

My favorite was on medulla where there is a jump on the top of the hill, one on bottom and then the goal spot.... I was tailgating the flag carrier on the hill and he hit a rock, slammed into me and I got the flag...i instictively backed up to avoid shots and got slammed into a sneaky tank behind a rock...the scrum goes flying...my momentum made me hit the jump pad backwards, catch the scrum in mid air, hit the NEXT jump pad at the bottom of the hill and score....nobody could believe it...that was SOME luck...

Do you remember when TankGirl challenged Bolo to see who was the best driver? An someone ithink it was 44 set up these pylons and balanced eggs on em and TankGirl jumps in the buick station wagon and she's like all prissy and slow and she carefully weaves thru....then Bolo's all "watch this" and jumps in the buick and fires it all up and careens through the pylons and he almost makes it......but aw....he knocks off the last egg? And TankGirl is all "I win I win" and Bolo is like "GODDAMIT"

Remember that?....i was all "dat suks"

@stink - ROFLOL!! Y'know, the scary thing about that is I remember that episode. Oh jeez, I can't believe I admitted that.

Here's a recent experience I had that was one of my personal best moments in TT:

Just for fun, I recently played team scrum against 3 players, me versus 3 decent scrummers (not vets or elites, but not demo's or noobs either) and I totally schooled them 5-1 (they got a freebie!) before they all quit out of embarrassment. One of them was assigned as camper and the other two were supposed to get the scrum. Well, I dealt with the two scrummers easily by always beating them to the flag and shooting them down and thoroughly enjoyed beating the camper every time by faking one way and going the other and then backing into the goal. It's a classic move that the elites have taught me. Sometimes you're better off doing an Indiana Jones and shooting them down and walking into the goal, but I much preferred faking them out.

One time when I was playing of FP's speedway maps(I was playing the one with the orange fog)I was chasing after FP when I went up a hill after him we both hit a speed pad and wnet way up in the air,when we were in the air I shot a burst of bulluts and BAM!FP was dead.

I have done this once or twice... Coming off an arrow pad that launches you into the air, chasing some unlucky scrummer, he launches 1st, then you launch shortly after but with a bit more velocity... U fly faster shooting at him all the way... Finally u r to the point where u are in the air, aiming and shooting off to the side, but u cant see him anymore becuz he is in your blindspot... Then a message shows up on the bottom of the screen, ie: "Unlucky has been eliminated by -Rook$-"... Then as u land, all u see is a falling tank corpse, and the flag on a high bounce toward the fog... AHHH!! SATISFACTION

I also remember in one indie scrum game, I had the flag, and the goal was on camp hill (everyone should know which goal im talkin about)... I hit the pad going toward the goal, (that everyone hits when they want to get the flag stolen by someone on camp hill) then as I approached the side of the hill I noticed someone was trying to intersect me, so I negotiated a quick turn to the right... I managed to narrowly avoid him, however, my momentum still carried me up the hill, launched me in the air, slightly brushing the tree, nothing but net!!!

FYI... That has to be my favorite goal

This one just happened during a quick lunch scrum:

I jumped on for a quickie as my alter ego, Ro [Bot] and noticed the game was half over (I use that cool script that tracks the amount of time left in any game you play) and Ben/Sizicus was winning 3 to 1 over several good players. I proceeded to get lucky with a couple of steals and ultimately tied Ben by using that jump pad on top of the hill above the goal. Ben had just used it and over shot the goal by a good bit because he was flying...so I slowed down as much as possible in an effort to land as close to the goal as I could with the hopes of possibly intercepting Ben. Sure enough, fortune was on my side again as I did in fact come down right on top of Ben, thus stealing the flag and then backed into the goal with a mass crowd surrounding it as well. Everyone was stunned by the move, as was I! Even Ben had to say, "Holy Steal, Batman!" and others simply said, "WOW!".

I got another score to seal the deal 4-3...in a brief but exciting game.

Sadly I was respawning at the time of that great goal. Ro |bot| ;)

Only one I can remember is on Cranium Crator the goal was below the boost pad on the hil, the one we used to use to get onto bot falls island. There was a big fight on the island and everyone knew everyone was trying to use the pad to score. Well there was some bashing and brawling as usually and I was able to hit a person as he was coming up the hill and did a skid turn on the re-bound to the pad, hit the pad sideways and was able to BARELY get my nose into the goal enough to score.

Other time was in Medulla, hitting the boost pad that goes up the hill. Well the person with the scrum went jsut ahead smoking I was able to shoot him out of the air, grab the scrum in mid flight, hit the little hill with all the trees and slide in for the goal.. I think someone must have givin me a little nug while in mid-flight once I killed the scrum carrier. But he had to sit and watch me slide into the goal.

Cant think of anything good but related to one above about medulla beating synaptic...

LC that game was rigged! I couldnt even get in until halfway into the second game! We were sabatoged! Booo!!!

I loved FP's first CTF map, I still have it. It's messed up though.

A classic moment in Think Tank's history occurred during a team scrum game on Medulla Mesa.

A viscious battle between notorious players of the like of 56K Lag Man, -z-, Mars, Jangles, Baba, Sniper and mudda and a 1/2. After a score the scrum bounced and bounced and bounced again, finally landing square on top of the ammo dump. Resting there and setting of the dumps's electrical charge.

The tanks gathered around in shock and awe.

We knew we were a witness to a momentous occasion.

Generations later the tale is still re-told by the surviving grizzled vets to young tankers gathered around the campfire.
