I am trying to get a friend's PC running ThinkTanks, but after we install it and try to run it, it comes up with the "ThinkTanks crashed. We're sorry for the sucky OS please report this to Micro$oft" message. Here's the system specs:

Windows XP SP2

AMD Duron 1.1ghz
384mb SDRAM
100gig Maxtor hard drive
Nvidia Geforce 2 MX100/200 32mb

Now he has dial-up, so he hasn't done Windows Update for a long time.

Need this fast.

First thing in trouble shooting a crashing 3d game: Reinstall video drivers!

Since it's an old video card, I'd recommend older drivers. (Even though usually everyone recommends the latest.)

Version: 44.03 has been good to me with Geforce4 cards... Might work well with the geforce2..
A random person on a forum that turned up from a google search recommends 29.42. Might give it a shot.

It seems the newest version is compatible with his card. I will download it.

Just know that the latest cards are optimized for the FX cards. As a result often the older cards will take a hit in OpenGL performance.

But if it works, more power to ya.

Racer with an Nvidia card you MUST turn OFF the
"NView" portion of the video software
Open up the NVidia icon in the sytem tray and hunt around
for the toggle box. Make sure its off!
Also the card you listed is the minimum requirement for TT
Your friend might wanna consider a new card

Actually, the minimum is an nVidia Riva TNT2.

I got it working, although very very slow.

He has over 40 processes running in task manager and over 50 in msconfig Startup and that's the problem.
