TGE? %)
What? (that was decidedly not helpful) :P
When in TGE and modding, finish your terrain and go to Window-->Mission Editor Creator.
Then you will see a window on your right with a navigation area.
Click on the + sign next to Static Shapes and keep clicking + signs until you navigate to game/data/shapes/whatevershapeyouwanttoputin.
Click on whatevershapeyouwanttoputin and it appears in the middle of your screen. Drag the X, Y and Z axes to move the object to where you want it then press+hold ALT and drag the X, Y and Z axes to rotate the object along either of those axes.
Hope this helps.
It might...if I knew what TGE was. Some kind of terrain editor? I haven't gotten into that, but I'd love to. Is there a relevant thread already in existence that I could read about this? Thanks.

TGE is torque Game Engine.
TGE is great for placing all of the static objects like trees and rocks and such. If you install the expansion pack you can also place things like custom trees (187's old stuff) Fountains, Additional trees like pine and birch.
TGE also allows you to try different skyscapes, and sun/shadow configurations.
Of course it also allows you to create your own terrains using the 300 some odd textures in the Xpack too.
Look in the modding resource, there are tons of "how-to" links for whatever OS your running.
Ok, I've downloaded the TGE demo and followed this tutorial: http://supra.planetthinktanks2.com/archives/comm-thread.asp?thread=6181&forum=2
When I try to open a TT mission file, however, I still get an Invalid Packet message. Has anyone ever actually done this?
Napalm is the man you want to talk to about TGE. He is also on a Mac.
I have forwarded your problem to the Brave Tree aka Garage Games for them to look into the matter !
I am in the middle of hooking you up on other stuff I promised you ! Give me about 30 mintues to get it all together for you ! So by 10am CST you should have it ! B)

I've done some very simple stuff with MW, but I'd like to have more precise control over where objects go in my mods. How do you pros do this? Another problem with MW is that when you place objects like trees and rocks, it randomly selects one of the object types, and I'd like to pick specific rocks and trees to include. I have gone into the code and changed certain objects that way, but it can be hard to tell exactly which object is the one you want.
A good example of precise placement is the Impossible Odds server. Those walls and rock formations are awesome, and would be impossible with ModWizard.
Suggestions?
